  1. "I'm not afraid . . ." (Mess with you, Yoda does.)
  2. "I am not afraid of greasing the front U-joint on my RedFrame Sport, Master Yoda."
  3. Funky with you, your Sport will be.
  4. I'm not finding that source in the UK, but web search "Champion PRO5U" and you'll have multiple sources . . .
  5. The early Sport used Champion resistor caps. Later V11 were NGK. I have gotten the red Champions from a scooter supplier in the UK (Champion is UK, as in Albert Champion or "AC", as in AC/Delco) . . . Let me find contact info . . .
  6. Veglia needles are > both < still orange! Yellow "Witness Protection" goop still caked on the TPS Torx fasteners . . .
  7. Pretty cool that a respected, inaugural V11LeMans.com member (2002 = twenty years!) still drops in to post here. Great to see you, @Mike Stewart ! Best regards, Good Sir! Drop in and post your "travels" or "Newer Models" or "banter" if you will. Newer members surely haven't seen your username much, but I well recall your devoted and considered contributions to this forum in its formative days. Your presence and quality were the kind that shaped the foundation of what we continue to enjoy here. Thanks for making the mounts available to our community. Even more, though, great to see you around!
  8. How about this, @Twin AH . . . https://www.ebay.com/itm/2001-Moto-Guzzi-V11-Sport-/274975166212?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0
  9. I mean, true, but ignore them at our peril. But, also, very challenging to understand how they are wired in and what various states of illumination, or not, might indicate. That @dowieze has "starting issues" as well, may make the light absence helpful to the troubleshooting . . . .
  10. Haha , even actual automobiles have not always followed "automotive practice" . . . https://www.lanemotormuseum.org/
  11. "A pretty black from the south of France"
  12. Ah! Yeah, pretty sure that is the same that @Pressureangle just scored for his 1100 Sport-i. Check my work on that, though . . . .
  13. AFAIK, the rear drive of the V11/6speeder series (1999-2005), and also the driveshaft, are not the same between the last of the 1100 Sport-i/5speed (late '96-'97)?
  14. Here is one to start with, @ronkom:
  15. Ah, so, your 2003 is a 2002 "carry-over" model with white face Veglia gauges and angle drive speedometer cable. Weak link is definitely the lower angle drive (not what is inside the gearbox). There has been a lot (alot!) posted about these. Let me look for a decent thread . . .
  16. I'll admit, I want anything 2-stroke in my troubled life to be electric: chainsaws, wee-deaters and the like. All of my grounds maintenance machines, even. More especially: my neighbors' noisy clashing ICE lawn and garden bangers, blowers, and trimmers. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
  17. Thanks for taking us along, Bill! Mille grazie! I have to post a few favorites:
  18. TubaSkinny are like SpineRaiders without Guzzis . . .
  19. Y'all boys can make threads hard to save . . . "Hamstring" definition + Gastrocnemius + Gluteus Maximus + etcetera = greater impact than barends and exhaust tape. I mean, of course, there is not even a "Big Block."
  20. We will talk, next, about the relays since you have said the "charging current light does not light up." Then on to the Ignition Switch.
  21. @dowieze, here is the location of the critical main ground from the battery negative/earth terminal to the back of the gearbox on the right, behind the seat latch: If the starter cannot ground back to this point, it will destroy the wiring harness trying to start . . . Also, let us all be aware that the starter motor, itself, grounds through its mounting bolts. It is very important that these bolts, their washers, threads, and surfaces between the starter motor and mounting surface are clean, connected, and sealed from corrosion.
  22. +1 on the grounds first, @MartyNZ ! @dowieze, once you attend to the grounds, we can take on what is next if your V11 still makes trouble for you . . .
  23. Hello, @dowieze ! What year is your Le Mans (as the wiring changed from early to late V11)?
