Yep. See post above about BelRay 5 wt I've been using. Realize some manufacturer's 10 wt is lighter than others' 5 wt. Look at the Peter Verdone Design chart of viscosities in cST@40ºC and @100ºC for more accurate comparisons. Verdone has some very insightful observations about adjusting damping in these fork systems. Worth the read. Happy to see you getting her sorted!

Rather than jack around with the wiring, begin by replacing your relays with 5-pin High Current OMRON. The 5-pin is only needed in the start position, but simple enough to use them in all positions.

I was thinking the current wisdom is to go titanium, but unlikely there is a kit available for the V11...

Modern reissue of the iconic 1939 Shure 55. Somehow, it seems to ‘resonate' with the Sport in so many ways . . .

What Lucky Phil says, there. Power to the starter post, ground to the case flange where you bolt the starter up, and use a screwdriver to jump across the positive to the blade connector on the solenoid. The gear should jump out and spin robustly. Re-reading makes me more suspicious of a flat battery. You have a good voltmeter to check it after it has been quiet (no load, no charger) after a few hours?

The Breva, as well as the 1200 Sport, have a completely different frame and swingarm system. Th certainly look more "upright", but let's wait for folks who have some side-by-side experience to enlighten!

A South'n Spine Raid would be a great introduction to the roads!

Wow, now! That is sweet! What does that ride down to Tellico Plains look like for you? A couple hours?

Clamp the battery positive to the big post on the starter lying on the floor. Put your foot on the starter and take the negative from your car to the housing of the starter where you would bolt it up. It should just jump into action like a startled armadillo!

You are right to be looking for more sag. I would suspect that either the springs or internal spacers may have been changed before. As to oil, I recall the prevailing opinion that "10 wt" is rather thick for these forks, slowing their already limited action. I have long used BelRay 5 wt, yet also learned that measure can vary rather widely between manufacturers. Peter Verdone Designs publishes a chart converting common fork oils to a more comparable centiStokes @ (some) temperature. What does your rear sag measure?

On the V11, I can't see how the oil pressure switch would affect starting. If that starting issue proves changed on 4corsa's V11, I expect it is due to servicing the Ignition Switch. If it doesn't prove changed, we shall surely dive in again!

Hi, Paul6506! Looks like you are just north of I-40 about 20 miles northeast of Knoxville. Not sure who is traveling in from that direction. Slip down to Tellico Plains for a visit!

Yep. I mixed up my "Toms" . . . Looks all good now. Thanks for all the replies!

doslemans tells me he pm'd his address this morning. Not sure who still needs to ring in from that list . . . @Tomchri ?

Seems that Vic, footgoose, VeeEleven, and maybe one other have responded from this list. @Kane ? @Tomchri ? @hammershaug ? @doslemans ?

+1 Bad switch.

Ok, so when I connect a grounded wire to the disconnected oil pressure switch wire, I get the bulb to light with key on engine off! Progress! Make sure the connection to the switch is clean and treated. Also, there should be continuity from the switch connection to the engine case with the engine off.
-
That one wire grounds the light to illuminate it, right? Using just a screwdriver grounding that wire, still no oil light with the key on? Is there continuity from the switch end of the blue wire to the bulb end of the blue wire?
-
No frame ground from the factory. The light grounds through the switch to the engine. What about cleaning and treating the connectors with Caig DeOxit and resecuring them?
-
That must have been someone else's comment. I've only used my Hg sticks and they don't have restrictors . . .
-
Okay, sorry, I was thinking of the cable. I have one for a late model V11 if anyone needs it.
-
@jwatches . . . Seems like the later V11 had a different throttle cable than the early RedFrames. GU 01117590 ?

"Pre-production" . . . I like that! This just appeared in a tool roll on a salvage bike. Not sure what it is. It was slipped in the little pocket of the tool roll, so looked like "it belongs." Kinda reminds me of a float adjustment tool, but not entirely. And there is no saying it is actually for the K75 it came with. Could have been for the guy's Coleman camp stove!

[V11Transema says:] Goodmorning everyone. I have a V11 with a little retro style. I would like to fit the exhausts of the triumph thruxton 1200 Do you think it is possible? what would it always entail in your opinion at the engine level? Thanks for your opinion.
