You might try loosening all the exhaust mounts including the header nuts and see if the system will 'relax' in a less strained position. Ret ighten from front to back.

Check the member list and contact Andy York at Corse Motorsports in Nashville. He's fitted a set of Guzzi hardbags for the EV series to his 02 LeMans. Very nice indeed. I may be mistaken but aren't those bags Hepko-Becker?

Can anyone confirm the spring rate of the stock Marz spring? How about a chart showing dressed-out rider weight to spring rate?

Next time try sitting on the bike to start it with the side stand up and in neutral. Be certain the neutral light is coming on. Working the side stand a few times and working the gear shift will better ensure these switches are giving current to run. If this doesn't do it, reseat the middle relay.

In spades. We have the Tennessee Valley Authority who has provided us with an elaborate network of turbine ceement ponds which provide fun, recreation and about 2/100 of one percent of our electricity. "The Dragon" ( Deal's Gap) is surrounded by the Cheoha Dam at it's head and the Calderwood at the tail. On our way to the North Georgia mountains we'll pass the Ocoee River where the white water kayaking for the Atlanta Summer Olympics was held. Weird when they divert the stream into a flume to generate leaving the stream bed a trench full of boulders and puddles. Certainly one of the finest uses of ceement ever devised.

Dlaing's figures for the output will determine if you regulator is up. Checking connections and fuses first is always good medicine. Last year my warning light and the voltage readings led me to a new regulator.

Testor's is sold where models are sold. Although I used the spray paint I applied it more like touch up paint by spraying a puddle on a card and using a brush for small chips and scratches. For sure a paint shop can make a match and provide better qualtiy paint. Probably have to buy a quart and I hear auto paints are pretty pricey these days. Can a powder coat be made to match or do you just get whatever red they have?

I tried the fingernail polish. On top of it drying much darker and just matching very poorly there was the shopping and checking out with the cosmetics. Perhaps if I'd bought some panties and eyeliner at the same time my fate would have been sealed. The Testor's model paint was painless to purchase and the match is uncanny.

The closest match I have found is Testor's Italian Red. It is good quality enamel yet results will always be limited by surface preparation and rattle-can draw backs.

I have rubbed the forward part of the stand also, buggered the bolt head that keeps the bike from running with the stand deployed. With the stock cans , the leading edge of the can would touch first on the right side. I haven't touched anything on the right since changing to the Mistrals. The last time I was over that far to the right the traction went away and the whole right side touched down. From Parks' book I recall he proposes shifting the weight well to the inside in order to hold the bike up straighter in the corner. This and his advice to make a quick, brief and early turn-in should be good technique to keep the hard parts off the tarmac.

It is , once agian, time gather Spine Frames together and enjoy the delightful roads of the Tennessee-Georgia-North Carolina mountains. This is an informal gathering rather than a 'rallye' per se. Don't expect a trophy. On the other hand the roads are, indeed, a delight and you already know that anyone who shows up is going to be fun and interesting. The chance to park a few spineys together and compare notes is worth the price of admission (there is none, remember it's not a 'rallye' and when it's over I was never there). Bill will be back from his travels in the motherland and will inspire us with recountances of the sense and feel of IT-lee. If you start to practice now you will master the proper Appalacian pronunciation in time to declare that, "Naw, it ain't Japneeze. It's made in IT-lee, ya'll." Sweetwater, Tennessee, is on I75 between Chattanooga and Knoxville. This BestWestern caters to riders and is a very nice facilty. Be sure to mention you are coming to meet riders and they'll give you their best rate. My plan is to gather Friday morning south of Nashville and head over TN 30 out of Mcminnville past Fall Creek Falls returning that way on Sunday. july 21- 23, 2006. Saturday I'd like to loop down into North Georgia to Tucker's Corner for lunch, stop by TWO (Two Wheels Only) Campground and have my way with Wolf Pen Gap Road. From Sweetwater and Tellico Plains the Cherohala Parkway and Deal's Gap ( The Dragon) is also within striking distance. Some of you may want to PM or eMail one another to combine lodging. Sorry, Redneck Girls will not be provided for entertainment again this year. Like Grappa, you must BYO.

Right, 33 ft, 37 rr. I've been running the rear up to 39 for fast highway runs but trust the 33 psi front to stick better than higher pressures.

Setting the preload on the shock often improves ground clearance. Have you checked the sag? My Sport touches the sidestand considerably less with the suspension set up.

I had thought the older spines were offset more but that these still retained some. The frame schematic shows the offset of the porkchops 8mm to the right. And my front subframe mounts to the engine are asymmetric. Not by the 12mm but more like the 8mm shown in the frame schematic.

I promised myself I'd stay off ' 24/7 V11 ' because of the divisiveness which pervades the non-v11 threads in that forum. I thought I would be safe over here talking about injectors and viscosity. . .

And to add to the eccentricity , the whole driveline is set off to the right of the frame's centerline something like 12 mm. We are an eccentric bunch. And our bikes, too!

Paul, Based on my swingarm experience that you helped me with, I'd say HMB is a great outfit. We are all probably lucky to have them as a major source of parts.

So, it is true that the factory sold all the V11 spares? And also true that they were sold exclusively to HMB Guzzi?

I certainly agree. If it were just the sense of 'stronger running' I'd say it was my wishful thinking. While the old battery kept a steady 12.7v the new Hawker is 12.84 v. Yet the regulator should level this off to its presets. Here again, the tach is about 300 rpm higher at idle, fuel economy dropped about 2 mpg, and the fuel light came on at 4.3 gallons instead of 4.6. No huge differences but enough to suggest a significant change. I did change the relays from Bosch to GEI as well but after I noticed the rpm increase. I'll have to go into the TPS and see if it's throwing a higher mV than when it was last set.

I'm still amazed at the difference in the Sport's running with the new battery. Stronger throught he rev range, higher idle. Now I've noticed it's running richer ( higher TPS voltage?) and the fuel lght comes on MUCH sooner and much more brightly.

True about the inner amber lenses. I think they were about $1.00 each. I hurried home from the Harley dealer with mine, all excited. The lenses almost ended up costing $170 after the Trooper invited me to court.
