Rare (very rare) coincidence of time and weather today for a ride (mid-winter). Every time I ride to "Belfast" I think of @belfastguzzi.

There could be a distinction between "memory loss" and "too much to remember" . . .

@sp838 3D printed those, but I can't find them now and he hasn't visited in a while . . .

Pretty sure* the 120º twin racer was called Bicylindrica and the Gambalunga/Gambalunghino were horizontal single racers 1949-1951. Luciano Marabese was quoted saying, "I started to draw . . . the V11 from Gambalunghino . . ." Before knowing these design references, neither the V11 Sport nor the Centauro made sense to me.
-
Rather appropriate to OP's query, I must say . . .
-
Anyone with a V11 Sport has to able to say "Gambalunghino" . . .

The regulator is factory original. "Ducati Energia " is a different company than Ducati Mechanica that makes the motorcycles. The loose ring terminal is the factory ground for the regulator and goes under the missing mounting fastener for the regulator. Certainly run another, more robust, ground from the regulator case to the timing chest of the engine. The markings on the alternator show the direction to turn the crank to position at TDC for valve adjustment and the size of the socket to use on the crank nut (24 mm). Thanks for the running thread, @Steve Swan! Looking forward to watching and sharing in the progress!

Ha: docc, busted again! I was so determined to have the two images facing the same direction, and the bikes the same color, that I looked no closer at the details. You sharp-eyed guys are impressive.

Remember, Marabese Design (Rodolfo Frascoli) "drew" the Centauro from the Dondolino. The whole thing makes sense knowing this. Just as Luciano Marabese "drew" the V11 Sport from the Gambalunghino.

Let's ask the other inmates on the ward if we are really crazy to do these Guzzi things we do . . .

Your Durakool relays are the 5-pin, "R" version, with the resistor, integral, @V11_RM_RG?

Just for clarity, the Message system I tested is this forum's Message system, sometimes referred to as "PM" for Private Message (not posted on the replies). email is another matter, entirely.

Very, very few of the RedFrame V11 Sports had the trans-frame plate support. Perhaps, only the very earliest Sports in Italy and Germany (1999?). The vulnerable crack point is typically the left, upper mounting boss for the frame cross bolt. @Lucky Phil posted a thorough investigation/ remediation of this. Many of us have retrofitted the frame support plate on the early RedFrame. Perhaps @LowRyter's man still has some in stock in Oklahoma (?) Be aware of the numerous leak points in the V11 motor-to-gearbox ("bellhousing") while they are easy to get to . . .

Edited to include notification. Sent test message to @Twin AH . . . edit/same day: Message went through.

While the SuperSpring is @Chuck's design, @Scud is The Keeper of the Springs.

What I learned about the 60s and 70s music is that it was all mixed "vocal-centric" for the tiny speaker (one) on the "TV" or the car dashboard. Even when "stereo" came on, the mix was all about the vocals. I never knew there were some great musicians n the background. Makes me happy for these days . . . Dawn of the Buffalo = "Donna the Buffalo " . . .

Welcome, @Donk! A "brown" Norge like this one that Pete roper posted, above?

What is the explanation, then, that my system "bled" after chocking the master cylinder ("tying the lever") even though there was zero pressure when I tied it (the lever came to the completely to the grip with no resistance/pressure at all)?

This happened to mySport replacing the front brake master cylinder with the bike on a lift (standing vertical) and stock clip-ons. Seems the trap was the small 90º elbow at the M/C. Tying off the lever made the difference.
-
Metric isn't perfect for everything. For instance, this just doesn't play: "There's something leakin' I'm two liters low."
-
Not to burst anybody's bubble (heh ), but I have tied back the front brake lever on a failed bleed that I could not get any pressure whatsoever and the lever feel (pressure) came back overnight. At the time I thought the rationale was that the master cylinder, in the "activated" position, allowed air to rise into the reservoir, Do doubt, this has only worked for me with the master cylinder fluid supply line angled above the cylinder with the reservoir higher.
