  1. I was fortunate to encounter that clever corking, and that V11's awesome owner czakky, at a curious V11 meet-up in Tampa, Florida a few years back. czakky will have to speak for himself on the cork thing, but I found it a fabulous testimony to tasteful resourcefulness!
  2. The 2002 Tenni is the 2002 Lemans. You have the right Workshop (Service) Manual for your Tenni. Also, download the Parts Catalog for reference . . . .
  3. Good point, here. Early V11 (1999-2002 + early-2003-carryovers) are smaller diameter forks than the later V11 Marzocchi . . . Is it 41 mm, then 43 mm? Either way, the 2002 Tenni should be the early V11 Marzocchi spec . . . , yes?
  4. @Czakky led the way for us to re-purpose wine cork as true and trusted V11 kit. @Kane, do you have the original V11 clip-on weights? They are excellent and can be machined to accept something like CRG bar-ends:
  5. I think you show respect in many great ways. It shows real honor and dedication to go the extra miles (km? ) to make sure our V11 don't just get cast off, parted out, or otherwise defiled. That along with caringly placing the individual accessories and parts shows real respect. Thank you, Gio! I would have to look back at the timeline, but it was not long after we lost Luciano Marabese that we also lost brlawson. A fine gentleman I feel lucky to have met and ridden with.
  6. wow, guys, everyone is being so great about declaring "sold" status. welldone! Thank you all for offering kit to our small community. Thanks, Bill!
  7. Yeah, man, thanks! We all had a line of storms that night, but nothing like that EF2/EF3 through Nashville. Glad your friends are okay. The Nashville Electric Service estimates 600 poles down. Compared to 200 in the 1998 tornado . . .
  8. Look at this topic:
  9. Heh, well, I am decidedly chiral, at the very least. You don't want to bring out my mirror image!
  10. (Yes, same. Not "chiral" )
  11. Those are good points. I know a guy who's whole family puts on helmets when they are in the shelter. Lord knows, we probably all have lots of extra motorcycle helmets . . .
  12. All is well with those we know. That can't be said for all of Nashville, of course. These night time tornadoes are devastating, catching people totally unprepared or unalerted. We were caught in a powerful tornado path in 1998 that changed my view of weather forever. That same day, tornadoes went through Nashville on about the same course as this one. (I'm about an hour's drive south of the city.) There must be a "Tornado Alley" there as there was a 1933 event that followed very nearly that same path . . . Thanks for checking up, Nobelswood! Much appreciated!
  13. "like hands" Nice one, griswoia!
  14. griswoia, would you verify left rider (not passenger) footpeg, but right side brake lever (hand/front brake or foot/ rear brake)? Seems damage like that would be a flip-over!
  15. Now I cannot un-see LowRyter "waving with both hands like Miss America" from the seat of his red Ducati . . . It's not a bad thing, just kinda freakie when the drummer does this sort of thing from behind the band.
  16. These are killer deals. Thanks for sharing all this kit with the community, Gio! (No pics seemed to come up on this topic . . . )
  17. This reminds me, wasn't it determined that even though fork diameters changed between the early and late V11, the are for clip-on attachment remains the same? Such that any clip-ons can be used between the various forks? Does that even include the Öhlins?
  18. For just the subframes? Seems this is the right thread for that topic.
  19. "No petroleum grease on braking components. Silicone only!", sez gstallons . . . As to using aggressive pads on these Brembos so they last longer, I would ever rather replace pads than rotors. Talk about 'spensive.
  20. I learned to carry a spare spark plug and resister cap (actually a pair) in the monkey paw trap. Even shared them with an unlucky friend on a roadside out in the hilly countryside once . . .
  21. That is amazing that the head guard worked as well as it did. I've never seen one that eaten away . . So glad to hear you, and your protective gear, got you out of this better than that head guard fared! whew!
  22. On the omission of the "triangular" spine frame brace, I firmly believe they just found it too labor intensive to fit after the fuel injection was installed. If you have ever fit one (to an FI SpineFrame), you know what I mean . . .
  23. Agreed. A sort of "knee-jerk" solutionism. Perhaps not actual engineering at all. Maybe just > changes to demonstrate response to the market <
  24. The "triangular brace" (between the bottom of the SpineFrame and the top junction of the engine/gearbox) that went missing on the V11 is only fittable to the early Sports 1999-2001, but that is not the LongFrame "gearbox bracing." This is two tubes extending from the lowest tip of the frame side plates (from the lower subframe) forward to the back of the engine case. This cannot be added to the early Sports as there is no boss to attach the brace tubes to the engine. Look for the tube in this Scura image just above the exhaust:
  25. So, help me out here. I have always been under the impression that the Centauro had a short travel (rear) suspension. Or, maybe, that it was lowered? Could that really be? And is the Centauro motor in the same state of tune as the Daytona? What differences? TIA, always learning . . .
