  1. My *Original* LuckyPhil Chuck-made zinc chromated Extender is a treasure. I now feel like I should have clear coated it . . .

    M Unit V11

Best minute-and-forty-six-seconds of my whole day!
  3. [ This nicely reframed question makes the answer easier to find . . . ]

    M Unit V11

  5. There must be many other similarities to our V11. Will guzzidiag connect?
  6. Which-ever shocks and forks, I would wager a more significant difference between the short and long frames (along with the difference in rear rim width), as "components" go. (Never thought of the frame as a "component" before . . . )
  7. Hey, maybe the low-spec Öhlins thing on the Guzzis is a myth! I understand it is not race spec Öhlins, but that is understandable. Thanks, footgoose, for that qualified input!
  8. As in, "For Sale?"
  9. Really interesting to ponder (of the V11 series) "So, what is best?" Many would naturally select the models with Öhlins suspension, yet I've heard it said that the Guzzi spec Öhlins is not really up to what we might expect from that esteemed maker. Plus, Öhlins was never offered on the ShortFrames (my preference) and only came on handlebar V11 with the stand-off headlamp/instrument mounting or the Corsas with the sad tank decal failures. Then there is the matter of full faring, bikini fairing or nekkid. Lately, I been diggin' nekkid, but that may be sharing too much. So, @Calijackalbob , best monochromatic (Designer Marabese would heartily approve! ) might well be the 2003-2004 black or red LeMans if you're in for the full faring and willing to set up the suspension. If you can tolerate the stand-off headlamp/instrument mounting and like the bikini/flyscreen then it is, hands down, the 2005 Scura R.
  10. I would suggest liberally greasing that needle cage, its race, and the washer to help resist water infiltration. I ended up with a ruined bevel box/reardrive from a PO neglecting this simple task. Repeat at every tire change . . .
  11. Is this a trick question?
  12. Looking through my multi-lingual Owner's Manual and Workshop Manual (each in three languages, but not the same three!), I recall the Italians call both the shifting gearbox a "trasmissione" (primeria/Cambione) and the reardrive/bevelbox/chunk/punkin' - "trasmissione" (secondaria/ posteriore). Mighty easy to get that mixed around.
  13. Makes me want to try and say something Italian, translated three-times-sideways (as always):
  14. +1 more on O2V11's reply about the correct volumes.
  15. This could not be a case of the heads needing to be "retorqued?" (Something I also have never done.)
  16. I've never heard of valve lash increasing after TDC. Yet, I have never actually checked the clearance anywhere but TDC. The only mechanical explanation I can think of is the cam is not perfectly degreed.
  17. Man, yer gonna get the Greenies struttin' again!
  18. You're speaking of belfastguzzi's thread? He was an early pioneer of dealing with the failed springs, even changing one on the roadside! Rather surprising, but his image links look to still be up . . . Also worth referencing is LuckyPhil's outstanding thread "V11 Shift Improvement" . . .
  19. I was thinking it's a $209 mower . . . although, I've seen some $209 hammers (that I have lusted after . . .) Okay, those may have been Gränsfors Bruks axes . . .
  20. Talk about thread drift . . . I took LuckyPhil's "like" as a > go for it < for my proof-of-method image testing the early Sport's tank volume . . .
  21. Those clocks look sooooo similar! Even the cable drive input and the spread of the mounting studs. I tried measuring my Veglia angle drive input (they have been known to be driven by the later V11 cables) and got more like 16mm. Then there is the matter of the illumination . . .
  22. That cracks me up - exactly what I thought! I'm with swoosh' , fill-up from empty = 5.1 US gallons. I seem to recall ~0.8 US gallons trapped on the right side of the tank, so "technically" ~5.8 is "correct." Don't make me post my proof photo on the tank testing . . .
  23. Solid! Thanks for posting your numbers on your new PC545. 12.70 here as well, 7 days. Right at 90%. I do have a Speedhut GPS sucking a little off mine.
  24. That is a handsome brace of Italian twins!
