Yah, it is kinda like saying cops and robbers both smoke marijuana. It may be true, but it is illegal to say.

I suspect that is normal. I seem to recall trying to measure sag and getting about 10mm difference between lifted up and settled and pushed down and settled Perhaps someone with Marzocchis could measure and post.

Yah the labor charge for the four or five services would have been about twice the rebuild charge, so congrats on the cheapness But then again, you probably did enough damage that you will need new tubes and a new rebuild after your next four 12K services, so you will pay then anyway ....or just splurge and get the year 2010 model Ohlins Super R&T for only $10,000 ($3000 2006 US dollars) Or just get a second hand 97 Sporti forks with low miles, for under $1000. If you order now, I'll sell you my Marzocchinis for $500 as cheap insurance against rebuild and re-chrome. They were serviced at 11.5K and pulled at 26.9K...so I guess I was a little negligent, especially for not doing it annually.

I alway tightened lower triple, put weight of bike on, and tightened upper triple, but I always thought it was voodoom and never put spindle clamps into the equation. Maybe Chris put something together wrong Or maybe the forks developed a wear pattern and the tubes are rotated out of that wear pattern Or too much fluid in one damper may cause harshness of ride, so maybe the draining was not complete and the refill plus the undrained totals too much fluid and not enough air space.

Lean popping durring decelleration might be a symptom that it is working. If it does not pop, it may save fuel mileage, egxspecially in on and off again throttle traffic and twisties

To some degree Dan is certainly correct, but from Ohlins' R&T manual "Inspection and maintenance Clean the front fork externally with a soft detergent. Use compressed air. Be careful that all dirt and debris is removed. Keep the front fork clean and always spray it with oil (QS 14, WD40 or CRC 5-56 or similar) after washing the vehicle." It is one of the few areas of my bike that I clean regularly(because the forks were so darn expensive) I also have been siliconing the rear shock shaft...

Is that English? -
You could try some silicone spray on the fork tubes... Your axle spacers could be off

IMHO engine oils are thin on particulate additives like zinc, phosporus, Moly, etc. If can find the moly engine additive, it should not hurt...maybe it will take money from your wallet and clog your filter, but it will also reduce wear a little, not sure where, but the cam chain would be one place. Of course I just waste enough money changing the synthetic motorcycle oil every 3000 miles, so I would not bother with additives. Although I went 5000 miles with the last batch of Repsol...good sheit! But if I used automotive synthetic, I would consider a moly or a zinc/phospate additive. (might be cheaper than the Repsol...)

I remember the first time someone showed me the tank suck fix, and reached under my gas cap and pulled out the little seal plug and tossed it to the ground saying, "problem solved" I chased the bouncing rubber, grabbed it, and put it in my pocket. I later sliced a small slit in it and reinstalled it. The fuel should drain more slowly. In retrospect I would go with an even smaller slit, as it only needs a pin hole to breathe. Or better yet, the "proper" solution is to allign the tip over valve properly, relative to gravity. This might require longer hoses and duct taping to the frame. Some valves may even have been installed backwards

How do you follow the down arrow? I want to go back and play Saturday's Lotto with the correct number. -
Since I was not getting reliable readings back probing, I am going to give these a try: waekon gold The Bullet part number 77004 Wire Piercing Probe Set ...anybody wanna purchase my PCIII serial after I get done piercing it? EDIT DANG! I can't find anything!!!! I probed every wire coming out of the ECU for a change of voltage and only the 17 showed anything @#%!#$%$%!!!! All I know is that the battery is draining into the ECU, but I can't figure out where it is going after entering it. I am almost ready to start snipping the wires and then bridging with the ammeter. I will start by bridging the ground.

Time is just an illusion that we can only interpret relative to our experience. We fail to remember the future and predict the past, but that does mean that it is impossible to do. Perhaps it is the relativist who dares try. After we die, I suspect we may be able to transcend the absolutes, like uni-directional time, that many thought they had been proven. -
Those appear to provide the ultimate adjustability! Did the brake relocator come with the kit, or did you have to fabricate that to change the angle of the brake? And a side note, sorry if I am being a weiner, but I think Greg should use the crossover hanger. I had both my stock crossover and quatd exbox welded because of stress. Who knows, maybe there is less stress without the hanger, but I doubt it.

I love how we can throw our personal bias in just through the exact wording. Same thing happens in polls about politics and such.
