about as much as my position on Power Commanders. Of course if you and Todd are on the jury, I am a dead man walking. But I'll say it with great certainty, Guzzi PCIIIs has far worse than a 0.01% failure rate, and the 0.0014%claim misrepresents the product. (they have laws against misrepresenting products, too.)
-
And that is why I said either it was a lie OR Guzzi PCIIIs are less reliable. My logic is based on obvious assumptions. We know there are no more than 600 PCIIIs on guzzis on this forum. We know atleast two failed, unless two of us are lying....a very small possibility. I am pretty sure the Guzzi Dyna Rep had one fail, too. BRING IT ON!!!!! BTW Go re-examine your statements about K&N filters and AGW.
-
Once again, we have two reasonable possibilities: One, they are lying. Two, Guzzi PCIII's fail disproportionately. Personally I suspect both are true, but I have no proof. We have two failures sited on this forum. I'll bet you I can site atleast one more failure. But let us stick with the two failures, and assume that every EFI Guzzi made since year 2000 had a PCIII installled and only 2 failed, what would the failure rate be? Well to be accurate we need to know the numbers, which I cannot find. But I think we can assume some numbers. So just to round things in favor of PCIII supporters, we have 600 members and assuming all of them have PCIIIs, a failure rate of 2 in six hundred is roughly 0.33333333333333333%....But just to be nice, let us round that to 0.28 percent....comparing that to 0.0014%, we have 200 times the alleged total failure rate!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If only one of us had had a failure, it would still be 100 times the failure rate. Sure every Guzzi PCIII owner that is not a forum member could have had no problems. But from the FACTS that we have, the failure rate is ATLEAST 200 times higher, and probably much higher as I doubt more than half of forum members have PCIIIs on Guzzis. Heck! alot of them don't even have fuel injected Guzzis. Compare that to the number of fuel pump failures on this forum.

I already explained the math I used.

I suppose after I make my down payment on an island in Dubai, I could put a down payment to be on the waiting list for a Ducati with too many cylinders...not that there is anything wrong with motorcycles with four cylinders or women with four breasts. What do you think? I am thinking about the island of Island (Iceland)

In other words, anemic. But I am sure it will have a market. Many still yearn for LeMans 850s

Why torture yourself with soft throwovers You need hard luggage, like maybe some 50liter Givi

If the failure rate is 1.4 in a hundred thousand and two people on this forum with Guzzis have failed, either the claim of 1.4 in a hundred thousand is a lie or Guzzi PCIII are thousands of times less reliable than other PCIIIs...edit: or following your logic, they are not less reliable, they just have bad luck at a mathematically unlikely probability. Sorry, I failed to include that possibility. That was VERY unreasonable of me I don't know exactly how many PCIIIs have been sold, nor how many sold to Guzzi six speeds, but it is pretty obvious that we can assume that Guzzi PCIII sales represent less than one percent of PCIII sales. Do the math and look at the failure rate for Guzzi PCIIIs. I can't believe you are a sucker for their lie.

She is definitely a Guzzi Girl with that 90 degree angle.

Could there be a connection to Pete Roper, Yak fat, and Argal? Boy, this is a tough word to research. Anyway it seems that Argal or Ergal refer to Aluminum 7075 http://www.suppliersonline.com/propertypages/7075.asp#Spec EDIT Oh, and not too expensive http://www.fastener-express.com/index.asp?...ROD&ProdID=2910

I think MotoInternational, MPH, and MGCycles all offer for about the same price and are the only importers...I could be wrong. MotoInternational is part of the TLM guzzi network that advertises with us, so I recommend them. If you are on a tight budget, a few have saved money by ordering from Agostini in Italy http://www.agostiniduilio.com/

Being one of the atleast two v11s to have the PCIII fail, I can only suggest that our fellow Guzzisti Extraordinaire was fed a lie or that most of the PCIII failures occurred on Guzzis and that the failure rate for other bikes is far lower than the 1.4 failures in one hundred thousand units. It could certainly be a fault with the Marelli 15M ECU, or the Guzzi wiring, that causes the PCIII failures. That being said, PowerCommander has excellent customer technical support, especially our fellow Guzzisti, and they repaired mine promptly and at no cost other than one way shipping, when it was well past warranty. FWIW, I suspect the Marelli 15M has a lower failure rate than the PCIII for Guzzi....but I could be wrong and they could all be sucking the life out of many of our batteries As for the throttle linkage, make sure the cable is seated properly on the cam lever wheel thingy, and that the rod is attached to both throttle bodies. Also make sure the rubber manifolds are not sliding off. And what the heck, disconnect the PCIII until you figure out the problem

They don't call the Kung Pao in NYC Chinatown "Redline" for nothing! (or was that the 3 train?) Roundtrip airfare and room and board(pizza, beer, and chinese food) for a week and I am there!
-
3500 is a steal! but probably better for someone who can wrench it themselves. You could probably pay an unemployed or retired mechanic $200 and a case of beer and some chinese food. EDIT but then again, you probably don't need a second bike, you probably don't have a garage, and there are cheaper bikes to own and operate. A Guzzi is a cheap bike to own if you are mechanically inclined, but otherwise, I think they must be kind of expensive to own...but any bike is a gamble.

I am surprised it is so little weight savings. Was that measured with similar brakes on each wheel? Still I think it is worth the effort, but maybe not the effort and the price of the wheel. I think a front Oz wheel for our bike is about $800US, I presume without bearings, spacers or rotors. With that small of a weight savings and the need to re-space everything, I would not give him more than $400US, but it would depend on whether it came with rotors, would the rotors need spacing, and whether the bearing sockets or housings would need re-milling.

I can't make up my mind!?!?!??!?!?!? Back when I had a bike with spokes, I wanted mags. Now that I have a bike with mags (with what was the rage, three spokes), I want spokes?!?!?!?!?!?! I love the look of the PVM 20 spokes, but the Alpines may be the ultimate wheels...still neither will likely claim to be as light as the Mavic forged magnesium

For a modern classic Italian hottie, go ogle Milena Miconi and turn that darn safe search off!

I have wished my Sport felt as relaxed and balanced as a Tonti, with a low center of gravity and longer wheel base. I suspect the Breva and Griso have headed more into that direction. I have wondered if putting the longer swingarm of a Quota on a spine, would give the bike better balance, more comfort and a more relaxed feel??? One would lose the paralever effect, but the torque jacking really is not that bad. I love what Paul M. did with his swing arm. I would have made it longer for touring, but he is going for sport, so what he did makes sense

Sorry, no contest. Parallel suspension wins hands down! But, other aspects of the bikes could be compared...

I am still waiting for someone to sell TeflonĀ® coated alternator covers Or maybe I could just paint it with silicone-epoxy anti-grafitti paint http://www.wearloncorp.com/index.php/products If the stuff is slippery enough, it may raise my top speed 0.00001 MPH

Hey! What you talkin'?! Those look fine....especially the last two

Tell me about it! I have just missed a month of riding. I should just slam it back together and forget about it. It would be nice if there was a wiring diagram. Maybe I could nudge Wayne MacDonald for a beta of the TuneBoy diagnostic.

What a shame. That is almost depressing enough to make me want to give up on the marque. But other brands aren't any better. Last time I was stranded many bikes passed by with me obviously in distress.
