  1. Traxxion Dynamics did a great job of spec'ing my fork springs and spacers. Under a hunert bux, too! They were kinds *squeaky* for while, but that settled down. I even removed them and polished the outer surfaces a bit so the animals I ride with would quit making comments about my forks sounding like a kids' swingset . . .

    Brand-new Scura

Man, that is a spectacular result for how far you had taken that bike down. Especially considering how many other bikes you've had apart lately . . .

    Decent Tune-up

Chuck, what kind of exhaust/ intake mods on the Mighty Scura? Also, you feel confident that the TPS baselined on a clean throttle plate?

    Decent Tune-up

Hi, kiwidave! Yes, the manual specifies both the baseline TPS setting and another at idle. The consensus has been to set the idle where the bike simply idles well without concern for the "degrees of opening" or millivoltage exhibited by the TPS. This is in Step 6 of the Decent Tune-up. Also, note that the TPS idle setting is a range while the baseline is specific. As always, YMMV and there are numerous other *fine tuning* steps that you can move on to.

    Brand-new Scura

So, Scud, was the fuel level sensor unplugged as you suspected leading to the fuelus interuptus on the first shakedown run?

Centerstands are for pendici nord! Rise up and strap your V11 to the joists like a real man!
  8. pretty impressive, John Mayer doing Garcia's part. Those are no small shoes to fill! "Mamma don't allow no bass in this place!"
  9. Heh - I'm not sure it's better that I can deploy a 10mm ball drive on demand now, or go back to trying to make one out of my battery fasteners . . . One may *live and learn*, but might not be having more fun!
  10. And you hauled this home with the 18" speaker and cab for a hunnerdbucks? Sweeet! What's for output tubes, like two 6L6?

Use your platform jack and a chain fall (or hoist) to crab the Champagne, and your factory shop stand to remove the Red LeMans shock?

Yeah, you wouldn't want it happening, say, 5ยบ north of the equator at 4.000 meters elevation . . . (Dakar Rally-Raid): I'm thinking whoever passed by in the MINI is not the rider's understanding wife . . .
  13. I'm not sure I'm seen Tomaselli on a V11 . . . ? The Tomaselli on my son's V7 are magnificent, but took him a few goes and a couple years to get them adjusted just right. Apparently, "infinite" adjustment can be a tricky balance on a bike like a Moto Guzzi who's reference points might be *eccentric!* Reference one field expedient attempt in Gorgeous George's pseudodocumentary of the Eleventh South'n Spine Raid beginning about minute 4:07: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWwv2ZOxf64&feature=em-upload_owner The take-away: bring a 10mm Allen drive!

Ewww . . . I love the way the hoist slides right around the lift . . . this would making *Crabbing the SpineFrame* a self-contained affair without making the dining room floor upstairs creak. I haven't used my (color matched) platform jack yet, but it sits at the ready at the foot of the lift (aka The Revered Sport's plinth).
  15. "Pond Circles" . . . wouldn't that just be bad navigation on the part of the aliens?
  16. This is true. I have long thought it would be better to have free rotation at these points. If anyone is going to solve this, it will be this V11LeMans Community!
  17. Scura-Tenni talk
  18. Truly . . . I want to think it *quaint*, but my my 100,000+mile V11 flywheel is making *Pinzgauer* sounds . . .
  19. I just can't figure out why this new Ford Mustang has me so captivated . . .
  20. I thought this observation hilarious!
  21. Awesome! Was that at RedRocks Amphitheater?

  24. WOW, Pete ! Thanks for the fabulous reply. It's not just anyone who will surrender their nasty kludges! Curiously, Goofman and I had this conversation about the oil check procedure being *apparently* different. The English translation in the V11 manual says to "screw it (the dipstick) up." Since I've been doing this (screwing things up) all my life (mechanically and otherwise ), this just seems natural to me . . .
  25. hahahaahaha! Too freakin' funny . . . . "Stay away from the bassman, ladies . . . . "
