Hmm, properly adjusted the "High Idle Lever" should have no effect on throttle action. Interference with throttle rotation could be a number of other factors. Perhaps worth further investigation, @mikev . . . .

Registration here in Tennessee, USA, is on the month anniversary of the first registration of the vehicle with the current owner, usually the purchase date. This spatters my registrations rather randomly through the year. While it spreads the payments out, it also makes it easy to miss a renewal. One of the games we play when a bunch of bikes gather is to look for whose registration has dropped. It is always somebody. Also, here in Tennessee, a 25 year old vehicle is eligible for a one time, permanent "antique" registration. Special use restrictions apply (not supposed to be commuting on a daily basis etc). Next year, mySport is eligible.

The caps on the later V11 are NGK 5,000 Ohm resisters. The early V11 are Champion. I get mine from a scooter shop in England. Because they can be damaged (along with the sparkplug) in even a light tip-over, I carry spares in the monkey paw trap.

I am curious about the need for a remote preload. The Öhlins on mySport has one, but once set I never moved it again. Yet, I don't switch back and forth solo and pillion. Plus my pannier load-out and riding gear change very little. Perhaps a fresh rebuild and proper spring might be all you need?

The sticking gasket from the old filter is real and should be check each and every filter change. "Hand Tight" may have applied to external automotive filters, but is a formula for disaster on a V11 . . .

To take that a step further, the box section spine frame serves as a separator with the liquid fraction draining through the spine into the braided line that rejoins the oil sump at the back while the vapor fraction enters the airbox to be combusted. Or just gunk up the airbox . . .

In spite of carrying various talisman on my person, and on mySport, at all times, I am not much of a believer in luck. VooDoo, sure, but not "luck" . . . "Synthetic" oil runs the gambit of claims and allowances. Good luck finding out what the actual base oil is on your motor oil of choice. There are but a very few actual Group IV/ Group V base oils. That true, full synthetic motor oils do not suffer the heat-evaporative losses of other oils might suggest a lesser load on our crankcase ventilation and less stress on this failure-prone hose. Of course, very humid environs, storage conditions, and even tuning status (too much fuel load?) all contribute to what this crankcase ventilation hose has to suffer from . . .

I also wonder about the motor oil in use affecting the longevity. "Mineral" oils have a significant heat-driven evaporative component while true synthetics (Group IV and Group V base oils) do not. I did change my hose while fighting various oil leaks, I saved my take-off as it was not faulty. That was at about 100,000 miles/ 161,000 km.

I have always liked the last gen red LeMans. While actually not "Termignoni pipes", they are nice Titanium canisters. Replacement foot brake lever could mean a wee tip-over in the history . . .

Pretty sure, yes: "All 15M in the USA." Not sure I have ever heard of a "2006" V11. Or even a 2005 in the USA. I was thinking the 2005 Scura R was the last of the breed, but have never heard of one of those in the USA . . .

Ah, yes, the "tip-slosh" replenish. Been there too many times. No way I can go 200 miles. My safe refuel is closer to 160.

Well done, @Cabernet! I am honoured at the "thank you." Pretty sure my thermistor's use-cycles and hours have made it less responsive. It has become less of a "low fuel warning" and more of a laughing crow cawing, "You've Run Out of Fuel, you dolt !"
