Haha, well "helping with the confusion" wasn't how I should have put that... -
Andreani upgrades for V11 OEM Marzocchi forks
docc replied to al_roethlisberger's topic in Technical Topics
2003 Carryover Sports have been reported from the UK (stewgnu and Guzzimax) and New Zealand (02V11), so not just a US thing. There were some apparent US marketing attempts with the 2001 Sport that gave us the "TT" and the "CF" that mixed the color palette of the otherwise monochromatic early Sport. Audiomick's 2002 LeMans with various 2003 features seems an anomaly . . . -
This is the topic post marked as the "answer" and references the pages with the installation details:

Lucky Phil was replying to Audiomick. Mick actually created a separate topic to help with the confusion: Knowing if your 2003 V11 is actually a 2002 "Carryover" will direct your parts searches to the 2002 Parts Catalog and save much grief: -
That Starter Relay Harness might address your later generation V11 starting issues (startus interuptus), but not the hot fuse. My final solution was the Aircraft Spruce (Tyco) service relay.

During one particularly rocky stretch with mySport, I started calling her Butterball, but one of the kindly members here talked me off that ledge. On North American V11 the metal headstock tag is inscribed with the month/year of actual manufacture. Does your V11 have this, @audiomick?

Guzzimoto has a good method to set your sags and determine if the springs are too soft. If that is the case, correct springs make a huge improvement and are not very expensive. Otherwise, you can calculate how much additional preload is needed with your existing springs (don't cut them). -

So the compression damping adjustment was eliminated on these forks? [ I should not have commented at all and will take my uninformed post down. ] -
If your "Battery Tender" has the typical "trickle" voltage below 13.2 volts, Odyssey states the battery will be damaged. If your static voltage is below 12.65, they say the battery will not charge with less than 6 amps applied. Monitor that charge voltage does not exceed 15.0. Discharge and repeat until stable. Pretty sure this thread details that conditioning procedure. If the battery is deeply discharged, there is another procedure referenced for recovery.

Drop-dead gorgeous! You know, for a couple more bucks, you could'a had a red one . . .

2022 would make for a pretty rare Scura! (Lucky_Phil for the save . . .)

Thanks, Phil. moderator edited

Likely an early production, then. Does it have finned steel exhaust header flanges? What is the build date (month/year) etched on the left side headstock tag?

This would be really interesting to confirm. When new, mySport would dribble fuel from the bottom of the throttle body shafts. Guzzi authorized a warranty replacement of the entire throttle body rack including the injectors and TPS. Once installed (another story), my dealer told me that if I pressurized the system (turned the bike on and off) or started and ran it briefly, it would still drip. and they did do. Of course, early on, I was starting the bike bike up ALL THE TIME just to hear it or show it off!

I have oft likened balancing the throttle bodies to tuning a musical instrument. There is a great, settling joy when the harmony is found.

I have seen many V11 tachometers adversely affected by a marginal Relay (especially #2 on the V11Sport/LM). That function is far more sensitive than the headlight. One can hope (while being deliberate and knowledgeable) . . .

Certainly, V11 are known to tune better with the airbox. Yet, a careful and meticulous "Decent Tune-up" is in order . . .

Sounds like it is in common with the early (1999-2001) Sport, then. The group of two are the last two in our V11 Sport/LM: Fuel/Ignition and ECU. The group of three will be Start (with the weak NC contact), the "Headlight" relay that includes the tachometer feed, and the "Sidestand"/Neutral switch relay. If they are all the same size (micro-ISO) as our V11, then the OMRON are well indicated. It would be quite a victory if the tachometer normalizes!
