  1. I've come back to this several times and remain a bit mystified . . . Kinda reminds me of some of the "translations" in my V11 Workshop and Owner's Manuals . . .
  2. aaah . . . the classic Moto Guzzi race paint, "zinc chromate!" The lore suggests that Ing. Guilio Carcano was so obsessed with weight on the race bikes, he forbade painting. The concession was made to protect some of the alloy bodywork with (*perhaps* military surplus aviation) primer. So, your DoD nomenclature is appropriate! Another steeped part of docc's Tenni-wanna-be plain-ol'-silver Sport . . .
  3. Unplug the PC and perform a "Decent Tune-up." Gives you a baseline to decide if there is anything really "wrong." Examine the relays. If the last relay (Position#5) is not rated for high current, running issues can ensue. Install a full set of High Current OMRON.
  4. awwwwww . . . "plain old silver one . . . "
  5. If you're gonna hit a truck, hit a fire truck.
  6. Hoping to do a fluid flush and refill over the days to come while our temperatures allow . . .
  7. The nefarious rear shaft pinch bolt finally arrived and does not match the originals. Rather than mix two different fasteners, I fastidiously prepared and installed the originals.
  8. In a curve. With the throttle screwed on.
  9. One of the two best applications of Electronic Dance Music loops I have ever experienced . . .
  10. Here we go again . . . *Don't make me send the Big Brass Lady to spank yer bacon slicer!*

  12. Ok, that one for fun, but here is the real deal:
  13. The long-awaited Surf'n Spine Raid!
  14. I just had to lift (and play-on-words) a couple phrases from this *good conversation* . . . ". . . striving for perfection is only good craftsmanship . . . " *Crow // sourcing* . . . . caw!
  15. I was thinking that is how we're supposed to ride them on a daily basis . . . .
  16. Looks like a great piece!
  17. Thanks, Ian, How about a link to that unit? How large is the "driver?' It all fits in the steel Sport bucket? What color Kelvin? (Wow, 7000 lumen! )

    TIME FOR A DIET?

So, true. The vast majority of the customs are like physical "catalogs" of the work or products on offer. Not something built to ride. The V11 is fantastically versatile as is.
  19. What of that "White Horse?" Any insight or experiences?
  20. Too cool! I took mine out on some little traveled country roads where there were good places to pull off. I had the Stucchi flyscreen off at the time, so just two wrenches to budge the headlamp. Took me maybe five or six attempts, as I recall. I ended up going by the distinct low beam cut off as the high beam pattern is decidedly funky.

    TIME FOR A DIET?

[The post wasn't moved, just the links posted here, as well, for discussion.] I get that a lot of folks find the V11 heavy. Before the Sport, I had caféd a first year GoldWing. It was a fun and interesting project, but weighed 650 pounds. I wouldn't say that makes the Sport feel like a "lightweight" , but more like "fighting weight" by comparison.

    TIME FOR A DIET?

My RoadCrafter and gear weigh, like, 25 pounds.
  23. Freshens the fuel!
  24. Two different members have offered to send me these bolts. As always, you guys absolutely rock! So, after two weeks with these ordered from Dealer#2, he was informed that they are on backorder (at MGNA) meaning they must come from Italy; three to six (more) weeks. "Nah, never mind." I called Dealer#1 back as I had learned they did receive one of the bolts. The regular guys were out sick, so I regaled the nice lady with my plan to hijack a LearJet and steal a Bentley to come get the bolt. She got a good laugh, then spent about an hour, found the piece, put it in an envelope, and emailed me a tracking number! Things are looking up! Thanks, again, to everyone that has reached out to bail me out!
