  1. On the early frame the increased damping contributes to the high speed weave. I keep it at zero until the front tire wear begins to give the wobbles , then increase the damper four clicks til I get a new tire.
  2. Subtle Scura pun?
  3. Here, here! A toast! "We few, we lucky few. We band of brothers!" ws
  4. I wonder if Guzzi has checked trademark rights to use that name in America. It has been a long time since "Norge" has sold refridgerator/freezers here. Many have never heard of them, but we medium-old guys might have trouble poudly telling our buddies we're riding a Norge. I hate to wish difficulty on theireffort but it would be forunate for the name to be blocked here and force them to use a name that roughly translates: "handsome, powerful creature" But "Icebox?" Oh, no . . . "Grantourrismo" would look nice in stylish script.
  5. These are good looking bikes. Amazing they can get so many variations on the Cali tank with just patterns of paint. The "Norge" name is so unfortunate here. I'm surprised trademarks will allow it. It is like naming your daughter "Large."
  6. These bikes have such allure! Do all the Tonti frames have the same head angle geometry ? Even the SP and the Jackals and Calis?
  7. Does this mean that when I moved my 'closed' setting from 165mV to 150 mV the ECU didn't notice?
  8. When you say your weight is 180# is that in street clothes or in your full riding kit? I thought I was the perfect N. Italian 160# rider til I stepped ont he scale in Aerostich, Sidis, Arai , gloves and glasses: 175#.

    almost ready

Ah, yes, the Kermit chair. They are very nicely made and classy. And, what, 100USD. The last camp chair I bought for Scouts was $5. Crappy and not classy but still 5 bucks.

    Magnetti-Marelli

Yeah, "Joe" that's it. Han Solo did have a little trouble getting the Falcon to make connections at times.
  11. Have a look at this thread : Scura clutch But watch out for those Scura guys, they're a dark bunch.

    Magnetti-Marelli

Well, OK , so "Google" is the fountain head. Marelli started in 1919 with money from FIAT to supply magnetos and ignition parts for autos. It did invlove itself in radio and TV as well as all things automotive from ignition to lighting and suspension to braking. It has partnered with many big names : FIAT, RCA, GE, Bosch, GTE, Exide, Weber, Veglia-Borelli, Nippondenso and Midas. But , let the record show, George Lucas isn't mentioned anywhere in the extensive history.
  13. OK, I'm vague on the instrument change. The white faced Veglia ( I,ve replaced each of mine once) were 1999- ? - '02? Then came the "IPI" or some - such? And the dubiuos bevel drives went away which was good until the cable set-up changed when? Whew! Makes me dizzy. I'm going after more Laphroig while you guys straighten this out.

    Magnetti-Marelli

Watching "LeMans", ( Steve McQueen, 1971) the Ferraris are festooned with Magnetti-Marelli stickers. My riding buddy asked if they were an old company. I guessed they made radios before the war. "Er, that was Ducati," says he. So I come to the fountain head and ask those who know: what of Marelli?
  15. A "signed" crankshaft?
  16. As if Guzis weren't quite enough on the fringe.

    Why So Slow?

The crash on my Sport took about 3 months to sort. Without the help of forum members it would have been at least triple . Post here for what you need and see if any of us have your parts on the shelf.
  18. Is that a driven sidecar?
  19. Not familiar with 'Nitromors' or 'Smoothrite.' Eastwood makes reliable products for engine painting.
  20. Yer a sick puppy, Carl. Once again, I want to thank you for the schematic for my Sport. It is such an improvement over the shop manual and to compare to the owner's manual is laughable. I've been out the loop for a while. Is your Frankensport ridable? How did it change with the Sporti frame?
  21. Hey! We're not lettin' anybody else say that about you! We spiney types stick together.
  22. Now we can't be bumping the Scuristas off their own thread! Keeps 'em where we can find 'em.
  23. FC, Those are nice panniers on the Sport! They look much further forward than the Guzzi Teknos. What the heck are they and how are they mounted?
  24. Isn't it 150mV +/- 15? I ran my Sport at 165mV for a long time. Thought I would try to eek out a little more range and backed it off to 150. It just doesn't run as well and the mileage is no better. Next tune I'm back to 165. Also I learned my Veglia tach is 300 rpm optimistic. This alone runs the range on the fat side unless compensated for. I learned this from the Guzzi "dashboard" program.
  25. Yes, actually the N2w2 or "nudge, nudge, wink, wink," (know what I mean?)
