All you have to do is show them the printout if you want to brag. You have a peak HP gain through 80% of the rpm range. Looking at the last posted Quat-D muffler, these pistons could really help. These pistons would be perfect for enhancing a slightly hotter cam. With a hotter cam, you could brag about 80HP while the higher compression piston would help keep the power at the bottom that otherwise would be lost, while enhancing the mid range. Excellent! Have you noticed any lack of driveability with these pistons? Others have suggested that high compression pistons are bad and will cause pinging or pinking and all sorts of nightmares.

Sucks air in...How lean does this make it? I don't know, but it is no big deal to plug it. Beats burnt valves.

With the ignition key off, try pulling the number one fuse(forward most fuse) and put the volt meter across it. If you get something like 9 or 10 volts, you have the same problem I do. If not, you may have a leak elsewhere, a bad battery, or something else like bad charging.

It would be tough to choose it over a top of the line Ducati Retro with Ohlins Or a road legal MGS01

Yah, after I posted that I read some letter from Kenny Dreer saying that the investors had lost faith. It sounds like he is not completely giving up. If I won the lotto, I would buy in, but move production to China, but then all the bike bigots might be turned off...I wonder if I would still buy one if it was made in China Maybe I could move production to Guantanamo bay and keep it American made, but with Cheap Intelligent Arab labor.

Almost as wonderful to behold as bad taste. Oh, and I forgot to add to the list the prejudice of Harley riders is the worst, kinda like the prejudice of white males is the worst. So, that was the negatives of Harleys and their culture. Just to be balanced, I will struggle to come up with some positives: two wheels art appreciation (even if OC choppers and the like is déclassé trailer trash art, it is still art) quality appreciation: billet, carbon fiber, hot babes, chrome Push rods twin cylinders understanding that there is more to bikes than just HP they sound better than inline fours (more bigotry, sorry ) Don't even get me started with all the other posers, the crotch rockets, the alternative cruisers, the brit bike elitists, the beemer elitists, the adventure riders with GPSs who never adventure, the ducati elitists, and worst of all the Guzzi elitists who somehow believe their antiques are the best. If I was really open minded I suppose I would wear chaps on Monday, ballistic on Tuesday, tattoos on wednesday, shave my head on Thursday, put on a phony tail on Friday, bright multi-colored race leathers on Saturday, wife beater and flip flops on Sunday, and ride while under the influence of every drug I could get my hands on, in moderation of course. You can do whatever you want. If you want to ride some ridiculous chopper, I'll wait for you at the next cross road. You wanna play cops and robbers all dressed up as a bad boy, hey, it is your fantasy. I think it is silly. If you want to call me a bigot for that, go ahead. I will stick to my keep it simple approach, with a dirty guzzi, conservative black leathers, full face helmet, simple ballistics covered in dead bugs, no GPS, yes WBO2, no tattoos, no jewlery except maybe a watch or wedding band, no LOUD open pipes, no dew rag, no NASCAR cap, I like my head to breathe after taking a helmet off, suspension that handles, horsepower that moves me to a pleasant exhileration level. I am sure some people find that unappealing too and that I lack style, no problem.

Or move to mount palomar and just commute two hours each direction everyday Or get a truck battery, or I could also move the #17 to the keyed side of the wiring by putting a relay between the number one fuse and the number seventeen pin...but maybe the ECU needs voltage there before the relays provide voltage Still I want to get it fixed, but I have just missed over a month of riding......

