I missed this one earlier http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/H4-9003-Bi-...22123QQtcZphoto It is a single HID igniter with a retractable shield to convert it from LO to HI. ONLY $109.99. It likely has a much better High Beam than the $89.99 kit with HID Low and Halogen High. The advantage of the $89 kit is that if the low beam fails you MIGHT be able to get home or through a high speed sweeper on the high beam. But I hate that they tinted the halogen bulb blue. I am a firm believer that Lower K numbers are better. But I would not want to go too yellow either as people might not recognize you as a moving vehicle. 3500 to 5000K is probably fine. I would pick the 5000K over the higher, blue and purple bulbs. 5000K is supposed to be the color of daylight, but it appears blue compared to standard halogen. Old Geezers will remember how bright and irritating halogen were when they first came out compared to the seemingly yellow incandescent, but the halogen sure caught on The HID are catching on too. My problem with the HID is that they have a tendency to blind oncoming drivers, especially on cornering or accellerating motorcycles, and you may find yourself getting ticketed in the USA for having aftermarket HID. But the energy saving 35Watts opens doors for heated grips or auxillary driving lights that can help our view of the road without blinding drivers. But I know if I get the HID I would have to lower the aim of the headlight and then I may be worse off, especially at higher speeds

You are correct , the ECU does not use the Oil Pressure switch signal to control anything. In fact there is no signal between the ECU and the pressure sensor. It would be kool to have a lack of oil pressure kill the ignition and pull in the clutch all while not interfering with engine startup. We could sell them on eBay along with blinker fluid

Hi Todd, What do you, or other dealers on this list, think of this eBay ad from Extreme Toy Store? How can you compete with a dealer that can sell a bike for 25% of MSRP? (assuming they can, but who knows, they may have trusted buyers lined up to jack up the price)

PS here is the link to the $89 kit http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/H4-9003-HI-...13440QQtcZphoto

Wow! I suppose you could split that into two kits, but their motorcycle kit is only $89. Too bad they tint the halogen high beam....POSERS!

Excellent, a politically correct spaminator You don't want your career to end up like Cosmo Kramer's (Michael Richards) Remember we must stay on the 0 point on the X axis of Left/Right But you got the AUTHORITARIAN part down perfectly Or we can forget the PC stuff and maybe if I hit the spam from the left and you hit it from the right we could make SPAM sandwiches

More on same bike here: http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=9499 Great deal, even if salvage!

Since you are in San Diego, I recommend these guys, whom you may know: http://www.buymoto.com/Boots_s/17.htm It looks like all their Sidi prices are list....It was not like that a few months ago. I suppose the price may be negotiable FWIW Just as a matter of disclosure, I used to work with one of the owners. So, I do have a slight bias for their service, but I also have a bias for GP and especially Sonny Angel. BuyMoto has Moto in their name! How cool is that!?!

No, I was hoping people would pop in and read what you posted. I have been pretty unsuccessful getting San Diego Guzzi folk together for rides. Notice three of the posters in this thread are from the UK and probably won't make any of the rides ): John Z., Slowpoke and I tried to get together a few times... Atleast I like to crosspost here and there to maximize who might see the post and show up. I gave up on Topica MGNOC-SW. I should see you, and hopefully others, this Sunday at Ortega Highway Lookout Cafe

Are you sure it came from Japan? I think many of the Hondas are now from USA. http://www.impawards.com/1985/posters/american_ninja.jpg And those Germans are so clever, they probably can counterfeit just about anything ------>

But keep in mind, conversion charts are not all the same, and shoe makers are all over the place. I wear anything from a US 10.5 to an 11.5. It does seem like they matched you up with close to a UK 12

I don't know about the compatability. Tuneboy should allow you to convert the ECU to or from Ti ECU. I tried my setup with the Ti ECU mappings and it did not run well at lower rpms. FWIW, I sold an ECU to Carl A. for $125 US and then bought it back from him for the same price I have seen the equivalent Ducati ECU asking for $600 and also selling for as little as $50. I think $100-150 is fair. Anyone wanting one of Cliff's ECUs may want the extra ECU to modify.

I am really surprised the tuning did not show a gain from run 8 to run 9. I suppose it makes sense that compared to my QuatD you lost mid range but gained some high end power (Alot more than my Quat D (the early series with port on left) ). The removal of the catalytic convertor probably has some effect there. But I suspect running the valves at that that setting, while good for peak power, it may be contributing to a loss of mid range, and if the engine is running hot the tuner may have had trouble optimizing the mixture for proper burn and maximized power. I would seriously give 0.15/0.20mm a try.

Some dealers are better stocked than others. Some times the parts are obsolete and in stock and sometimes they are regular replacement but on back order from Italy. I think Agostini, MGCycle, MG Classics, MPH, Teo Lamers, Moto International, Harpers, Sonny Angel, and a few others often seem to have more parts than the North American distributor. Piaggio should improve things, but so far they seem to be no better than their predecessor....

You got it! But the fighting is more like Gidget vs. Elvis And the scooters leak even worse than the British motorcycles. (Mods use bubble gum instead of Hylomar) Oooo and the stench of riding behind fifty worn out two strokes.....cough, cough!

whoa! you got me beat, Ayatola FWIW I just spaminated two of Antonios posts, trying to sell crank and cranck (or was it crack?) This could be fun, but so far the classifieds is a lot of dull reading.... Good night Alex....you are on duty alone for the next 7 hours....

From what I gathered here: http://www.labsafety.com/refinfo/ezfacts/ezf269.htm Class 8.8 seems to be about equal to a Grade 5.2 Grade 8 and 8.1 are about equal to Class 10.9

Cool! can I be a spaminator too? Here is my contrived score http://politicalcompass.org/printablegraph?ec=0&soc=10 Well balanced, but maybe too strict? I could delete all the posts of Greg Field's where he is trying to get rich quick selling hose clamps

Once it turned into a Serge worshipping thread, I tuned out...I guess I simply jealous of Serge's lifestyle. What leather should he wear?

Why go with more than a 15A if you are using a 65/50W bulb? Two fuses seems like overkill, and 20A seems like a lot of unnecessary headroom. Once the wiring is upgraded, is the fuse rating determined by the wiring and not so much by what is on the circuit? Is the reason for two fuses, in case your low beam blows you can switch to high beam? Or more likely, if you hit the high beam flasher and blow a fuse I guess you would maintain the low beam If you do go with two fuses, why not 10Amp? How does a self recovering breaker work? How long is the recovery delay? If the circuit is well shorted, does the breaker keep breaking? Keep in mind if the original fuse for the lighting goes, we'll be in the dark, but since we are taking a load off that fuse, which was only a 15A covering the Horn, headlights, brake light, warning lights, tachometer, and starter, I guess we should be better off. But maybe that should be replaced with a self reseting breaker? forgive my ignorance

Is that the big white barn with red letters saying Cider near Wynola road (not downtown Julian) with Apple orchards behind the barn? If so, I think they are still in business, but they seem to keep odd hours....when I stop they are closed, but then when I blaze by, the doors are open and they have customers.
