Nineteenth South'n Spine Raid 2023 Tennessee USA
docc replied to docc's topic in Meetings, Clubs & Events
Perfetto! It will be fun to gather at the pavilion and try to recount all the different Guzzis Bill Hagan has ridden to South'n SpineRaids since the first in 2004 . . . -
Perhaps perfect timing . . .

100 days out to the SSR XIX. Striking distance! -
What year is the long tank Sport, @Guzzi-in-Vancouver ?
-
How about a red tank protector? https://www.motorstock.it/en/tank-guard/5259-moto-guzzi-tank-guard-red.html

Link to @Chip Seal's silve Sport story:

Plausible deniability.
-
Nice improvement! Takes the black valve covers back toward the originals (shown here with a little extra red on the Joe Kenney headguards) . . . Seems your "black accent" silver Sport already has the exhaust hangers changed to red . . .

A triple-digit parts bike! Know that the clutch/flywheel of your Tenni and the LeMans differ and the "clatter" with clutch action will be inverse . . .
-
Maybe more like, "undeniable patina " . . .
-
So, @Tomchri, you think you will change the fork rake back to original on that hyper-Greenie?

DeTomaso eagle, yes? Gambalunga eagle:

I remember when the common wisdom was, "They get loose, but can't fall out." From a first hand incident, "Yes, they can fall out." Much to the dismay, and disarray, of the bikes following behind . . .

Oh, well, yes . . . there is the matter of greasing the front U-joint. Especially on the the early RedFrame Sports . . . So much of this is in the Tank Off Maintenance Checklist and Wheels off Maintenance Checklist As to major mechanical rebuilds, that hasn't turned out to be of the most concern, as far as I have seen.

Seriously, other than Relays, Battery, and Tune-up: the three most neglected areas on V11: > Rear drive: far right side needle cage. > Sidestand fasteners, both, but especially the high torque large bolt. > Charging system failure (ungrounded regulator, melting 30 amp fuse, broken stator wires).
-
After this last valve adjustment (no changes to the lash), I did have to cave in and replace the right side, original valve cover gasket. I suppose I should go ahead and do the left side . . .
-
Makes me ponder how I would list mySport, as to "condition" . . . > Lunar Lander Module, well used, expertly seen to. Various re-entry burns evident. <

The Citroën reference gives me pause, and nervous memories . . . Is see the Dynotech.de ++ Greenie has some special triple trees, @Tomchri. Has the fork angle been changed from the factory 25º to something steeper?

@Chip Seal's silver Sport:

Remarkable fuel economy! I suspect a very "steady state" throttle at a rather constant rpm . . .
-
Have you ever heard a V11 rider complain about running issues from 5000 rpm and up ?!? WHEEEEE-eeee-EEEEEEEE~E~E~E ! ! ! ! ! ! !
-
With that, and a way to set your TPS mV, you will be golden. (After plugs and a valve adjustment.) Then, meticulously synchronize the throttle bodies . . .
