  1. "Just Jane!" I love that the V11 has *roughly* the same power-to-weight ratio of a P-51 Mustang. If you just happen to have one in silver with a red frame and some checkerboard motif, so much the better!
  2. The V11 can be coaxed into a high front carry; it's the landing that could bust the left rear frame connection off the top of gearcase. It's been reported more than once . . . This prompted me to add the center frame brace that was common to the Sport 1100, but makes fussing about in that area quite difficult.
  3. Yeah, I don't see those lamp sockets in the diagram. maybe they're part of the speedo & tach assemblies? I remember pre-repairing mine with JBWeld to keep them from coming apart. Jetdoc, Can you repair yours? What year is your V11 (white face Veglia or black face ITI)?

  9. The right exhaust on the V11 is further out on the right to clear the shaft drive complex. A lot of the "high pipe exhaust", like the factory "Titanium" tuck back in at the top and look pretty symmetrical.

  11. How could the aluminum flywheel be tested? I know of "Magnaflux" testing, but think this is only for ferrous materials . . .

  16. That V11 is a rather storied ride having been in your loving possession for quite some time, did it not come from forum member JRT and has that incredible R90S fairing?
  17. Yamazaki - it's delightful, a nice body and complex with a good balance. Not the gear oil I usually drink, but more sophisticated. Reminds me of my GB 500! Somehow (read: motowfo), Ron Zacapa showed up at the last Spine Raid. Fabulous! It certainly rivals some of the fine single malts.

It's not uncommon for the rubber intake to slip off and give trouble like you describe. Otherwise, it could simply be time for a full tune-up from valves and TPS and spark plugs through throttle body balance,
  20. While your speedometer is entirely mechanical, the tachometer must have quit for a different reason. Luhbo (Hubert) often reminded us that there is a common internal fault (I'm thinking he said it is a fragile coil that breaks?), but the second relay also powers the tach. Be certain all of your lights are working (headlight/brake light/horn), otherwise the bike will not be charging.

  22. +1 on getting good access. It's a good time to clean up the mess and have at the Tank Off Maintenance Checklist.
