Correct metric air bypass screw O-rings in Viton, 75 Durometer,(4mm O.D. I.D. x 2mm cross section), compared to the (U.S. expedient) #008, the inside diameter (I.D.) is especially suspect (loose). The #008 (right) is visibly undersized, yet so very close. Correct metric O-rings installed in mySport, now, and awaiting a check ride to see if this issue introduced the nasty hiccup/cough/stumble/hesitation at various new rpm once warmed up, or if I jacked up the TPS setting with my last "Tune-up." >unscientific< comparison shown in thousandths of an inch. Original Moto Guzzi green O-rings shown top, left ("probably" Nitrile). Opening, and zooming, the higher resolution image clearly shows one is damaged.

Big, smelly people come around the Guzzi breathing heavily. True, this NEVER happens on my Honda . . .
-
All just lively conversation!

Wow, y'all have taken this so beyond "fishing" . . .

FWIW, the original part number 01114300 intake rubbers, linked below, on US eBay. (Pretty sure the replacement number 01114390 remain available from more common sources at about half this price.) . . . https://www.ebay.com/itm/383010683551?hash=item592d373a9f:g:o48AAOSwPYZU-JRE&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA0EOUxhiB5hKymZNss75N9HTp8sHrB696so31bKbWImC6B8e2MxYA1L3YJ2eXLtWJ5Q70hZiOCi4pn5r9zkSpI9rJKtZ5242WUfB3sgJiLYLD6ivipgFvvVFoqm275oIs2opWP4K4oNZixdrM6zcG9pzIesq0zNVx6TJS1oJA04cSnW%2BWbo2FpATEol77ilzcUHBfu4X06a1ZAdqjNzFWezcI00%2B5NhvhMZwluGSJKRf5VL1NppdZb9EPn%2Fr4fyC9woslJDHPDW0OWyT4%2FzVdjLA%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR5L_mNr_YQ

Unlike some other Guzzi, the V11 does not get it's timing trigger from the flywheel, so (as you say) the position would only affect the markings (D/S) used to position the motor for the valve adjustments.

Great plan! For best outcome, combine the Lucky Phil Shift Improvement(s) . . .

I will always remember this version of the Quota at my dealer when I bought my Sport. It has always captivated me, yet the height/weight seems unwieldy for me. While I have not ridden one, I recall a pair of them struggling on switchbacks in the West Virginia hills/"mountains". One of them had grounded a "pannier"/ hard side case, that had pitched him off. "Dr. John's DirtBike" . . .

"I'm here for the pain."

That appears to be a pain panier . . . "bread basket" . . .

So, this is an alternative to the 2-cable set we were previously sourcing from Lonelec?
-
Yep, the ONLY thing GuzziDiag can actually SET on a V11 is the CO Fuel Trim. So valuable, though. The CARC bikes are a totally different animal! (Even though the throttle bodies look identical!)
-
Oh, yes. Two weeks to meeting up with the guys at the spring Kentucky Spine Raid, and both my (attempted) Tune-up and brake pad change have thrown me curves.

In that case, also bring a Casper's TPS Breakout Harness. I saw @Skip is bringing a computer with cables. I figured his computer is loaded with GuzziDiag . . .
-
ooooh, wait . . . The V11 TPS cannot be set with GuzziDiag. That must be done with a quality voltmeter . . . (jus' sayin' . . .)
-
Still watching and waiting for the > connected < success . . . Gettin' kinda low on popcorn . . .
-
Yeah, man. Step 3 in that tutorial: > Connect the 3-pin Diagnostic connector and power the 3-pin > OBD II adaptor with 12 volts through the red (+) and black ( - ) clips.
-
With three different V11, @red lion, it is going to be very interesting to see where the CO Fuel Trim is set on each of them!
-
@rossoandy, since you are going into the shift plate to install your spring(s), take time to perform the @Lucky Phil "Shift Improvement." Well worth the effort!
-
Rather than go to that trouble, see if you can connect to one of your V11 and get GuzziDiag to display selected measurements. Try to follow the steps in the Basic Tutorial. It shows the step-by-step: Once connected, it will be quite interesting to see what your CO Fuel Trim is . . .

I would have to strongly recommend you source the pawl spring (from @Scud) as well. It is so unlikely the "Detent Roller" spring shown in the Stein-Dinse link is the problem . . .
