  1. You betcha I didn't. I figure there would be some clause in there about not blowing up the middle east unless it could be possibly make Texas the universe's greatest producer of crude oil.
  2. If its riding high it can cause alot of trouble Hopefully I learned from riding like an idiot
  3. I have no idea why someone would prefer the constant rate to the active re-active speed control one I assume the BiTubo is constant rate, and I keep mine set to minimum unless I know I am going be pushing the ton, and then I give it three or four clicks....but it is difficult to remember to undo it before dropping into a ten mph turn For that reason the RSC makes more sense. Perhaps some like the constant rate because maybe it make the bike less weavy on steel decked bridges, etc.
  4. My bike is stable too, but not when I get a full second of hang time flying through the air at 120vegliamph coming down into a near tank slapper. It is good to avoid that type of situation, but sometimes it happens and it is good to be prepared...if you can afford it
  5. I have a different interpretation of Mike's approach. A good example is what he did for Al R. Dual plugging, more durable valves, mild porting, high compression pistons that MAY result in better combustion with POSSIBLY no increase of ping tendency. The porting he does results in better balance between cylinders. (But if you are a firm believer in the MotoMan method of building up the ports to improve velocity, I don't know if he follows that strategy, yet he still get proven results, presumably by removing material) True he also pursues Land Speed Records, but I think if you want a durable, smooth running engine, I am sure he also has an excellent idea on how to improve on the factory design. Just my opinion. Maybe some of his customers have something to say??? I think they may be quiet because when they talk to him he probably goes off into technical babble that is easily mis-quoted if they dare try to repeat it.
  6. I took the illustration to be an exaggeration for illustration purpose. Certainly some have considered photographs I posted to be misleading. The accuracy of this scribble probably deserves some explanation and it seems that the explanation is promised when MGnix posts his measurements.
  7. Notice that the Mike Rich pistons help fill in that pocket of un-squished mixture. So, Mike appears to have been on the case for years!
  8. It was just a political prop to wave around on his whistle stop tour. Competing with Arnold Schwarzenegger without a gun would be futile "It is therefore declared that Texas shall remain neutral in the affairs of, and between, other nations." Houston we have a problem...
  9. Yes, according to the constitution of the Skull and Crossbones, all he or she has to do is read "The Pet Goat" backwards, "toag tep eht" which if she or he is the chosen one, will activate the launch codes. He or she must then have the geography skills to tap on an LCD map where she or he wants death and destruction. http://www1.istockphoto.com/file_thumbview...n_world_map.jpg I am not sure if a finger is sufficient or if a special stylus is required Please note that Islam is centered in Notsuoh, so target carefully
  10. Oh, EVOLVE!!! For all who prefer the happiness of love to that of a warm gun. http://www.theusversusjohnlennon.com/
  11. You just had to ask! A little over the edge of forum rules, but ladies and gentleman, presenting the Bush of the year, 2005! http://johnsoncity.blogspot.com/uploaded_i..._105-754465.jpg
  12. The stock look like this from the rear http://www.v11lemans.com/gallery/details.p...d5f3b800674ce6f Mistral rounds look like this ovals look similar...but oval Ferraccis are glossier and may come with no badge or sticker. If you look through the forum gallery you could probably find a match. http://www.v11lemans.com/gallery
  13. And the bike can go up in a ball of flames. It happened to atleast one forum member's bike. Luckily he was not also incinerated. FWIW I sliced a small V-section out of my tank's grommet. Using this method, the fuel will leak out more slowly than no grommet, but it only takes a little fuel to make a big fire Also please note, Guzzis by the nature of the spark plug placement in the crash zone, are probably more prone to crash and burn syndrome than many other bikes. So, the moral of the story is to get them to fix the tip-over valve ...and get a good pair of head guards.
  14. good reviews here http://www.webbikeworld.com/lights/ http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/led/led.htm http://www.webbikeworld.com/t2/motorcycle-...brake-light.htm http://www.webbikeworld.com/Motorcycle-tec...rake-lights.htm and probably more...
  15. I have wondered that myself. MotoMan says nickle silicate cylinder walls like the Guzzi also benefit from the fast break in. But from what I understand, the hatching on the walls of guzzi lasts longer than walls of other engines. I imagine the honing surface is much like that of knife sharpening steel, only the cutting abrasiveness wears away quickly. I think this explains why Guzzis take over 10,000 miles to "break in" I think the motoman method accellerates that process. A quick break in may then result in cleaner pistons, better combustion, etc., while the more slowly broken in motor may get more carbon build up. But that is mostly theoretical. Scientific evidence is somewhat is lacking. Those who try the agressive break-in swear by it.
  16. How about this artistic rendering (actual application may vary, batteries not included) From how I interpreted Pete's instructions and the image, the copper colorized stuff will hang below the sheet, but I layered it to show where the sheet is, so just try to VISUALIZE it hanging below (below gravity wise, above image layer wise) FWIW I am sure I missed colorizing some things like the lump in the rectangle, and some of the colorized stuff will be above the plate. Also note, assuming I followed the instructions correctly, the MotoModa logo faces up...so I flipped the image and if you look closely, MotoModa is flipped, too. Don't depend on this image for installation!!!!! It is only to help conceptualize and visualize the process.
  17. the stacks could be making it just enough richer to make it pop. Tuning the PCIII is a piece of cake....just requires a little patience and subtle changes.
  18. I guess you don't visit the forums that discuss Buell problems Atleast your mechanics are better looking than Luigi sourced from http://amifastorwhat.ning.com/detail.php?DetailID=501306
  19. Ooooops! sorry. But, by the way, Roger Federer is like even more God Like than Omobono Tenni, and possibly more God Like than Agostini or Rossi!!! PS I guess Rossi nabbed another victory today!
  20. This type of popping can usually be fixed by adding fuel to the appropriate map area.... But it seems like you are already running rich. Have you dynotuned with tuning link? A nice even lambda should keep it from getting too hot, but also help reduce carbon build up.
  21. Could it explain why the Mike Rich piston is the best of the three? And why some get pinging with the FBF piston? The Mike Rich piston helps create more effective squish, not at, but near the tiny squish band.
  22. Ouch! That bites. Hope you heal well, and I know the bike will get put back together well....it is only money But when the towing company dings you $500+ for 60miles, that is criminal. I would look into suing them somehow. There is a guy in San Diego who specializes in motorcycle towing and he charges $100 flat rate within greater San Diego County. When I used him, I called around and got some estimates that would have put a 60 mile tow at about $300 but nowhere near $500 Maybe you could search court records for precedents on such a small claims case.
  23. I sense a baaaaaa-aaaad joke coming on.
  24. A major "group think" ditto on not bending the aluminum As an alternative, how about enlongating at the big hex rather than at the lower 6mm allens I would prefer the sidestand 2mm lower than not. But those with a propensity for sidestand grinding might not want to lose that 2mm clearance.
