  1. Mine was dam messy when it went.
  2. San Diego is blessed with two excellent shops. Sonny Angel Motorcycle has been at the same location for over 50 years. I am not sure how long they have been selling Guzzis, but the first time I walked in lookin for a Guzzi was over 20 years ago. Great people! If ever in San Diego, you must visit. The other is GP Motorcycles. They probably sell more Ducatis than anything else that they carry. They are a bit more metrosexual. They all wear spiffy black shirts, are very enthusiastic about go fast Italian bikes, and they have a great reputation for taking care of their customers. I guess I was wrong about them and Aprilia. Apparently they already sell Aprilias....I just remember the store had mostly Ducatis, a few classic and or used bikes, a couple Guzzis, an MZ(but I think they dropped MZ) and maybe an MV Augusta So, maybe they will survive Piaggo???
  3. I think anyone who disagrees with Ratchets conclusion is a nitwit. Sorry if I offend anyone, but that combination of sag numbers is just plain lousy. Take it easy on the Dragon...you may feel your front end start to push out under you on turns...or it may just wash out on you ....be careful, keep your weight forward, and when you get back, please heed Ratchet's advice, re-check the sag, and fix it if necessary. You might also try dialing the compression damping all the way out on the front. I put a HyperCoil spring on my Sachs and it did help. I think I underestimated the ideal spring rate a little, but it is still much better than stock.
  4. I always figured flying would be more the sport of Gods....of course for us mortals, if you push the adrenalin level up, and make a mistake, you are dead if you are flying, but on a motorcycle, it is usually just a very painful learning experience....Keep the rubber side down. PS why hasn't RollerBall taken off???
  5. My Guzzi dealer probably sells about one new Guzzi per year. They are a classic bike shop and have no room for a full line of Guzzis, let alone any Aprilias. I hope this does not disqualify them from Guzzi dealer status. The other Guzzi dealer in town is stocked to the gills with Ducatis, and I doubt they would make space for Aprilias. What I suspect may happen is that both will give up on the Geese and the existing Aprilia dealers will be the new Guzzi dealers.
  6. I think if you took away the use of hands for the goalie it would get much more interesting and score would reach acceptible levels....all this 1-1 1-0 final score crap, bites. What do you think of Aussie Football and Rugby? Much better spectator sports than American Football, or soccer!!!imho
  7. a smaller tire in the rear and stiffer springs in the front are a good thing, but because of the change, you may need a lower front end, and stiffer springs in the rear (you may need 600lb springs, and be sure to lube the shock eyes as the Sachs are known to break).. Lowering the triples 10mm seems to be a good start....I benefited from about a quarter inch. Ratchet's advice, especially about sag is the key to good suspension set up.
  8. No, it is Ratchethack's de-indocrination camp for metrosexuals and nancy boys.
  9. That may indicate your lube is under weight and you need some Redline Shockproof Heavy
  10. Your logic is way off base. You twist much of what I say. Your hate mongering is disgraceful to humanity. Your meterophobic idea for nancy boy de-indocrination camps sickens me. So, we are finished as Guzzi Comerades.
  11. But the Strada rules in the wet test Thanks for the link I am suprised the Pirelli and the Metzeler differed so much. Since I live in a pretty dry area, like Ratchet, the Metzeler Z6 is the better choice.
  12. Placebo will be playing in Scotland and Ireland this weekend
  13. You are so full of crap. Fighting fire with fire. Justified retaliation was invented by MOTHERS! One of whom raised me to be both sensitive righteous. The logic behind hating hate may escape you, but it really is not so complicated. I am sure you will figure it out one day. Your labling people annoys me, and I don't have to sit idle for it. Trust me, I am being sensitive, but only because of forum rules. Your semantic logic is failing. None of your business. What if I lost them in an accident? What if I pump out a pint a day doing the misses? What difference does it make accept to the heartless pseudo machismos of the world?!?!? You are a piece of work.
  14. Most of my rider caused neutrals are caused by not releasing the foot from the shifter soon enough after the shift. Linkage adjustment may fix that. But not shifting far enough nor with the right timing will also blow the shift. If you do all your upshifts as if clutchless, but use a clutch anyway, I believe you are on the right track for flawless shifts. Otherwise their is the adjuster screw under the acorn nut that holds the secret to harmonious shifting. If you blow both your upshifts and downshifts the adjuster won't help, but if you only blow upshifts or only blow downshifts, the adjuster is the ticket to Shangrilla. Clues to adjusting it with the case closed are here http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?...topic=6118&st=0 If the case is open, you should have no trouble adjusting it...if you can loosen the aduster. this thread also may be useful: http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=5866&hl=
  15. SNAGs Rule! The insensitive neo-cromagnon white male is the root of most of the world's evil. If pushed, I am sure Beckham could kick Ratchet's callous ass with one hand tied behind his back. Go Nancy Boys!!!!! Atleast the Brits are not as humiliated as the Brasillians: Is it more manly to cover your face?
  16. What turns me off from the new bikes is the handlebars. If you can get past the handlebars, go for a new model. Yuck! Where is the adjustability? How much effort would it be to upgrade to clipons or standard bars???????
  17. I too am very happy with the Diablo Strada. I was worried they would not grip, but they seem to be as grippy as any of the marketed sportier sport touring tires. If I was in a wet climate, I don't think there is a better tire than the Strada. But the mileage will be the real test
  18. Nice to see Ratchet being so concise ...and your comments about damping are exactly what worked for me with the Marz and Sachs. I think alot of people are afraid to set the compression damping to minimum (I set to one click from minimum). It most definitely took away some of the harshness.
  19. You betcha! Considering I paid over $2000 US for my set up, I consider that price a steal.
  20. "fools" ride bikes "made by wery limited people" May the football team of the country with the best motorcycles win!!!
  21. Very nice! I was wondering how that fairing would look on a V11
  22. I learned that the hard way with my Electrex regulator But the jury is still out on the Electrex regulator, as I am still having electrical problems.
  23. "Also includes famous Moto Guzzi bouncing tach. " atleast he is staying a Guzzi. Personally I would stick to the 1100S, rather than go Griso. I wish I could buy it from him. It is a beautiful bike that has more muscle than its predecessors.
  24. If it was the guy wearing these, I suspect we all could have passed him
  25. I think that thread makes it look far more difficult than it is. All you need is: 1)Fender from Guzzi with Ohlins (solid or hollow axle does not effect fender) Paul M. mentioned this fender http://www.motorradparts-lehner.de/ Kotflügel vorne Carbon RSV001 102,00 € 2)Ducati 999 front hollow spindle/axle: ducati part number 819.1.043.1A 3)Ducati 999 spindle nut: 748.1.014.1A 4)Ducati 999 washer: 8000.70119 Or you could go with Guzzi equivalent axle parts...that the thread indicates may be cheaper. 5)One approximately ~104mm long spacer for the space between the bearings in the wheel You will probably need measure the space between the bearing, add 0.5mm and hav a machinist cut a tube to exactly that length. Your existing bearing spacer should be the right length, but the wrong Inner Diameter. Spacer ID must be just a little more than 25mm...1inch ID is about perfect. Tubing should be hard enough not to distort under torque. 6)One bearing, 52x25x15mm == 6205 - 2rs_ (you might as well get two bearings, just to start fresh. For me the process was easy because Mike Stewart bought and made everything I needed.
