  1. So, mySport has seen 7,000 rpm. As recently as yesterday. But, I don't ride it around cruising at 7,000. My target is 4000-4500, but I know it cannot be hurt at 5000. Sub-4000 is a bad idea for a V11, on several levels, if I am to believe expert advice generously offered here from experienced members. Again, I note that riding at 4,000 rpm with a 300-500 rpm tachometer error is problematic. Ever more so at idle. Yesterday, in spite of my best backroad navigation, I got caught at in intersection with heavy cross traffic from a school let-out. The heat index was over 100ºF/38ºC. Using the high idle control, I brought the idle up to about 1500 rpm+ to keep the oil flow up for those 6-8 minutes. Not sure how much longer the V11 would have sustained that torture. She was decidedly overheated as I shot across the intersection in a wee gap . . .
  2. I swear I felt like that, pitching mySport about on the backroads, today. She and I got along rather swimmingly, her autopilot and mine.
  3. A man with proper priorities!
  4. Sure, any new and unused relay might solve an issue, but lay its failure in wait. What relay came out of Position #1 that could have been worse than a GEI? A TYCO, perhaps? Not the dreaded OEM Seimens?
  5. At one of our South'n SpineRaids, an experienced technician used a "tablet" (or something like that) to connect GuzziDiag. I was impressed with the handiness! I was given this Samsung/Android "SmartPhone" as a SatNav tool since I complain bitterly, and endlessly, about my Garmin experiences. Not sure where my SatNav is going, but that is another topic . . . What would be the smallest, most reliable "handheld" device to connect GuzziDiag in a remote setting?
  6. GEI for ages" and "now" issues? May be time for some true, high current relays, especially in the critical positions.
  7. Will GuzziDiag load and run from a Samsung Galaxy A14 5G running Android version 13?
  8. GEI relays? Oh, dear . . . Surely, something more proven and reliable could be had there . . .
  9. I recall bending the connector spades 90º to make space in the bucket . . . Yet, again, the early steel bucket is completely different from the later V11 headlamp buckets, including the reflector and the lens. So, no idea what kind of solution this is for later V11 . . .
  10. I mean, jus' sayin' . . .
  11. Has anyone used the quality VintageCars LED "H4" replacement in the later V11 plastic bucket? This "H4" LED has great beam patterns in mySport's steel (Bosch) bucket. Almost 4 years/ 18,000 miles/ 28.500 km. https://vintagecarleds.com/shop/bulbs-only/vcm3-bulbs-only/
  12. A higher idle is good medicine for the Guzzi Big Block on many levels. It is worth verifying any tachometer error with something like GuzziDiag. The white face Veglia have often been found to read 300-500 rpm high. This is, perhaps, no consequence cruising at 4,000 rpm, but an indicated 1,000 rpm idle could be an actual (ungood) 700 rpm.
  13. Gut yer cans while you can, lads! Rip some holes in the atmosphere!
  14. Apologies for this follow-on, but pretty sure this is what mySport runs on: Seven Spanish Angels . . .
  15. I know we are not the only guests at The Lodge at Tellico, but this is our 14th year staying there and the innkeeper has a special admiration for our "unique-ness." Not the least of which involves his garage area and our dedicated, passionate, TechSessions. Did I mention the tools? And the "Get There " part?
  16. "Some Guzzi Guy " was proud to make the acquaintance!
  17. Lodging update, four weeks out: Bryan says he has one Basic Room open for our weekend, both Friday and Saturday nights. Again, there are other places to stay in the vicinity, but their occupancy is probably limited at this point, as well. Word is, the TechSessions will be "lively" this year . . . Get There. Bring Tools.
  18. Noodling around our rural countryside, I routinely watch for "country stores" with gas pumps. Preferring to fuel at high turnover, branded stations, I rarely fuel at these small stores. Their grand value is the lady in the kitchen who cares that no one goes hungry and the friendly, engaging folk that both work there and the patrons. Confidence is extra when the parking lot is jammed with work trucks and farm vehicles. . .

    Normal? Yep. Desirable? Nope.
  20. That occurring can be a sign of throttle body imbalance (or imperfections in the tuning parameters, i.e. TPS and valve adjustment variances).
  21. Still very interested in @BlackEmperor_Moto's length measurement on his existing inner spacer . . .
  22. That ("web search") works using just the numerals. My first seven results are a water gauging station on the Shenandoah River in Virginia, USA, but #8 is the part at Harper. Of course, the fact that I already searched and found that part at Harper caused the search engine to hand it back to me like it knew what I was looking for already. There is some matter of tautology in this web search business.
