  2. Louis' L&L Motorsports Dyno will be in National City, CA today, September 2, 2006 Near but not at Sonny Angel Motorcycles. Sorry about the short notice Details here. http://sandiego.craigslist.org/mcy/201586607.html
  3. Thanks, that was better said than I was saying So, Ratchet, after how many years of getting stoned did you give up peace love and understanding for all the bourjois redneck stuff?
  4. You failed to backup your innuendo. And now you are attacking Google!?!?! What, is Google conspiring with Al Jazeera to hide Al Jazeera's alleged profligate propaganda? Will you grow up and stop mooning me?!!? Since you were too lazy to actually read what I wrote, I will quote it for you to give you a second chance: "That had almost nothing to do with holocaust denial, just one sentence of many of a rambling guest speaker, presumably edited not by Al Jazeera but by Memri. The sloppy editting is clearly obvious." I'd reply to the rest but I got to get to work... Just drop your libelous innuendo and go back to preparing for WWIII when the Remulacs invade Poway.
  5. Well, I guess I learned something when Ratchet wanted to optimize his squish, and Pete Roper said it was a good idea, in the soft valve and plasticene guide thread So, it seems to me that rather than high compression pistons, all you have to do is optimize your squish which should increase the compression ratio on a stock bike. From my rough calculations to go from the 9.31:1 stock ratio to a 9.75:1 ratio you would only need to bring the head about 0.4mm closer to the piston. On this thread http://wildguzzi.com/forum/index.php?PHPSE...c=1714.msg21394 Pete estimates most Guzzi stock squish to be about 50 thousandths (~1.4mm), and reducing it to 40 thousandths (~1.0mm) is safe and beneficial. So, how trivial is it to measure the squish then either deck the heads, skim the jugs, or just go to a thinner gasket???
  6. And for sake of fair and balanced coverage, let us look at the first five from this google search site:www.opinionjournal.com holocaust denial First one, clear bias against holocaust denial. Second one, also a clear bias regarding the denial, but an excellent article none the less, because of its respect for free speech. Third one sounded like absurd denier paranoia, but hard to tell as the links to follow were dead. Fourth one, I think I am beginning to see where Ratchet learned how to argue. The bias is clearly anti-denial, as it should be, but they are little unfounded to with the comments about mad mullah news agencies. Unless they can prove the madness, which they do not. Perhaps it is commonly known that Mullahs are Mad, and I just missed the propaganda boat Fifth one, seems pretty fair bias against denial, and he makes a good argument not to support this Republican...but he kind of loses it on the KKK/NAACP analogy. So, far Al Jazeera is way ahead in the un-biased coverage category. Maybe there should be a bias and all holocaust deniars should be ridiculed, but for Al Jazeera to be critical, but more mildly critical than the Wall Street Journal Opinon Page is beyond reproach when judging news sources.
  7. That had almost nothing to do with holocaust denial, just one sentence of many of a rambling guest speaker, presumably edited not by Al Jazeera but by Memri. The sloppy editting is clearly obvious. Compare that to the fairness found at your sacred Wall Street Journal(it took me more like 3minutes to find this) http://www.opinionjournal.com/extra/?id=110004796 "Today is the first anniversary of Rachel Corrie's death. I want to thank Corrie for the explosives that flow freely from Egypt to Gaza, via the smuggling tunnels under the Gaza homes that she died defending." But getting back to Al Jazeera, when I googled " site:english.alJazeera.net holocaust denial " The first and second thing I got was some German deported from the US to do time in Germany for holocaust denial. I thought it fairly covered the story. The third thing I got fairly covered the distinction of the myth of the holcaust compared to the denial. The article seemed to have a bias against denial....I guess that was not fair, but I probably would have written with the same bias. The fourth covered a brit going to prison in Austria for questioning the death of 6 million durring the Holocaust. I thought it was fair coverage. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu was a little absurd, but I suspect that was deliberate to balance the absurdity of holocaust denial criminalization. The fifth seems to accept a Jew's claim of losing his parent to the holocaust. I need not read further unless you can find real evidence of Al Jazeera's profligate propaganda.
  8. Dang! Thank you. I should have tried conjugating it as an adjective before writiing it off as misused verb....sounded like a verb when I read it So he is saying Al Jazzeera and Ahmadinejad spring to mind, both profligate(debauched, degenerate, degraded, dissipated, dissolute) sources of world Propaganda. Millions upon millions of victims of their propaganda believe it never happened. Are you one of them?? dry.gif Do you have any examples of Al Jazeera's profligate coverage? I find they cover the news from the RELATIVE perspective of Islam very well and fairly. I am not familiar with Ahmadinejad. Care to site some examples of Al Jazeera's profligate spreading of Holocaust denial? Or is this empty paranoid innuendo? Islam predictably has many people that subscribe to holocaust denial, but I doubt that is because of Al Jazeera. Do you think their news media should not cover it at all? Does the Al Jazeera actually say the holocaust was a hoax? I think not. A quick google of Al Jazeera did not show such endorsement, but showed the president of Iran saying that it was scientifically debateable. Should they have censored that article? Some spread rumors that human caused global warming is not happening, yet we don't censor them.
  9. That would be ideal. I have not seen anything close. Something well padded, heavily shelled, but with a hinged ankle. A sturdy, protective but slim toe, would also be nice. I love my Sidi Vertigo Corsa Air. It has good bracing, but I fear the plastic bits might just as easily increase injury as reduce it. My Sidi Sympatex touring boots are crash tested without injury But my Sidi boots have no padding other than for comfort, and offer no where near the protection of dirt bike boots.
  10. My dictionary does not have a verb form of the word profligate. Care to choose another word?
  11. People in the UK should get there order in ASAP (or likely pay higher shipping later) Details on Pete visiting the UK September 6th with a suit case full of Motomoda sheets. http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=8725
  12. Being a bit of a coward when it comes to spending money and wrenching unknown territories, I am going to wait till after the POMs' installation reports. Also I want to poke my head under the sump to get a gander of what's entailled. From what Pete says, installation should be pretty straight forward.
  13. They do. Strange problem. Slug, what exact voltage do you get at the high beam lead and the low be beam lead? If they are the same I would say it is bad connector to the bulb. If they are different by more than .1V I suppose the problem is elsewhere, most likely in the switch or one of the multiconnectors under the tank.
  14. Please don't be so rude. Point out what you disagree on, and stick to facts. Your partisan rambling is preaching to the choir. You simply try to associate me with what the right wingers on the list despise. Hitler used a similar tactic to malign his undesirables. First of all, while there is much truth to those points, I can't think of any of them where a lack of control would have prevented the horrible killings. Gun control does not cause genocide, it only enables an easier genocide. How many of those gun controls were inacted by "Liberals"?!?!? Do you think Liberals have a genocide agenda!?!? Why aren't you whining about airline security, Homeland Security and all the rights we have given up? Go on, you say you don't like Bush. so prove it! Attack his setting up of Homeland Security with the same passion you do against me and Liberals in general. Or are you really just another right wing hypocrite shouting for freedom to play with your toys and not giving a darn about the guy locked away without trial? I hope not.
  15. Elegant Look in a mirror lately? Way to twist the words. I simply pointed out that the war in Iraq was preceeded by clever and cowardly gun control...I should have said weapon control, but I'll bet it led US intelligence beeing able to determine where many guns were. As far as I know it was the greatest and most cowardly act of weapon control ever. But apparently you think that that gun control was good CAN YOU SAY "HYPOCRITE"? Maybe you are just blinded by your partisan allegiance. I also pointed out the racist policies of gun controls....but you twist that into a statement of Liberal lunacy. So, I guess either you are for gun control if it is racist or you are for attacking me for the sake of attacking me. Fight like a man, not a desperate hair pulling nut kicker.
  16. What kind of paranoia substances have you been ingesting? The gun control made Hitler's control easier. It was by no means a matter of possible or impossible. Get back to Earth hatchetman! Even without the yellow chicken strategy of disarming Iraq before invading it, we still would have thrown out Saddam and conquered the oil fields. But it is interesting the history of gun control aimed at the prejudiciously deemed threats of society, the poor, the black, and probably others. If Rodney King had had a gun maybe he never would of got beaten, but we don't know that for a fact, and if he had had a gun and tried to use it, it probably would have just been another dead brother. Ratchet, you really need a realty check if you think when Hitlery becomes Ruler, she'll rounding up all the rich white guys and sending them to sterilization, concentration, and death camps. The people that need to arm up to fight tyranny in the USA are the pascifists(not going to happen) and the down trodden(They can't afford it unless George Soros buys them all Saturday Night Specials) Don't worry, you are safe rich white brother.
  17. So, I guess Guzzi should have made a dry sump or a deep hole of a sump with the oil intake in some oil plentiful abyss and therefore not needed a windage or sloppage reducer
  18. Thanks! Excellent response I wonder how to analyze the burn pattern on the piston????????
  19. Funny my calculator and computer show the same results. Is this the new math they are teaching in schools now-a-days? Or does the Breva come with an onboard computer that guestimates from fuel "level" readings???? It is not the GPS of the Norge, is it? EDIT ah, if I actually read, I see he says ": Fun (especially the ‘Blackpool illuminations’ start up), impressive, easy to set up but for me just a novelty really. Not very accurate either I suspect. The average fuel consumption figure is quite a bit less than it should be when the sums are done from the trip and fuel quantity. Also a little difficult to read as light fades and the full effect of the back-lights aren’t seen." And also note he is in the UK so presumably those are Imperial gallons. But he went on to write. "Fuel consumption seems to have settled around 45/46 mpg but I must admit I am rather heavy on the throttle so much better available I'm sure. Managed to see 102 mpg on the computer, practically free wheeling downhill in traffic on a run in the North Yorkshire National Park- also seen 12 mpg!!"
  20. So, now Ratchet wants to RAISE the compression???? Is there some benefit of thinner gaskets rather than forged high compression pistons if the compression ratio ends up being the same??? What is going on here? I though thicker gaskets reduced pinging??????????
  21. So we are allowed to protest the bodge?!? Seems like a perfectly good, permanent solution to me!?!
  22. For the curious:
  23. I thought the calibers were aluminum Perhaps the pistons are rusty??? Are the pistons stainless steel??? If they are rusty, you should pull them out to clean them. Maybe you just have rust dripping down from the pin that holds in the pads...or the pads are rusting. If so superficial cleaning should be fine. After cleaning, I like to lube the piston lightly with silicone (very lightly and don't get any on tires or brake pads) Some disagree with this strategy because of the attraction of dirt to the silicone and the risk of loss of friction at the tire or brake pads.
  24. Hi Pete, While waiting for Pete to respond, you might take a gander at this little diddy http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?...&hl=windage Pretty scary stuff...but as always YMMV.
  25. No more than usual. Just enjoying a little sarcasm, pointing out the folly of your ways. Come back to the light side, Master Ratchet!
