  1. A longtime friend who has restored many motorcycles of all makes showed me to clean rusted chrome with 00 steel wool. That seemed awfully coarse to me, but works a charms and is softer than chrome, so no scratches . . .
  2. By all means have the whole thing balanced as an assembly. I have only removed and lubricated my cush drive once, so I don't really remember the process. I seem to recall @MartyNZ posted some nice insights on this job . . . edit: I found these nine search results: https://www.v11lemans.com/forums/search/?&q=cush drive&author=MartyNZ&search_and_or=and
  3. "VRROOM ", baby! This is not a new concept . . .
  4. I just knew I could find some of our references to the "VRROOM" motor in our archives . . . From @footgoose ("batteries not included !" : And @paulnaz coming clean on his e-motor thing . . .
  5. This one goes out to some folks I haven't heard from in a while . . . "All the telephone lines are down . . . "
  6. Hey, y'all, Bryan at The Lodge at Tellico just let me know there are two rooms left for our weekend. I am so looking forward to see you all !

    Rossa Corsa?

I have also seen this designation as "N/A" = Not Available And, for V11 purposes: GHoSoV11LM "Get Hold of Someone on V11 LeMans(.com)"
  8. I love this plan!
  9. Haha, "Eldorado-ean " . . . that is epic. As for V11 guys being " the sporty ones ", I recall a couple guys showing up at their first South'n Spine Raid and were most pleasantly amazed at the focus on riding. So much so that they planned their own SpineRaid. I can't remember, I think they call it the "Y'all Come, Now! Ya Hear? SpineRaid " . . . (and bring your hotty-totty V100 Mandello for us to drool over!)
  10. You should invite MGNA (is that even a thing, anymore?) to bring a few V100 to the spring SpineRaid so that we can wring them out . . .
  11. Piaggio made a statement some time ago about their market segmentation by brand. Paraphrased: [Aprilia is sport and racing, Moto Guzzi is travel, Vespa is lifestyle, and Piaggo is urban/commuting.] At the time, I was relieved Moto Guzzi was not relegated to "lifestyle."
  12. So, is the difficulty an alignment issue? An assembly issue? Any success?
  13. January 2000 is an early build date, so the finned flanges are correct, as are the other parts you mention. Some early Sports suffered with faded Frame Side Plates. You also, very likely, have the early triple trees with the different offset . . .
  14. Yeah, well Don's frame brace would not exist if not for @LowRyter having it produced . . .
  15. Looks to be a Genuine® @LowRyter RedFrame brace !
  16. @Skip's Sport Norge, even . . Family resemblance!
  17. FWIW, the "other" compendium checklist for future reference:
  18. Haha, well, the shop won't want to do all of this, but great time to check/grease the swingarm bearings and some (?) of the items on this compilation . . . Recommended spring shakedown ride:
  19. Three weeks and a couple days from "click" to reality? Seems pretty awesome! I hope the new gearbox checks out and the local shop has you squared away.
  20. Yessir. 101 miles. Not bad for riding between weather fronts. And work days.
  21. Well, then, I owe you another one, mate . . . I just cannot stress enough how the V11 just devours this cool, dry air. While the cylinders ring like trumpets at the gates of heaven . . .
  22. Wait . . . what? It's >winter< here and >summer< there?
  23. Well, mySport absolutely LOVES this 53ºF/12ºC dry, dense air. Climbing between 5000 and 7000 rpm, there is a certain divine resonance that tunes the whole earth to the heavens.
  24. Alright, she doesn't just live on that dais with the footlights . . . I love these old train stations. Makes me feel kind of bold and enduring to be stopping by with a rare locomotive on the route . . .
  25. Who makes your bar end mirrors?
