Why settle for merely decent when you can have better than that with Ohlins?

I hear it is the opposite of Mexico. Drink the water, but avoid the beer

I am not sure. Maybe the red/black should be connected for feedback through the warning light???? Cap the blue wire leading to the red/green wire, and the 30A fuse in the fuse block will become obsolete. EDIT, what was I thinking?!? There is no blue wire leading to the Red/Green. Good I recommend trimming the red and green wires to maybe eight inches long, and solder it to a 30amp inline fuse, and solder that to a wire maybe one gauge thicker than the red and green wire, and run that directly to the battery. I recommend the wire be RED. EDIT I should have said the Red wire from the Electrosport should idealy be trimmed to a few inches, have inline fuse attached, and then a slightly heavier gauge (preferably red(14gauge???)) to run to the battery. Note that I did blow my inline 30A fuse once since installing the Electrosport regulator. ($100 towing) More grounds are more better. I just connected the Guzzi black ground wire and the ElectroSport Green wire to Regulator's mounting bolt. Adding an additional ground there could be a good thing. I tried adding one there temporarily and running it direcly to battery negative post. It did not change the charging rate at all, so I left it off....but it is still a good idea.

how muslim women eat pasta
dlaing replied to TX REDNECK (R.I.P.)'s topic in Special place for banter and conversation
No, I don't see it. Perhaps we should crush the heads of all the women of the three least innocent countries??? Would that be US, UK, and Israel? Or Switzerland, Iceland, and Luxembourg? Or France, Germany, and Russia? Or Sudan, Rwanda, and South Africa? Or Bush's axhole of eeevole, Iran, Iraq, and Palestine? Or did Bush black list as eeeevole, North Korea, Vietnam, and Taiwan? Or maybe Singapore, Thailand and Phillipines? Or maybe it was Syria, Lebanon, and MoveOn.org??? Or Cuba, Venezuela, and Jamaica ? Or Morocco, Columbia, and Afghanistan ??? Turkey, Greece, and Hungary? Heck I think we should crush the guilty heads of the women of Abu Gharib, Gitmo, and Siberia, cause if they be in jale, they must be guilty -

Like American women, Israeli women are not rocket proof, but for some reason more muslim women get wounded by rockets than other women. American and EU women have little threat of rocket damage, so helmets are not required, except for those working for peace through superior fire power. But Israeli women are threatened by Rockets and suicide bombs. When the Jewish Israeli women get married, they have to wear wigs made of spaghetti. This could be hazardous given the current climate of the brink of war or terror, so they too should be given helmets instead of pasta wigs. Full face are not required in the Jewish faith, but are recommended for those who wish to disguise themselves when cheating on their husbands. -
...and a replacement spring is only $60 plus shipping. ...and if my wife would get a job, I'll buy Ohlins and sell my 475# HyperCoil/Sachs for $60. Since Ratchet has sweetened to the point of a dry martini, I'll give him first dibs.

You can act now by mailing your used helmets to your nearest Lebanese consulate, http://www.travelguru.net/html/consulates/lebanon.html Act now before the brains of another Lebanese women pour out like speghetti -
It may make more sense than going through the trouble of replacing the spring only to find a blown seal or cracked eye further down the road.

Daily Show Report - A Call for Action on Net NeutralityJuly 20th, 2006 by tkarr On Wednesday night, the Daily Show revisited Senator Ted Stevens’ speech on Net Neutrality to demonstrate what the Internet would look like without this guiding principle. Daily Show correspondent John Hodgman uses several envelopes or “packets” to illustrate how information travels across a neutral Internet. He then describes a world without Net Neutrality. Here’s Hodgman’s exchange with show host Jon Stewart. Watch it and then call your senator today: John Hodgman: The point is with Net Neutrality all these packets, whether they come from a big company or just a single citizen, are treated in the exact same way. Jon Stewart: So what’s the debate? That actually seems quite fair. Hodgman: Yes… Almost too fair. It’s as though the richer companies get no advantage at all. That’s why the big telecom and cable corporations are lobbying to create a special class of Internet service where, for example, this packet from Google and this one from Amazon get through very easily. But this packet from #@%!!TimeWarner.org somehow gets routed a little differently (Hodgman tears up an envelope representing the last packet and tosses it to the side). Stewart: So that packet will not get through? Hodgman: Oh no, it’ll get through. It’s just that they’ll travel on a second tier of the Internet, which, ironically, will be a series of tubes. Later Hodgman says that if Net Neutrality fails we should all get ready “for the excitement of the information super-tube.”

I did the aviation shear method, too....but then I found out the glass face pops off the reflector pretty easilly and pops back on, too! I would be concerned about the 30amp fuse. Unfortunately I don't have good advice about how to deal with it. You could run a heavier gauge bypass line, directly to the battery from the regulator. Check all your connections, clean and lube with dielectric silicone or better. Check the battery and charging system. You should get the shop manual, http://www.angelfire.com/weird2/v11/ Here is the excerpt for the regulator alternator Table says rpm 1000 3000 6000 AC Volts 15 40 80

IMHO they have plenty of value. OHLINS Without rider: (A- Rear: Road and Track 5-10 mm Front: Road and Track 25-30 mm With rider: (A-C) Rear: Road and Track 30-40 mm Front: Road and Track 35-48 mm I did previously omit the travel. The front is the same. But the rear Ohlins has 10mm more travel than the Sachs and 6mm more than the specs for the White Power, presumably what Hubert has. So, Hubert's shock is roughly ten percent shorter than the Ohlins, which puts him 3.5mm out of Ohlin's exceptable range. Far better than Nogbad's rear Sag, but still an indicator that a stiffer rear spring would really help Hubert's bike....and it really is worth the money IMHO and even more so in Ratchet's opinion. You didn't ask the rest of us, but in my less than humble opinion, Without rider: (A- Front: Road and Track 25-30 mm With rider: (A-C) Front: Road and Track 35-48 mm and you are at 24 and 32mm. Assuming your measurements are accurate, the fork spring is fine...but trim your spacer about 5mm. Make sure your oil level is not too high. Ratchet can give excellent advice on fork oil level.
-
Good idea. I measured incorrectly several times before Ratchet dropped by and helped me measure. (we used to be buds, way back...) The best thing is to go by the pub and find a bloak your size and pay him with a pint to sit on your bike while you measure. just don't hand him the keys.
-
But didn't his measurements verify what the sag numbers suggested, that he was not at 0.6kg/mm but close to 1kg/mm?

