  1. There is a lock nut, Gary, so no need to threadlock, just lubricate to protect from corrosion down there (maybe a light coat of water proof grease). There is a thread much later than this where it was determined the pins can probably be set the same, bottomed lightly, and turned back slightly to allow a tiny freeplay on the bearings.
  2. A “south’n” (USA) thang...
  3. Now, this whole business of sitting on bikes naked can be very revealing In more ways than one! Oh! Wait! Sit on a "Tonti naked" or sit on a "naked Tonti?' (the moderator is gonna hunt me down for this, I know . . .)
  4. The bodywork lines look fabulous, LuckyPhil! Welldone! What will be for airbox? Pods?
  5. Oh! When I saw that image of those sweet Guzzi, I thought, "Wow, milar has some cool buddies. Look at what they ride!" Now that we that is your stable, I am jealous! Nice selection!
  6. Disclaimer! The squeamish should avert their eyes! Now, for one, this is on an early Sport, so there "may be" variations in the wiring colors. Still, the connectors are likely same or similar. From the wiring diagram, it appears the left switchgear has ten wires, so the swithgear connector looks to be the larger AMP connector. Check my work, y'all!
  7. @p018guy - let me see if I can locate an image of the left side connectors under the tank. Perhaps we can discern which is the switchgear. Pretty sure they are "AMP" connectors. I'm kind of embarrassed that I can't speak to how to use "notifications." I've just never used them since I pretty much look at everything. Hopefully, someone adeptat that will comment . . . Otherwise, +1 on gstallons suggesting the tank should be pulled with forethought. And, I would add, a plan for other things to see to while it is off. To wit:
  8. I reckon that makes me jack-witted!
  9. Oh, dear! I LOVE Italian singles! I even googled it the other day, but seems that doesn’t necessarily mean motorcycles on the web!
  10. Heh. I just saw that and edited it, but not before getting called out by the quick-witted . . . Some of us may remember the kind of thing John Cameron Swayze used to put Timex watches through. That would be me and my Sport . . .
  11. Springs (Traxxion Dynamics) better matched to my weight and lack-rabbit* riding style helped mine (under 200 pounds in gear) along with oil selection and, especially, matching the Öhlins spring/ride height in the rear. Even tire selection/ air pressuure is part of the balance. It's a package challenge, IMO. Guzzimoto's compression damping mod has long interested me. As well as recent interest in the Andreani cartridges (watching for some actual feedback on them applied to the V11 . . .) *edit: "jack-rabbit", heh, yep. That's what I meant . . . I type like they build Porsches. Build 'em fast and fix 'em at the end of the line . . .
  12. Standard 2vpc 1200 covers with guards? Special gaskets?
  13. Joe! Hey!! Um, I thought "we" are "the service network" . . . .
  14. Bravo! Time to peruse the Tank off Maintenance Checklist . . .
  15. Hey, neighbor! Let me know what you need, shaun, I have a few spares on hand . . .
  16. That depends on how many times you paused it and zoomed....
  17. Twelve pages and, finally, a hammer shows up. And rather prominently!
  18. Who's song is that? Got a link to the song?
  19. So, my silver warranty gearbox, probably made in 2002, does not have the inscription on the bell housing.
  20. Aye. That is buried under my throttle body rail. Probably no way I can see that with the Sport assembled. And I would rather not see her otherwise anytime soon . . .
  21. I have a warranty gearbox. Never noticed the serialization. Where is it on the bell housing?
  22. That looks to be Joe Kenney's work. He's a solid guy and makes great pieces.
  23. Check your VIN against the PDFs in the thread in Fileshare:
