If I read you correctly it seems that you have the stock setup. You might try lowering the bar clamps 1/4 - 3/8 inch, and then lower the triple clamps down the forks to meet the bar clamps. Note there is a safety bolt helping to keep the bar clamps all tight to the upper triple clamp, so you need to loosen and retighten it. It is possible to simply lower the bar clamps and triples at the same time, but I prefer lowering the bar clamps seperately. But what is most important is to get your sag set well.

It should be shorted.

You could put a 12AH deep cycle battery in your tank bag and just run your heated stuff off of that, just keep it isolated from our dainty charging system.
-
My money is on charging system and or battery. Just in case, I had a good experience with Glenn's Cycle Tow of Escondido, California. Toll Free 866.848.4984 $100 flat rate and outstanding service. An alternative is San Diego Motorcycle Towing, $75 for first 30 miles, but I have not tried them.

Here I am, pigeon holed, but not so far away as I thought I would be. Guess I would not make a good copper...

The authoritarian section looks tempting since I don't want to get ripped off, but I don't want a citation for dripping oil and loud pipes, so I might as well go park it off to the left where most of the hot chicks park But dang! Half of them are lesbian Where do the bi-sexual anarchist chicks park?

Quick research at a remote control car websit seemed to indicate that silver would offer very little improvement. Resistance is only 5% better and I am not sure this would even produce 5% more power, maybe with a few extra turns of the wire. The stator would probably end up costing several thousand dollars because of the cost of the wire. So forget I ever asked.

It might fit the 1064cc engine of the Breva and Griso. But that probably is not what you wanted to know, as they also have a 550W alternator, and probably the same one. So, yah it won't fit unless you create some elaborate system of brackets and pulleys, but then where would you put the supercharger????? If you want more available power, I recommend energy conservation, using LED and or HID lighting. You would think there would be stator rewinding service that could rewind with silver wire or something to give the alternator more output. Even if something like that exists you would probably have to upgrade the regulator and maybe the wiring. EDIT apparently silver wire is about $75 per foot, so unless we are going on the space shuttle, I don't think silver wiring is feasable. But maybe a few extra turns rewinding the copper???? Speaking of which, the wire going from my regulator to battery did have resistance in it, probably from getting cooked when the regulator died, and a few people have cooked their alternator fuse. I recommend people watch that fuse for signs of melting from heat build up, and if necessary run a bypass wire of two gauges heavier wire from the regulator to the battery, with an inline fuse....after their warranty expires

Heck I don't know, but 50 views and no replies yet... I don't know or remember the answers. I unclearly recall on the Marzocchi the outer tube simply slides off the stanchion This is from the V11 manual for the Marzocchi. It looks like the spring may be up, but I can't tell...And what does up or downwards mean in an upside down fork when the photo shows it inverted???

Maybe School Sucking could be a good thing But even with a great teacher, school can still suck...

The point is I have to resist their baiting....so far, so good. If I ignore the you know what, and just look at what I agree with like the "Skool Sux!" theme, all is good. Heck, I think I can even abstain from defending PETA in the link TX posted http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?...ic=9409&hl=

That was nothing. This thread is meant for closure. What? Do think the Righties are gonna disagree that they disagree with me? Why don't you keep Ratchet in line in my abscence?

For 3K more, I would hope we'll get more than just four more valves. Maybe upgraded suspension But good point. I am sure the 8V won't replace the 2Vx2 at the same price, although that is what they should do to do to remain competative with BMW. I really like the R1200R and wish Guzzi could build something close in performance, with ABS and a close price. When I bought my V65SP in 1985 it was $400 less than an R65 and much less than an R65LS. When I bought the V11S in 2000 it had a higher MSRP than the BMW R1100R, but the Guzzi was cheaper out the door. MGS12008V with or without ABS and they will have a lot of sales if they can price match the BMW R1200S, or a Ducati ST1098...assuming they make such a thing

Best I can figure it, he is talking 360 degrees Rankine, or about -100ºF If is that cold, he needs something thinner than 5W oil. Although it could be Kelvin, but that would be about 87ºC, and then that dreaded vapor lock issue would come to a boil I would just wait for better weather.

