  1. I found this at http://www.springfixlinkages.com/en/catalog/metric-linkages/ball-and-socket-joints/plastic-ball-and-socket-joints/r3520 in the UK:
  2. I'm not seeing a "ball-socket" rod end from McMaster-Carr small enough (8mm ball, M5 rod) . . .
  3. The ball is 0.315"/ 8mm. Overall length just over 29mm. Thread to the throttle rod: 5mm x 0.90 mm thread pitch (Kinda hard to get that pitch measurement, so it would good for someone else to double check that.
  4. Right, part of the "Throttle Assembly" : 01 11 25 60 Gruppo corpi farfallati /Throttle assy /Corpe à papillon compl./ Korper mit Drossel, kpl. http://www.mcmaster.com/# ?
  5. Andy York's excellent install. He said it wasn't exactly "plug & play." That's not exactly what he said, but he curses so much more expertly than I.
  6. I would so love to go there, as we all would I am sure. I would feel a bit of a tourist taking the train or hiring a car to arrive and walk up. Better to ship my Sport to The Netherlands, meet up with a few of you fine chaps and ride from there. Crazy difficult, sure. But isn't that what pilgrimage is made of? Orson, thanks again for the inspiration! . . . Mandello Spine Raid?
  7. Certainly one of the two best looking Scura in the whole world!

    Gone Guzzi

I have my replacement freezer. So, your new Guzzi is next!
  9. The open relay contacts get corroded? Not unlikely on the salty Atlantic coast . . .
  10. No matter what, periodically snug all the fasteners that anchor the sidestand to the engine. One of the V11's Achilles' Heel:
  11. More like "WTF?" which is something like what I said when my forks hit the floor.
  12. James, Roy has often said that if cycling the ignition switch affects your bike's function, it should be disassembled, cleaned, and inspected for broken connections. Easy job worth the effort! Also, be sure you have tight connections to a high quality relay in position #2.
  13. Those look like very nice pieces! I am not clear if the prices are for one each or a pair?
  14. I've never seen a happier V11! Look at that big smile on her face. BTW, highest and best use of the factory spindle: curious Italian shelf art:
  15. Beautiful stuff, and, oh my - The Odello!
  16. "Old school?" See, more V11 analogies! I wish my cheap-ass bass had better pick-ups, controls, and output. I've rewired it a couple times and replaced the capacitor, but it's no impressario.
  17. +1 - swapping the springs seemed good for me, although wouldn't mind if the seat latch spring were a little softer as well. Not sure what makes the internal friction in the thumb lever, or can it be tightened? No matter what, be certain your idle is really high enough to begin with and the high idle control becomes more a matter of convenience. (I prefer my idle on the high side, 1200-1400 depending on conditions).
  18. Some guys look at their bikes like women - sure, they look great all dressed up, but taking things off is good, too . . . "You Can Leave Your Hat On." https://www.google.com/search?q=You+Can+Leave+Your+Hat+On&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8#q=You+Can+Leave+Your+Hat+On&tbm=vid
  19. I'd like to add that LED charge indicator one day (even though mine ain't broke!) Fascinating to find someone who actually builds electronics. I thought they came about this way:

    Go_Winkie!

I'll probably rebuild my Go_Winkie next "Tank-off" with the LED and a resistor. I haven't ridden it yet to see how visible it is - maybe it's fine the way it is ( I was hoping for *green*, though . . .) If the location and visibility are good, I'll pull the fuse and only activate that circuit if the Sport develops an intermittent fault while running at rpm. Easy, then, to pop in the fuse and the Go_Winkie is on the job! Should I be concerned that the resistor will be hot and need a heat sink or other consideration?
  21. Such neat, tidy work. The loom on your V11 must be impeccable!
  22. My cable goes under the cross brace, but again, my Sport has the earlier angle drive rather than the "bent tube" of the later black face ITI. Hopefully, a qualified expert will shortly post >>>
