  1. Keep in mind it is better to hit the foot of the stand where it is rubber mounted and will give a little then it is to hit up front at the stand's hinge. The more of the rubber you cut out, the further the front protrudes. Less sag and shifting your weight more are the easiest solutions. It would be nice if someone built a better stand. Longer, higher, bigger foot, easy to retract and extend, self retracting(although some don't like that)
  2. I think the /60 would actually have an increased contact patch...a little shorter, but wider contact patch. The only thing I'd be concerned about is geometry and weight bearing. I'll bet the weight bearing rating is not very different, and the geometry could probably be compensated for in the fork adjustment. But it would feel different.

Warning Sarcasm follows: Power to the people?!? Close the door to this oval office, as these words should not get out. The people should not have power, that should belong to us rich white guys. The people are full of the relativist mis-truths, and only absolutist logic as defined by we, the "successful," should control society. We maintain control through manipulation, dishonesty, and corruption, because the ends justify the means, trust me. If you don't trust me, I'll throw you in the gitmo. Ok, you can open the door now... Democracy is what the world needs. We spread Democracy. You worked hard and I want to lower your taxes. The economy is doing great! Mission accomplished. Life is sacred. "America is a friend to the people of Iraq. Our demands are directed only at the regime that enslaves them and threatens us. When these demands are met, the first and greatest benefit will come to Iraqi men, women and children. " " America must not ignore the threat gathering against us. Facing clear evidence of peril, we cannot wait for the final proof, the smoking gun that could come in the form of a mushroom cloud. " " America is a Nation with a mission - and that mission comes from our most basic beliefs. We have no desire to dominate, no ambitions of empire. Our aim is a democratic peace - a peace founded upon the dignity and rights of every man and woman." "America stands for liberty, for the pursuit of happiness and for the unalienable right for life. This right to life cannot be granted or denied by government because it does not come from government, it comes from the creator of life." George W. Bush
  4. Last year I had six RedBulls and then lane split south homeward @ > 20MPH over traffic sppeeedd, can you say sppppeeeeedddd??? freakin' insane, never again, thank you. Decafe please.
  5. On the Carl Allison, this old tractor, Will Creedon TPS instructions, they recommend setting with the engine running(mostly on the left cylinder). I always presumed this was to produce more volts at the clamps. I had trouble getting mine to idle running on the left cylinder, so I just measured with igniiton on and engine off.(maybe that is what I am doing wrong....) Good point!
  6. Nah, red valve covers.

It's Global Warming Boyo!?! He has just about the perfect initials. George Washington G8 Great Well Best Global Warming Bullshit The Dems even gave it good shot by putting up JFK II, but alas corruption robbed them of victory. What a JacKofF! Ronald Wilson Reagan 6 6 6 insane anglo warlord Racist White Right Back to the G8...Do you think they are gonna nuke the Arabs and take their oil? Or just take their oil? Or do you think the Arabs are gonna nuke us, and go do virgins in heaven? Or just go do virgins in heaven? Do you think they have a plan to blame AGW(anthropogenic global warming) on the Chinese? Or do you think @#$$#! Cheney will accidently shoot Berlusconi? Or maybe GWB will ask to have Saint Petersberg renamed Halliburtongrad? or St. Condoleezaberg???
  8. With all due respect, I agree that you are probably correct that it was just the wrong bearing, but I don't think we'll know for a year or two whether or not it is a "fact" that the design is sound. How easy is this bearing to replace? I imagine replacing it every other tire change might not be such a bad hassle. I already do that with my rear brake pads. Not to mention greasing the shaft is a pain in the zerk.

80562[/snapback] Do realize that G8 and GB look very similar? Could GB really be a savant? We know he has the idiot part down.
  10. No, Left-leading concepts lead to harmony, unless of course the Right gets all paranoid and starts killin' and shit. One thing that we should be grateful for is that our V11sixspeed, like the press, is not as offset to the Right as is the V1100Sport and GWB. But unfortunately we all get shafted from the Right. Perhaps Guzzi meant it as a metaphor about Fascism.

No Ratchet. I am mildly offended by the statement targeting hippies. The examples are just parallels targeting a wide enough spectrum of the population that I figured would help everyone understand that it is mildly offensive. Apparently not. More evidence of xenophobia. I am barely bothered by places that serve dogs, and bunnies, but would probably draw the line on seals served in Yuppie bars. Sex on the tables between consenting adults, no problem. Donkey shows, sorry, I am too PC for that crap. Cigarettes, don't love them, but I am healthy enough to tolerate them...pity they don't allow cloves, cigars and pipes, they sure smell better....no accounting for taste. Civil War memorabilia, cool shit, but I do find it hypocritical for people to find swastikas offensive, but can't fathom why a Confederate flag is offensive. Meat, I don't eat mammals, but for some reason it would be ridiculous for me to be intolerant of meat eaters. Heck, if I had you over for a BBQ, I'd be sure to ask you if your diet required dead cow and I'd wrap my fingers around the ground and mold you a fine burger, but I'd probably ask you to cook it since I was never good at getting to right level of done. What is the big deal with being less offensive to people who are different than you? Admit it, most of you are politically correct in some way. Some don't like be called slanderous names, and we generally abide, especially when they are victims. There is generally more tolerance of Mc and Wasp jokes than Black and Jew jokes, and I believe it for a good reason. Some don't like lawyer jokes...but I'll bet Bill does because he is not a victim and he is a good guy with with little guilt. Some don't like chiropractororory witch doctoring....and DOCC has a good sense of humor about it. Some have posted jokes about retards, and have apologized, because it was offensive to some. Was that overly politically correct? Or was it correctly politically correct? Xenophobia starts from not being able to see why someone other than YOU would be offended. I have offended people and had the balls to apologize. How about you? I am probably offending someone right now, but I am not going to apologize, because it is their own smoldering guilt that makes them feel offended, and I am only pointing it out so that they can grow into better people. Actually that is a lie. I am doing it to win an argument, and I have no faith that they will change, because they are stuck in their diseased truth.

