  1. I wired my headlight circuit seperately via a pair of mini relays so now the regulator reference voltage stays constant and the handlebar switches dont carry the headlight current. Ciao +1
  2. When you come around, buddy, we've got the market cornered on camarda-rie. Beer-debt Plan: Find dream '04 V11 in the eastern US, Fly-Ride, take in a South'nSpineRaid. Win-Win-Win-Win!
  3. That just means dealer support will now be on par with Moto Guzzi... Dark. That is dark. FWIW, I have a tracking number on my last-ever parts order from My-Local-Moto-Guzzi-Dealer-In-Seattle-Washington. (A couple thousand miles away).
  4. Seems Motus closed up shop September1 this year. https://www.revzilla.com/common-tread/motus-motorcycles-ceases-operations-effective-immediately
  5. Hmmm, Mark, I don't think our brittle shift levers will bend, even heated. They tend to just snap off. Has anyone tried reshaping them?
  6. I hope you mean 200k kilometers . . . that "could be" in striking distance! Currently, (>hehcurrent-ly" . . . ), my R/R #3 is holding its own (give or take some battery light flicker at idle when the battery is full up) at over 8 years and 37,000 miles. I have a $150 EnDuraLast EDL-450 direct replacement spare on hand when the time comes. I'm also on battery #4 in eighteen years and 109,000 miles/ 175.000 km. This kind of service seems totally acceptable to me. Better than some Hondas I've owned.
  7. Original regulator on your V11, swooshdave? How many miles?
  8. Now you have me past my pay grade... I defer to others who may be able to improve on our set-up. Not sure what czakky "went back to", but "I think" the EDL450 is most like the OEM unit (?)
  9. Which electrosport model is it? I sourced this EnduraLast EDL450 from EuroMotoElectrics (Colorado, USA) for my fourth regulator. I am thinking this is the "OEM-style" replacement? (Not yet installed as it appears my third is yet in service even after 30-35,000 miles.)
  10. As much as I love (love-love ) red frames, a V85TT in "spruce/Tenni/Carcano" green would be my preference . . .
  11. That translation makes me wonder if I am among "the audience of orphan enthusiasts della Griso" . . . . The V85TT is interesting, but not beautiful, to me . . .
  12. Oh, man . . . Joe, I thought maybe you forgot about the beer I owe you . . . Cheers, buddy! Thanks for the Italy report! (I'm jealous )

Why worry? There are several layers of plastic between the AGM and our GoodBits.

Really just the battery, buddy. The pic I posted of the melted wiring was just tongue-in-cheek. (That's what happens when the main battery ground to the gearbox fails.) You could certainly be damaging some bulb filaments, relays, and fuses. But mostly it's about the battery. Seems your Regulator/Rectifier has failed. Mine seem to go about every 30-35,000 miles.

    The worstest?
  16. You guys have a magnificent weather weekend ahead! Guzzis loooooove cool, dry air!
  17. Go somewhere fun. I talked with MI today to confirm a parts order. I wished the fellow the best of fortunes. He said they are all hoping to regroup under another business perhaps by next summer. Best of luck to them all!
  18. A'hm purty sure them Red'spendered Kentuckians ain't got nuthin' on the creative tech solutions of South'n Spine Raiders . . .
  19. M, Seems valve clatter on a Guzzi would be fine as long as you're using a quality SG 20W-50 oil. (There are those who go even looser on the valves.)
  20. Take the 1400cc engine, add wheels, seat and handlebars. Done! After all, a proper Guzzi is just a delightful motor with a place to hang on and will your way!
  21. [ I'm not saying this applies to this bike, but V11 Rod Bolt Recall details here: https://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=14680&p=158632]
  22. Seems Chuck's "Mighty Scura" has had some significant engine work . . . not sure what-all? For sure, 10-15 more hp ain't easy to get out of these big donks. By itself, the Scura doesn't make any more hp than any other V11, although the lighter flywheel would surely affect "the feel" (?)
  23. I love those flat sixes (and fours)! Don't be too sure about that robot thing . . .
  24. I think it pretty intrepid for Moto Guzzi to have introduced this new model line with homage to their off-road history. Something the world, and many Guzzisti, know nothing of . . . With EICMA approaching, and the cruisers and bobbers and standards all covered, there just must-must-must be a Sport or LeMans coming. There must. Musn't there?
