Right? Makes one pine for "some pics from the roads down under " . . . (Something without an exploded view of a clutch and gearbox, if you please. Perhaps a wee "short-cut thru Nayook to Noojee " . . . . )

Moto Guzzi V100 Sport Tourer: water cooled, 120 HP (26th of August 2021)

I would go so far as to say that my feeler gauges, even knitting needles, are analog. Swiping my card at the dealer's service desk? Definitely > digital < -

Performing the valve adjustment on my 2-valve BigBlock is something I actually look forward to. Not only is it approachable to an involved owner, physically and mechanically, it reminds me of tuning my string instruments . . . There is a certain irreplaceable "connection" , and the instrument always, then, dances with a delight and appreciation. Like a Golden Retriever let out of the truck by the lake shore. Friends for life. These feelings just never happen picking my Toyota up from a dealer service. -
I thought HMB is a Moto Guzzi dealer? (Or no longer?)

It is the PC545 MJ (Metal Jacket) that has the metal case. FWIW, Odyssey looks to be changing the nomenclature: PC545 = ODS-AGM15L PC545MJ = ODS-AGM 15MJ The MJ is one pound heavier and 0.10 inches longer and wider (same height). The "Extreme" series are ODX prefix, but I am not seeing the 15L in that current series: https://www.odysseybattery.com/extreme-series-battery-specifications/

The cheap, Chinee LED H4 I tried burnt out at 10,000 miles, not unlike the immensely hot hi-wattage H4s I tried from Sylvania. 3 1/2 years/ 15,000 miles and still very pleased with this plug&play solution: https://vintagecarleds.com/shop/bulbs-only/vcm3-bulbs-only/

The difference between eating an apple and eating a banana. The damn banana has to be peeled first . . . -
A poignant contrast of V11 in their natural January/February habitat: Rotorua, NZ (note curvy road) : Michigan, USA (note battery charger):

@andy york has run a JW Speaker in his LeMans (highest mileage V11 in the world!) for a good, long time . . .

Sorry for the abbreviated reply, @Revilo . . . Be certain to use a High Current "Best Relay" in that rather demanding, and failure prone, position . . .

Nineteenth South'n Spine Raid 2023 Tennessee USA
docc replied to docc's topic in Meetings, Clubs & Events
Weird, Al , @al_roethlisberger, I'm not sure anyone has ever ridden a V11 across the Appalachian Divide from North Carolina to a South'n Spine Raid. Or even met us for lunch at the Tapoco Lodge. The Tapoco is still in North Carolina in case those Tennessee Wants&Warrants might still be in effect . . . -

I remember one SSR we rode through the park. Once, only. We didn't park. Unless that is how you would describe the pace of the traffic . . . -
An admirable celebration of "Groundhog Day !"

Having searched for the 40mm Marzocchi application before, I found this statement notable, ". . . we got also a suspension upgrade for the V11 Les Mans from 2001 till 2006 and is gets your fork . . . " So, no direct 1999-2000 (2001) Sport/RM application. We have wondered, in the past, if that same Marzocchi 40mm was used on some Ducati (especially Monster), but were never able to confirm a reliable cross reference.
-
It seems there is still no Andreani fork cartridge for the early V11 40mm Marzocchi forks. Perhaps these talented technicians will know of a Ducati application with those same forks . . .

I see no value for the lock nuts in the Workshop Manual on the torque value page nor the swingarm section ("Assemble in reverse order.")

My Scura has acquired a cough - post TPS adjustment
docc replied to PJPR01's topic in Technical Topics
Try checking your TPS mV (again) with the throttle plate zip-tied firmly closed (and all of the stop points relieved). Still 157 mV? Stays 157 mV once tightened down? Remember, the TPS baseline indexes the Fuel/Ignition mapping. TPS out of spec = map out order = potentially dramatic (or annoying) changes in running behavior. -
It seems to me that stealing my quirky Italian bike would be a grand folly for the thief. It reminds me of this delightful read from Hagerty: "A Few Things to Know Before Stealing My 914"

My Scura has acquired a cough - post TPS adjustment
docc replied to PJPR01's topic in Technical Topics
I recall the resistor is 5,000Ω and the ignition wire is another 5,000Ω. Add the Wiggle Test: attach meter for the resistance test, then wiggle the wire and connector looking for variations/opens in the reading. -

That would make me suspicious of a damaged ignition wire, spark plug cap/resistor, or the connection between them . . .