People do not ride slow enough. It is usually not bad suspension on a predictable road that kills, because riders almost always stay within those limits. It is bad suspension on an unpredictable road that riders do not ride slow enough for. Hubert's front end is almost correct. he just needs to drop the front a few millimeters....this will make a big difference. Raising the rear end 10mm will also make a big difference. I rode with my rear end like that for a long time before upgrading the spring. Yes, it sucked compared to having a proper spring, and yes it was more dangerous to ride, and yes I regretted not having put the "proper" shock spring on sooner. But this is Hubert's decision. I don't know what the roads are like in Germany, but I'll bet they are in better condition (aside from ice) than the roads Ratchet and I ride on. It is not like he weighs 300lbs and has 50mm sag. The improvements he gets from just taking 5mm off the front and raising the rear 10mm, will put a smile on his face, but if he gets the "proper" spring, the smile will be atleast 50% bigger. It is his choice. Ratchet could get a 50% bigger smile on his face, and be safer, if he had a full Ohlins setup, but I am not going to insist that he MUST DO IT!!! It is all relative.

I have not heard o Kal-Gard Final Drive, but Kal-Gard Engine Gard should be good stuff. It would not be needed if you use Ratchetline SheopleProof, but add it to a major brand synthetic and it will probably perform about as well as Redline ShockProof. But I am only guessing. They also have Kal-Guard Racing Gear Lube and Gear Gard, but I don't know much about them
-
Ohlins recommends for the rear Without rider 5-10mm With rider 30-40mm This leaves the maximum exceptable difference to be 35mm...certainly not ideal, and you or I would uprate our springs in a heart-beat, but those are very good numbers for touring on smooth roads. He will find great benefit by adding pre-load to the rear. I hope Luhbo realizes that a firmer spring would help the bike to initially sit lower, be more stable and resist bottoming better. I think my rear with 475# spring is set to 10mm-35mm for a 25mm difference. Ideally I would go for 15mm-35mm for 20mm difference, this would probably require a 500# or 525#spring. The other thing Luhbo could do in the turn is just shift his weight forward of where he measured his sag. My guess is he probably already does this when in the twisties.
-
Pete already did this one for earlier bikes, so I suspect it will look similar http://www.geocities.com/guzzitech_pics/PR-Windage.html And Ed Millich did this one http://www.guzzitech.com/Windage-ed.html

Those type of comments belong in the global warming thread, not here!!! (just joking ) But seriously, I think dynoing in hot weather at a moderately high altitude will be fine. Louie is smart and patient enough not to over heat your bike.
-
The Front should be fine...I would cut the spacer 5-10mm The Rear you could add 15mm of preload and be much better off. A stiffer shock spring would help but I would say is not a dire requirement at your weight for the WP shock which I believe came with a 475lb spring. PS what is OYB

What part of the word "decent" didn't you understand. If the world was really a free market McDonalds would be the nearly the only restaurant. US and Eurpopean Nuclear Warheads and control equipment would be made in China(probably some of it is already) Cable companies could block you from having the freedom to choose. Streaming Music, Video, phone conferencing, and video conferencing are the obvious targets. We are blocking some of that at work in the interest of preserving bandwidth, and apparently it is backfiring and messing up all sorts of needed internet activity. Your ISP could say, no Skype or equivalent, because they want you to use THEIR PRODUCT. They could say NO PORN except for Playboy and Disney Channel The real big brother is the corporation, answerable only to profit. The big brother you fear is answerable to the voter...for whatever a vote is worth. The point is Democracy, even if "representative" is far better than corporate plutocracy.

If a decent "net neutrality" bill is not passed your ISP could choose to block your porn or make is so you only get metrosexual porn I am not sure which bill or act folks are talking about....I think SoloNH is talking H.R. 5252 while Ratchet is likely talking S. 2917

I should have read the link before thanking you, but I was late for work...again, thanks to you and my lack of will power or sense of time Still thanks for the link to the definition. Good grief, I suppose the following quotes are meant as humor.... "Positive Crankcase Ventilation, named after the then head of the EPA Pierre Positive." "Welll, if that system is sucking the junk out, there must be a source of air to go into the crankcase else you would just implode the engine and the oil pan would collapse." " It's time for a new box of kotex or an engine overhaul, whichever is cheaper. " (I better ask my wife about which is cheaper ) As I understand it, we do not have a PCV valve. I always considered some degree of blow-by (either definition) to be normal. I believe if I had gone the motoman route I would have had less blow-by (either definition) but I also believe that new rings and re-honing is un-called for. You have every right to brag about the results. Since I switched to Repsol or Maxxum, consumption is quite tolerable....but still the airbox is pretty oily on the left side.. ahem! "Laing". thankyouverymuch.... I suppose I must have been brainwashed by someone into excepting both definitions....I still wash my air filter in "stoddard" solvent but don't know what "stoddard" is
