  1. Yup totally agree, and with that first multi colored version that’s been circulating, has been getting a lot of interestAnd that press gets people into the dealer. So the V7lll and V85 might just help the surviving dealers. There is a surviving dealer in east Tennessee? Chattanooga?
  2. You're gonna have a hard time getting scolded for using Italian made, hydroformed exhaust. Exan is in Monza, even! The price seems reasonable, but what about the shipping?
  3. It looks very nice, white with the black block. I think its not original, when i check at the recall site of Moto Guzzi it sais Light Green. And that said the green ones only have red frames? But any way it’s drives great....... thanks for the welcome. Verzonden vanaf mijn iPad met Tapatalk The early "bright" green were all short RedFrame (1999-2001) with silver driveline. Yours is a long frame (2002 or "hold-over" 2003?) that likely started as this shade of green:
  4. I would offer th seller extra to bubble wrap each can and double box them. Man, are they ever fragile.
  5. Kiwi_Roy, the OEM Ducati Energia can be made "direct connect" by changing the source of the black "reference wire?"

    EICMA 2018

Ah, here is more on the "Fast Endurance" . . . all in Italian, so I'm vague on the details . . . https://rocket-garage.blogspot.com/2018/11/moto-guzzi-fast-endurance.html?m=1 In a class of those V7, that would be a blast on the track!
  7. The electronic gauges probably draw less due to the LED illumination versus the incandescent bulbs of the OEM clocks, but yeah: running heated gear? Charging devices? There are some real "bottlenecks" in the V11 charging system. It can be improved with some basics, but, like the Ducati 916, I've enjoyed saying, "She's got a wiring harness like a G-string . . ."

    EICMA 2018

It's V7 III made by Guareschi Moto for the Fast Endurance series(five 60-minute races). I guess I was thinking the Guareschi V7 was a one-off custom. This V7 looks to be displayed fronting an array of Moto Guzzi accessories leading me to believe I could turn my new V7 into that, with available parts?

    EICMA 2018

I thought about adding all this to your thread, but I like that it is about the V85 motor. I'm thinking we're going to be talking about this motor for quite some time! Apparently, no "road-going" V85 is presented at 2018 EICMA after all . . .

And this "LeMans" homage? Looks to be V9, not V85 . . .

Apparently, the Moto Guzzi display at EICMA this year is SO much better that passersby get so hot that fire extinguishers must be kept well at hand . . .

    EICMA 2018

First day of EICMA 2018 for the public. I see Moto Guzzi is presenting the "production" V85TT (versus last year's "concept"). It would be a good sign if Piaggio populated the display with models that don't smack of big, plastic camels like last year's desert tease . . . Is there a "road going" V85 as suggested?
  13. So, AN and JIC fittings cannot be discerned from one another by simple visual inspection? And, is there a name for the fitting with the two O-rings as fitted to the later V11 and shown in post# 36?
  14. I'm pretty sure the Rosso Mandello has unique paint combinations not found on any other V11 . . .
  15. And this 2004 post (followed by one from one "al_roethlisberger") https://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1797&p=28651
  16. Here is my plate being mounted (barely visible to the right of the left side fuel injector): And LowRyter's plate mounted (seen from the right):
  17. I feel like, someday, I'll have to change the original ( ) valve cover gaskets on my Sport . . . I did, finally, change the sump gasket, but it wasn't really leaking. Yet, the OEM V11 gaskets are not actually paper (certainly not "cork"), are they? What are they, then?
  18. On the early RedFrames ( maybe the Rosso Mandello?), it connects the bottom of the spine to the top front of the gearbox ahead of the throttle linkage rod. LongFrames (2002-2005) have no mounting tab for this part. [edit: Apparently the black Rosso Mandello Short Frame does not have the welded mounting tab.] This evening I will try to post an image of it mounted and a link to another thread about that plate.
  19. I decided to archive my original lever as they are ridiculously brittle. This one from Germany, has a nice design, and should be very robust.
  20. Grandmother said it would make you go blind.. Not if you throw sparks while at it!
  21. Pressure and voltmeter were Scud's work, so we'll wait on his answer on the sizing. Al, correct, the lighting is always on. The faces and the needles are lit separately.
  22. Installed the Das Mototec foot brake lever today. Not sure when I'll get to ride it, but it is a beautiful piece!
  23. All good so far. Trimmed just 3mm off the brake rod to get my play and adjustability back. Nothing like whacking off a part before you know if it's even available . . .
  24. Well, nuts. I also like a little "play" between the actuating rod and the master cylinder. This is as short as I can make the rod and there is no "play" to save my rear brake pads/ rotor. Looks like the rod will have to be shortened to use the later "bent" levers to suit my taste. FWIW, the neither the "brake rod" nor the Ball Joint changed through the V11 model run.
  25. Here are the three levers on the bench for comparison. Top to bottom: Das Mototec (available in the US through MGCycle), early Sport, late V11. Not sure how the "bend" and the length are going to change my set-up. I prefer the lever be set low and away to keep me from over braking too easily.
