I think you will find that the lower the front end is, the better, but make sure the fender has atleast a cm freeplay when forks are fully compressed. Lowering the front end will make the bike more nimble and more stable at the same time. Some fear it will become less stable, but I have not found that to be the case at all. EDIT I measured mine to be about 32-33mm above the top of the triple clamp(measured at the edge of the gold tubing to top of the clamp) I could probably go even lower, but I don't fully trust my measurements.

I would not mess with the TPS unless he wants to go back to the tuning link....although 25mv probably won't upset the PCIII map. When most PCIII maps are set by Tuning Link the indicated air to fuel ratio is optimized only at fuel cells where the bike is under significant load, ie. cruising to WOT. The partial throttle popping experienced by Guzzista does not take place in the map cells modified by Tuning Link. Experienced Guzzi PCIII mappers like Todd Eagan modify the map appropriately to provide a better fueling at low throttle openings. To fix the problem, simply add a little fuel to the map where the problem is suspected....but only add just enough to get rid of the PROBLEM. Getting a CO reading at idle and adjusting to non-US spec would also be a good idea.

Don't do it without trying one on. I tried one on (I think it was a bandit but it looked a little different than what is in their current catalog) a few years ago and it was all wrong, kind of tight around the crown, but loose down low. Not uncomfortable, but I would expect a lot of wind noise because of the loose fit near the ears. I also still own a Simpson from the seventies. Solid shell that has endured numerous drops. I use it for working a chain and other activities where crap is hitting you in the face.

My endlessly procrastinated goal is to better tune the temperature and altitude trims in the ECU. First, so I have a clue...I have to install the WBO2 logger that I have owned for about 8 months. Then it is just a matter of trial and error. I'll be able to log throttle position, RPM, and engine temperature. I'll try to post whether of not it can make a difference. Generally the map gets leaner the hotter the engine and air get. I think that after a certain temperature it would be good to enrichen...sort of a built in thermostat. With regards to the altitude compensation, the compensation is conservative, because they don't want it to get too lean if the sensor fails. But I almost never ride over 7000 feet, so the compensation is OK for my general use, but it might be nice to get a little more punch out of the engine while up on Mount Palomar and Mount Laguna...I think high altitudes could really benefit from the high compression pistons and optimized squish.

Thanks! I'd probably skip the compression ratio measurement, because whatever 0.040" squish leaves me with is what I would have to tune to. Milling down the barrels is probably more than I would care to do...but then again if it turns out the squish is far too much, it may be worth it. I was kind of hoping thinner gaskets might just give it that little extra more better.

Maybe I should buy a humvee and get it bullet proofed. Or maybe just go to track school and buy a supercharged Hayabusa that can out run helicopters. Third scenario, illegal immigrants, Muslims, or victims of a plague, that the government try to put into concentration camps, rise up against the government and start killing yuppies. OK, finally a scenario where I wish I was well armed...until they broke into my house, got my gun, polished it, and then plugged me when I got home.
