  1. That looks really nice with your tank!
  2. What are you taking off?
  3. I know when Fergal posts his Irish gathering it's time to get serious about the Spine Raid. . . . . or "Baffi e Chiacchieroni" if that strikes you as more astute.
  4. The tire charts I've looked at for the 4.5 inch rim seem to allow for a size over (170) and a size under (150) with the 160 landing in the middle of the range.
  5. You forgot to say "stone cold!"
  6. Standard fitment for the early V11 Sport was a 170. Many of us have gone to 160, but I've not heard of going down to a 150 - that seems mighty narrow for the 4.5" rim. I've used up quite a few Angel ST with no complaints and am currently working through my second or third GT which seems to give a better "end of life" margin as they play up. When the ST looks like it's getting thin, they're done!

    Old V11 Article

Probably fine just to post it in this thread. Yet, I'm not the best at knowing how to post a .pdf since it can't be done with a hammer . . .
  8. Hey, the Italian translation in the manuals refers to it as the "electric cock." I kind of think the Italians know they are doing this sort of thing, linguistically, and just think it's a big laugh. We can always be boasting around the "other kinds of motorcycles" that ours has one of these *special* devices!
  9. Working on a 2000 V11 Sport is like fixing hammer - you can do this! First - off with the tank? See the Tank off Maintenance Checklist in FAQ Let's be sure all the hose routing is solid and the petcock itself is squared away. Do you have the original electric petcock or has it been swapped for a manual one?
  10. She'll do! You meant "prescient" like Scud said though . . . right? . . . .
  11. Search Tutorial in "Motha of all V11 Forums" Hope that helps!
  12. You have come to the right place! While we pass the Kool-Aid around daily, this community is really honest about the things that V11 need and the various ways to approach them. I remember a period article saying (the V11) was a (fine bike), but would require some "owner attention." Indeed so, but once fettled these are great machines. What color is the '02 you're looking at?

Yah - don't miss one of my all-time favorite fotoguzzi vids! Moto Guzzi Fall Colors
  14. A shock/spring change is going to make such a HUGE difference for you! (Re-set your "sags!") Is Öhlins, once again, available for the V11?

  16. So, bones, I'm thinking the power feed to the relay Pete is suggesting you would have to add. That is why you won't see it on the wring diagram.
  17. Sparky and the Wire Nuts . . .

    Old V11 Article

Yah - the early Sports (and Rosso Mandello) have compression on the left and rebound on the right. Points off for the author saying the frame dates back 30 years. Not so - the spine fame came in with the Daytona (1992?) I do enjoy the old write-ups and have not seen that one. What magazine was that in?
  19. A lot of V11 shifting troubles have been sorted by fettling the foot shift lever, making sure it isn't contacting the "pork chop", changing gearoil, and bleeding the clutch fluid. All worth trying! That said, it would be good to know the early, faulty sliding dogs have been changed in the recall. When mine played up, it wasn't just 3rd, but worst in the lowest gear changes.
  20. Thanks for that. I never thought of it that way and it makes perfect sense!

    Autumn 2014

That is a darling photo of a beautiful motorcycle!
  22. Makes me feel like Santa Claus . . .
  23. Actually, the photo archives of the earliest (2003) Spine Raid are lost to Forum Reconstruction. Bill, you aren't holding some pictorial evidence of that first foray to the Athens Super8? (We started out staying at some really classy places . . .
  24. Look on the swing arm - there are several labels added there that are not on the European vehicles. I cannot remember if you have to remove the "hugger" inner fender to view them.
  25. Oi, the likes of KTM are going to great lengths to electronically control front wheel loft. V11 has got it built in!
