  1. See? Jus' sayin' . . .
  2. Thanks for that. Word is my new bolts are (still) on the way. It really is way too cold here to ride, and they are brining the roads, so all is well. I suppose I do worry about doing something stupid I do that sends my shaft loose at speed.
  3. So, I got the two pinch bolts for the shaft ordered from another source. Frustrated, I ran a die down the two original 8,8 bolts. Does this act damage the integrity of the fasteners?
  4. Gotta get this done before sign216 busts us on blowing out his thread . . .
  5. Roper plates are, of course, a fine idea. That the lack of one would kill a V11 at 4,000 miles would put me on my twenty-sixth engine . . . Oil filter connection failure is a far more documented cause of oil starvation, it seems.
  6. That is what I was thinking: 2002 with the wiring harness change. But, as Chuck sez, not precisely at that instant, more like when the bin went empty. All the RedFrame Sports and Rosso Mandello likely started with the "electric cock."
  7. Sure would be nice if Mike Rich would be more forthcoming. As far as i know, he is the most experienced with these modifications in the USA? I know of riders that have had really good results with his work.
  8. I expect my original 106,000+ mile valve cover gaskets (not leaking) are simply part of the heads now and I should just layer on another set if the occasion ever arises . . . Kinda like roofing an old house in The South (US).
  9. Yeah, man, I recall that. The whole camshaft thing seems to turn into a rabbit hole . . . change the cam-> change the valves -> springs -> headwork -> porting-> pistons-> yadda-yadda . . . Seems a lot for a 10% gain. Along with the possible driveability tradeoffs. Maybe why there are so few who can share actual experience. You could become the world's foremost expert on this!
  10. Vlad, Were there no answers in that older thread? (Sorry, I did not have time to re-read it . . . )
  11. Check out Jaap's build in his gallery: http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?app=gallery&album=87&sort_key=&sort_order=
  12. Is that not The Chief Whip and his Gh-Br converted LeMans?
  13. Well, you nailed it, man: 25+ kg Or, translated into the local vernacular: SIXTY-FREAKIN'-POUNDS! No wonder the V11 responds well to "Arse oop. Hed doon," as Joey Dunlop once said . . .
  14. Watchbands for everyone!
  15. The Alcantara seat on the LeMans looks great! I really (really) want to recontour and recover the Sport seat in "bomber jacket" leather. Sounds like I could end up with a "whole hide" and gradually resurface my entire life in "bomber jacket" leather . . .
  16. That occurred to me,too, but it would only be part of the swingarm since its attached to the frame side plats. Not sure how one would calculate the weight distribution of the swingarm. It's really a wonder the V11 handles as well as does. Once the sags are sorted, that is . . .
  17. Flinky horn and flinky rev counter? Hm. Same relay(s). Or their base connections. Fuel pump is on an entirely separate wiring harness. Another fail point could be the battery voltage and charging (although, charging also depends on Relay 2) . cash, which OMRON did you install?
  18. Yeah, man. I remember no one ever figured this out before. There are the discrepancies we discovered and Rich's specification about modifying the heads to run his cam.
  19. Have a go at Relay #2 (counting from the front). Because your (delicious ) Rosso Mandello is an early V11, that current also passes through Relay #1 (front). Be certain you are running High Current OMRON relays and just treat your little lady to a full set! It is Christmas after all! http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=19755&p=216605
  20. Seems the V11 cam is a darn good piece, as it turns out. Interesting camshaft thread started by ScooRoo in October, 2016: http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=19653&hl=%2Bnorris+%2Bcam
  21. As of today (Christmas Day!), my latest version of Mac OS High Sierra 10.13.2 wouldn't open the guzzidiag version VO.47. I had to override the security block on "unknown developers" and connected to the Sport. Everything opens and reads fine. Cleared some stored faults. So, guzzidiag looks good to go on a Mac with High Sierra.
  22. thats an understatement ! Merry Christmas *afflicted* . . . . Merry Christmas, indeed!
  23. Ha, well, our search function is kinda like The Yellow Brick Road. You can get to The Emerald City eventually, but you are likely to be otherwise engaged and entertained on the way . . . > just watch out for the flying blue monkeys!
  24. ("leerlauf," then . . . ?) That's a good definition of OCV. Since most of us are checking the battery still in the bike, we are technically looking at SOC (State of Charge). The charts and tables sometimes use the terms interchangeably, but it's good to know the actual distinction. Thanks, gentlemen!
