  1. That may be a bit out of date. Not that any of that procedure caused your issue. Keep looking for something that got disturbed "where you've been." Otherwise, this is a much more up-to-date tune-up: Decent Tune-up
  2. I edited my post to credit 68C for this knowledge about carbon fiber conductivity. I so totally did not know this.
  3. Welcome, Gavin! Looking forward to the "future conversations!" That "head gasket" leak is probably something else. More likely the O-ring for the head bolt under the rocker shaft at the top-center of the head. Enjoy the lovely lady!
  4. The regulator is on the right side of the fuel tank where fuel from the injectors returns to the tank. Not at all sure that would cause your issue, but easy to check. What tune-up procedure did you use?
  5. The V11 motor is actually not offset like prior Guzzi Sports. I can see how the deceleration force though the right side driveshaft/gearbox output down low might introduce a torsional influence on the chassis.
  6. Re: "vacancies" . . . First, the "garage." We can fit three or four of our lithe, little sweethearts in each of those spaces otherwise filled to the brim with the more common highway bruisers. @Chuck: I'm betting someone can get you in a pull-out or roll-away in the event you happen upon the scene.
  7. Se that the connector for the TPS is not fouled on the fuel regulator. Where are your air bypass screws set?
  8. Truth be known, I keep things forever. What things? Everything! If I had gotten that GreenFrame1000S, I would not *know* all of you fine folks. A Tonti would be wonderful to own. And a Loop. But I feel really, really lucky!
  9. I promise to read through all of this, but had to pause at the second sentence just loving the concept of "maniacal valves!" ma·ni·a·cal /məˈnīəkəl/ , adjective Exhibiting extremely wild or violent behavior. [ Got to get-me some 'o them! ]
  10. I reshaped my contacts several times over the years. The last time I got really aggressive with standing them further out and they held up until I replaced the unit.
  11. Does the Parts "Fiche" show that the bucket itself is actually different than the LeMans?
  12. Or the springs are too soft (especially the rear) and the sags are not set . . .
  13. Not sure how I found the bike (pre-web), but made a deal with the owner on the phone ($6,000). Met at a little motorcycle shop to pick it up and the owner and his wife sat on a sofa while the dealer priced the bike to me at $6,600. He would absolutely not budge and neither would I. The owner(s) would not speak. My buddy and I felt quite assured walking away. I remember a couple things about the 1000S very distinctly: Riding it, I loved the motor (had never ridden a Guzzi before), but the shaft jacking coming out of the corners really threw me. So happy, now, that my RedFrame Sport dos not do that. I was stunned by the green frame just walking in the door. Assuming it was a black frame, the green just shocked me and put me off. Ever since, I've thought it absolutely delightful. (swooshdave was kind enough to do this mash-up for me last year):
  14. That does not make me lust after it any less . . .
  15. 1157 is OEM. The contacts get really bendy and shoved in. When the contact has been sketchy, the heat goes up and the metal goes soft. I finally had to replace mine.
  16. Good find! I added this link with an emphasis to the Wheels Off Maintenance Checklist. Thanks, again, BobH-man, for posting the outcome!
  17. Holy Marabese! I never thought of looking there! Definitely a good TechSession for the Fart'eenth South'n Spine Raid: Sidestand Wear Comparo!
  18. I so want to do this. And don't . . . but do! I'm in!
  19. Y'all are breaking my heart here . . . I am betting that GreenFrame 1000S was the one I dragged a trailer to Indianapolis to buy in about '99. The deal fell through and we dragged an empty trailer 600 more miles back home. The good news is, if I had gotten it, I would never had brought the RedFrame Sport into the fold . . . That GreenFrame is gorgeous, buddy!
  20. Oh, man! Thanks to Jaap for posting that band in "What do you listen to?" Got to enjoy their performance in Nashville. Just so much fun!
  21. Makes this sort of thing seem positively sane . . .
  22. Wow, Dave Swanson! What a sweetheart!!!
  23. " Ach du lieber himmel ! " (Just could not resist reposting that, !) I totally have never considered that carbon fiber is conductive! About 100 Ohms from one end of my exhaust canister to the other. Wow, 68C, thank you!
  24. I can vouch for footgoose. He has "nicely packed" and shipped a couple V11 items to me in the past. Solid guy!
