  1. That *may* read .gpx files (?) If so, I have a stunning 287 mile loop west out of Marietta designed by a trusted navigator. I can email you a screen shot, or the entire .gpx. PM me if so . . .
  2. dad-GUM! "Hot showers AND flush toilets!"
  3. That's the North Carolina side of the Cherohala Skyway. NC has gone bonkers with road markings, flashing chevrons and warning signs. Although, I didn't see any law enforcement up there this year.
  4. Garmin. I think other GPS devices might see them also.
  5. Docc, do you know some of these roads then ? This *Topic* needs its own thread. nobleswood, I have some .gpx files for some of those roads if you can use them?
  6. Topic moved for better viewing and future *searchability . . .
  7. Didn't work for me on the Strada. Sounded the same, no matter where I put it. I should have realized it was an external source.. but was too stupid to make that connection. So, maybe if it sounds like it's "everywhere", it is external . . .
  8. Since we're on page twelve, I can't remember if anyone has suggested localizing the noise using a stethoscope (commonly available) as well as the "screwdriver method": using a long screwdriver, place the butt of the handle as to press the 'tragos" of the ear (the small cartilaginous flap) over the ear canal and placing the screwdriver tip at various points on the machine to find where the noise is most prominent.
  9. No apparent rake changes. All V11 are 25º . . . Scud's frames: 610mm - 590mm = 20mm. Published wheelbases: 1490 - 1471 = 19mm. Looks like the change is actually all in the frame length. Scud! Well done!
  10. Not so much, really. I was a little boy there and only rode the Sport there once. I did wreck a Cougar Eliminator there in the 70s.
  11. The question remains: do the frames have different actual lengths or was the longer wheelbase accomplished another way (triple clamps)?
  12. Let the squeamish avert their eyes!
  13. We even saved a seat for Bill . . .
  14. I did some growing up in a little town up river. Last time I rode the area, we crossed the ferry from Fly, OH, to Sistersville, WV. i love being with a group bikes on a ferry deck gliding over a river . . .
  15. Did somebody say *hammer* . . . ?
  16. I still can't find us where KillBoy was set up on NC28 ("The Moonshiner"), but Blueboarhound sent me this link to the photographer set up on the TN side of the Cherohala. As fun as it is to scroll through images 13 to 54, check out image 55, four minutes behind us. That dude on the Stornello was hunting us down!! https://xtremesportsphotography.photoreflect.com/store/Orderpage.aspx?pi=0QAK02U8040018&po=18&pc=574
  17. I bailed last year on the VinFest after going ten years. Mostly because eldest son married the following weekend, but also struggling with reasonable accommodations. Ace Corner is a fabulous spot and worth the extra few bucks to see the cafe bikes and that crowd and watch/ hear the racing from that infield hill at the last two corners before the finish straight.
  18. Yeah . . . durn. Seemed like such a good idea. GuzziTech will either catch it and cancel the order or I'll have some toe-benders for someone. Did I miss the fitting requirement on their product page?
  19. Dang, man, you know we all have bins of rods and screws. We could have saved you a small fortune in parts alone!
  20. OH! How do you mean, "work?" I have to alter my existing levers? I don;t see this disclaimer on the GuzziTech page . . . [i emailed GuzziTech about modifications. That would be a dealKiller for me. "docc is a purist" . . . ]
  21. $63.85US for the pair, shipped. I'm in. Gonna mount these and see how they do.
  22. Ah: Däs Mototec! http://www.daes-mototec.com/index.php/home.html Would that my Deutsch could serve me any better . . . Really great that MGCycle has these for us.
  23. That's a beautiful looking foot brake lever! Much more liking to the delightful (if fragile) design of the originals. Does it maintain all of the original dimensions?
  24. That's some nice hardware, buddy! Probably a bit of titanium in the mix!
  25. That was a nice way to start the day early this morning. Made me feel like I ridden the Sport to work. Through Arizona.