well the piercer worked pretty well. They could center a little better. But my results to date are inconclusive other than making think I need a third ECU for testing. Anyone want to loan me theirs? Carl wrote in another thread, The relay socket terminals don't seem to have any continuity between them, so there is no short there.(but there is continuity where there should be between sockets) One interesting thing is if the PCIII is connected, there is something like 10K ohms between the #26 and the 87 injection relay terminal and 85 ecu relay terminal, but take away the PCIII and that goes away...probably where the PCIII gets its power. I have pulled all the fuses, all the relays, disconnected every harnass and sensor that is accessible under the tank, and from what I can figure out, the volts go in the #17 and then go to ground somewhere. I have pretty much eliminated the headlights, alternator, regulator, horns, engine position sensor, TPS, cylnder head temp, air temp, oil pressure switch, neutral switch, relays, relay blocks, fuses, fuse blocks, FI pump, fuel injectors, coils, fuel pump, ECU diode, turn signal relay, clutch switch, sidestand switch, and more. Probing the wires shows no rise in voltage to any of the ecu wires other than the #17. I put an ammeter on the main ECU ground and found no current, so it may be going out to the other ground wires, #23 and #24. I'll try to figure out how to test them without cutting wire... By the time I get this figured out, I will have Carl's wiring diagram memorized for everything touching the ECU

How might it interfere? What do you mean by gas cable mimic?

I think that would depend on whether or not the hump divides the fuel before the sensor is triggered. If the hump divides the fuel before the sensor is triggered, sensor trigger time would be greatly effected by fuel slosh over the hump. If the hump does not divide the fuel before the sensor is triggered, I suppose all would be fine. One potential problem of moving the pressure regulator to the left side is that it may be too close to the cylinder head. The level sensor is much smaller than the pressure regulator. Perhaps the fuel petcock would have to go where the level sensor is, and the regulator, where the petcock is, and the level sensor where the regulator is. But moving the level sensor back and to a slightly different level, will provide less reliable readings....but do we really care? Otherwise I see no reason why the pressure regulator would not be functional on the left side. There could still be hidden issues like bumping the inside walls, etc.

I imagine these are out of most people's budget http://www.confederate.com/ ~$70K or better yet http://www.nortonamerica.com/ ~$20K

Jan, Welcome to the forum! There is a key lock on the right side, just forward and up a little ways from the right foot peg. Sometimes you need to give the seat a little press down to help the latch release. You can download an owner's manual here http://www.servicemotoguzzi.com/IndexGuzzi.asp You will want the 2001 V11 manual This link may download it directly http://www.servicemotoguzzi.com/public/lum...sche%202001.zip or not...

It is leftist greeny guilt, not the law, that makes me want to put it back on, if the gas evaporates so quickly.

Another fine idea

Sorry about the bad news, and glad it was not worse. This has been a bad couple months for people crashing bikes. All we can do is play it safe, and even then sh^t happens. There are thousands of people out there with cataracts, limited brain cells, cell phones, hot coffee, distractions, and vanity that keeps them from wearing eye glasses. I don't like mixing it with traffic. But even the open road has coyote and deer I hope that foot heals well.

With the eBay boom, they already are rich! Perhaps what I should have done was bought the MY15 from you, as that does not even use the #17pin that is sucking my battery dead. I may now have two bad ECUs
-
If you are correct I may have to reinstall the collostomy sackage I'll have to research it, if nobody has the data.
-
PS, I may be looking for a third ECU.

I sold mine to some guy on this list for $125 and then bought it back from the sucker for $124.98 profit!!! Just kidding, I paid him $125 and I guess we both lost out on shipping. I saw a Ducati one on eBay for $50, but I am not sure they will work, and if they do work, they should need re-mapping.

I think alot of people are waiting for Buell to take the V-Rod engine and create some revolutionary sport twins. But then would one be better off with KTM, Aprillia, Honda or Suzuki twins???? It might not matter as the HD marque has its following.

Sounds like you had more than a Blast ®

I save mine for the potential "fix-it ticket" or heaven forbid I ever sell my beloved. No annual motorcycle inspections in California, yet.

What am I missing here? From what I understand, you want to have: a petcock on the left. a return on the right that feeds only to the left. As the fuel level lowers, more and more of the heated fuel will remain on the left side of the tank and the fuel on the right side of the tank will unused and will effectively decrease the volume of gas available for full circulation.
