  1. Same-same: (Fourteenth) South'n Spine Raid Weekend after Labor Day Tellico Plains, Tenn., USA *Get there. Bring tools*
  2. Looks that would make precisely two of you laughing!
  3. I know this topic is an aside to the main thread, but interesting, nonetheless. As far as motorcycling goes the Euro-bike sport/touring crowd (that often do their own work) is outnumbered here probably 10,000 to one by the highway tourers (GoldWing etc), and the cruiser crowd (HD etc.). Plus, folks have lots of space (generally) to store bigger toys (boats, cars, Jeeps, personal watercraft, quads, horses). An old Guzzi only needs an edge in the shed, yah? Although, I would lay odds that some of those folks might benefit by a custom-engineered spring somewhere in their lives . . .
  4. I bet you're right. You want the Yanks to turn out? Mention Jeeps and rampant destruction of equipment . . .
  5. Oh, man, this fresh crop of music coming from the "Roots-Americana" movement is inspiringly well written, well played , and well performed. This is not the glashy Korporate Kuntry. "Smooth as . . ." I noticed this comment on the YooToob page: "[An] Etta James I'd rather go blinde vibe"
  6. I this the Teacher's (Highland Cream)? [Couldn't find any Teacher's in town. The fellow told me it was blended and bottled by Laphroiag, while "White Horse" comes from the Lagavulin people. I passed and brought home an Asian single malt from Suntori Whisky: "Toki"
  7. Ah! I forgot about the early BalckFrame not having that mounting bracket! Guess you're going to have to taper back on the wheel stands and stunting . . .
  8. It occurred to me to post this observation: Once upon a time, I got the Sport into a false neutral which would not activate the neutral switch. My mind went all *sparky and wire nutty* until I discovered the operator error. Worth double checking before taking things apart . . .
  9. Well, you're not alone . . . Time to put that Sport 1100 together! (Like I'm one to talk; been down since Thanksgiving . . .)
  10. That's a thing? hmmm . . .
  11. Ah, *winter* in Pennsylvania . . .
  12. Adding the central frame support from the prior generation Sport might help the repair last indefinitely . . .
  13. Could be worse. Somebody (I'm not namin' names, but his initials are S-c-u-d) could be posting pictures taken today from some luscious SoCal valley. Notice how the Aussies and Kiwis are being really quiet about this sort of thing . . . lest ye provoke an ice-bound V11er with his spanners frozen to a 2-stroke Yammie . . .
  14. I recall some reporting improved switch function with a gearoil change, especially after cleaning the switch as MartyNZ describes. The switch is bathed in the gearoil, so it helps to drain the gearbox before pulling the switch. That can be done with the starter in place, but it is nice to have the bike upright if you have a chock or stand. Or a lift. A little shop stool. Some beer. You know: always use the full compliment of correct tools for the job!
  15. Weeeell, that is an "archived image." The weather here is *winter* and the Sport is till waiting for parts . . .
  16. From what I understand, Lawrence Welk kept a great band. I recall some stories that he was a strict bandleader. So, maybe if *Larry* had picked up a Les Paul and jacked into a stage stack . . .
  17. Haha, I tried just asking about that once at our post office. Dear me, the clerks went into defense mode; thought they might call the cavalry. Nice pieces, knumbnutz! That V11 just keeps getting better. I absolutely love the way the seat and tail place all emphasis on the tank/motor. What a bulldog!
  18. Draw me up what you want. I'll do it as fun thing so $30aud.Regards Neil Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk No beer involved? So . . . it is true. Things in New Zealand are different than Australia . . .
  19. voicie, what color is that "V-Twin ShockProof?" Does it look just like the pink Heavyweight?
  20. Yessir! 350ml of gearoil , 20ml of moly additive (Guzzi used to sell a final drive product, premixed. Seems Motul made it up for them, as I recall.)
  21. Only the RedBelly. The Rosso was a guest . . .
  22. Okay, so . . . I took the (moderator) liberty to add that image to LuckyPhil's post. I hope that is cool with LuckyPhil . . . This is sp838's V11. Here is his gallery: http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?app=gallery&user=9560 Everyone realize, we have some members that don't start threads, might not even post, but have amazing (AMAZING!) galleries. Do not miss exploring the V11LM Galleries!
  23. Ok, ok . . I have no idea where to post this video. It came to me through serendipity. There is no music. But, but-but . . . it is Billy Joel. Hendrix is mentioned . . . And, and-and: they pull out a failed voltage regulator from: Bruce Springsteen's (you guessed it): Moto Guzzi that BJ built for him (minute 2:50) ! Somebody, please, cue up a track that makes this make sense!