No, I am not looking for a scrap. If you don't want to believe me, fine. Jaap closed a thread and I was happy for it and I am trying to take the opportunity to give up arguing politics. I'll probably give in and get into another scrap and be further insulted. It is not much fun having ideals that aren't shared with people like you.

Left and Right wings are a gross over simplification. Everyone thinks independently to one degree or another. The Libertarians have slightly more complex over simplification matrix. Some refuse to be pigeon holed. I consider myself to be somewhere close to that red dot at 80/40, maybe 90/30. I suppose Ratchet would peg me off the board somewhere around a 100/-100 I would pigeon hole Ratchet at about 0/80. I would peg Nogbad at about 50/80 I would peg Golden Goose at about 60/70 I would peg Dah Ben at about 80/80 but need more data on his views. I would peg TX Redneck at about a 30/100 But of course the above diamond matrix is only in two dimensions while reality is in atleast 4 dimensions. Issues are tough to pinpoint within the matrix. For Pro Choice is both a Libertarian and a Liberal Value, while Pro Death Penalty and Pro War fall into the Authoritarian and Right Wing categories, but many Centrists can support about any side of any issue. ie. the Flip-Floppers like Kerry, McCain, Schwarzenegger, and Clinton (clinton more of whish-washed than flip-flopped) Pro Free enterprise might be at about 80/80, while free individuals at about 100/50 and free corporations at about 50/100. Just my humble opinion, your mileage may vary.

Good points. I don't want censorship. I am just fed up with the insults. Apparently the insults are inevitable when people's views are so different. But thanks GF for posting the Global Warming Thread. I learned alot there, and it surely reaffirmed my belief that we can do something to reduce the increase in global warming, and how enlightened the left wing and most scientists are. I suppose middle of the roaders and right wingers might not agree with that.

Great to see another dealer representative on the forum We have a few dealer reps regularly posting here and their insight is priceless.
-
Sorry, I am splitting hairs. Ratchet and I may have been the only ones that cared... From now on the Right wingers can post whatever they want and I'll TRY to remain mute. Interesting. I would ask you more about this, but I am trying to go cold turkey on the politics.
-
Don't get me started, please.

No, the problem is that some of us do care and that makes it very difficult to remain silent in the face of what we disagree with. For some of us a news story triggers a need to share it with our friends who happen to be on this forum. Some of us, mostly just me, disagree with this right wing crap and that leads to bitter argument, hatred and insults. I don't do it to wind anyone up. I say what I say because it is the just truth. If politics is your thing, I suggest we do what Jaap suggests and find a different forum where we can disagree on political topics. Here you can discuss politics and Guzzis: http://lists.topica.com/lists/Mgnoc-sw Despite its name it does not restrict membership by region. I quit that forum because there were too many unhealthy bitter arguments. We have the same problem here, and because we got into politics, some of us now can't keep politics out of their technical discussion. Ratchethack and I both live in San Diego and I now have no interest in riding with him or shaking his hand if I see him. This is because we both care about the politics and we are diametrically opposed in our beliefs. It is a shame we ever brought up politics at all here. Does anyone have suggestions for other forums? Save the Puffin Forum? Serge the Brutatl Bourjois Dictator forum? Captain Nemo's site?

2006-2007 International (USA ain't Milan) Motorcycle Shows

Geeze Louise you are less than three days from Long Beach and less than four Guzzi hours from the twin chities. The good news is your local roads are more free of squids than the cosmopolitico roads near Long Beach. -
"THIS is the mentality that has resulted in the loss of milliions of innocent lives:" QUOTE(dlaing @ Mar 3 2006, 06:23 PM) * The ONLY semi-valid reason to attack Iraq was to remove Saddam, but even that could have been avoided by spending a fraction of the war costs on benevolency. We could have bribed him into being nice. END QUOTE This is the most naive thing I have ever seen or heard from an adult. "Absolutely amazing. The rank, felony stupid idea of spending money on "benevolency" on a mass-murdering, tyrannical dictator"-hatchet So, I take it Ratchet, you are also against the benevolency the US gives in dollars and weapons to all the brutal right wing dictatorships of the world, including Sadam when he was killing hundreds of thousands of people. Finally something we agree upon

Grandpa probably invented windage plates for sealing up the bung holes of the bean eaters living below deck. You wouldn't catch me on one of those boats without Goretex®, Polartec® and a Thermos® of Peet's Coffee®