"If you are easily offended, there is a good possibility that you will be offended here. We offer our customers delicious grilled animal products, a great selection of booze, and the option to smoke cigarettes. Consider yourself warned, hippy." While I appreciate the that they post what to expect, from the tone of the warning I am not sure I feel welcome. It feels kinda like them saying, If you are easily offended, there is a good possibility that you will be offended here. Our walls are lined with civil war memorabillia. Consider yourself warned, African-American. or If you are easily offended, there is a good possibility that you will be offended here. Every table has a bible. Consider yourself warned, gay. or If you are easily offended, there is a good possibility that you will be offended here. We do not serve dead animals, we offer a fine selection of herbal teas, and the option to burn incense. Consider yourself warned, redneck. They probably meant it in good humor, but it is in typical xenophobic bad taste.
  14. It is a black and white sign, reading Le Man Road, which translates as The Man Road. Is that good for a quiz point? As for the extra points, I have not a clue.

That is funny, I just gave you a Mensa point in the global warming thread, and here you are having already given me a point....SWEET! I think you deserve another Mesna point But you have to give Ratchet a bicker point, too.

Eleven V-lashes for sacrilege!!! And easy on Bill, he ain't exactly a rioting pillager...lawyers have more civil ways of looting And I doubt he has connections to anything as vile as Newt Gingrich.
  18. Very interesting! Now if we could only get you to cook up some pasta ala BFG (meaning photos with diagrams would have been great...or )
  19. An interesting thought. I have the Electrex voltage regulator on my bike, and it produces very different voltage at various rpms. I did not notice a difference, but I did think about that possibility. Perhaps your performance improvement is more related to getting a better ground after swapping the battery But I suppose a bad battery could give you one less volt, which might shift your ECU map cells over one position, leanward.
  20. Obviously you weren't drunk enough. Unlike Golf, curling is a true game of skill, the camera can actually focus in on the action of the competition. Like that silly tiny white ball, who can keep an eye on that? and then you have to watch some stupid scoreboard to watch how your player is doing while they cover some other player with less handicap. Gimme a break. Bowling and Curling are the sports of Kings! It is a real travesty that Golf gets so much attention. I think it all part of the "gold member" syndrome Maybe if they did golf with a Frisbee® it would deserve the attention, but even then, ultimate is soooooo much better than just about any sport, and hockey is kind of like ultimate curling, but it still falls short of roller ball as being the ultimate sport, Rollerball! Valentino Rossi doesn't have the balls for IOM or Rollerball! http://www.videonorte.com.br/wallpaper/rollerball_1024.jpg http://images.google.com/images?q=rollerba...en&lr=&safe=off
  21. I don't think that being centered over the selector rollers indicates that the eccentric adjuster is set properly You want to be right in between the two obvious failure points, where it either won't upshift at all or it won't downshift at all. Note the weight of the selector pedal also has some effect and ideally would be counterbalanced... My fabulous instructions for adjusting it with the case closed are here http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?...topic=6118&st=0 Check it out. BelfastGuzzi cooks up some tasty pasta, and I critique it. If the case is open, you should have no trouble adjusting it...if you can loosen the aduster. this thread also may be useful: http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=5866&hl= If it is not the adjuster, I have no idea, I have never replaced the spring.
  22. I have had it leak at just about every joint, and I have not had a heater hose split. The heater hose swells and oil slides under the joints allowing it to swell and loosen more and let more oil under and out and therefore a leak. Call it effort, or "trying" or crap luck or crap product, any way you slice it, it sucks. Minimizing the number of connections, minimizes the problem. Maybe I need need genuine Metric hose and fittings....then what the heck, we'll throw in a couple more fittings and hose clamps
  23. Yah, my bike needs something like 12.5V or it won't crank. Meanwhile today I fired up my mother's car with 12.1V before going out to buy her a new battery.
  24. My cleaning is bare minimal. I use silicone spray on metal parts, especially the fork sliders, steering damper slider, headlight bezel. I use brake cleaner on brake disks. Damp rag on wheels. Detailing spray on painted surfaces, although my paint is so bad now, I just use a dry paper napkin, which is otherwise taboo. Saliva works great in a pinch to help remove bugs. I have completely given up on the alternator cover. On vinyl, I use Something Better protectant, which seems better than armor all. On leather mink oil is probably the best, but the cheaper Chelsea leather food is recommended by experts. I have been meaning to get saddle soap for the cleaning before conditioning. I gave up on the exhaust bluing a long time ago and now it is beautiful patina.
  25. That should work A rough measurement indicates it just needs to be less than about 65mm I would just need to grind down the 12mm diameter on one side. It appears that they make the couplers so fat, just to withstand high pressure 3000-6000PSI of industrial grease guns. We probably don't go over 1000PSI when greasing our U-Joints http://plews-edelmann.com/brochure.cfm?bro...ocation_id=2726 shows some choices. the 180° Swivel Coupler and the 90° Swivel Coupler adapter look promising I probably already have one, but need to find it and grind the tip down...
