  1. I disagree as my bike definitely benefits from NOT so slight windage control as observed by the oil consumption being greatly reduced, especially when compared at higher oil levels. And I recall Pete posted that oil consumption reduction WOULD be a benefit from the reduced windage. As for the power benefits, I would agree that they would be at, but more likely BELOW the threshold of human perception.
  2. Good to see you agree that it is also a windage plate, and also a pleasure to see you saying I missed what I did not. Assuming are we?
  3. Good man have died (gloriously) following such logic
  4. My SEARCH turned up Pete saying the primary function is reducing shloppage and the secondary function reducing windage. I could not find where he said it is not a windage tray. The primary schloppage function reduces oil starvation. The secondary windage function helps reduce oil consumption, and theoretically improves Power/Efficiency. Whatever you call it, it works at reducing oil consumption AND starvation! Since all threads are useless without photos, here is a photo Dan Coronado took of the Ratchet assisted install of the Motomoda sheet Best wishes to Pete in these trying times.
  5. Forum member Kiwi Dave runs a Guzzi rental shop called Guzzi Gander in Auckland (On North Island) http://www.guzzigander.com/ Contact Details: enquiries@guzzigander.com Tel: +64 9 444-6612 Fax: +64 9 444-6623 P.O. Box 40-242 Glenfield, Auckland 0747 New Zealand How easy is it to get from the North to the South Island?
  6. While turning the key, press downward on rear of the seat, and then pull the seat up.
  7. I had theorized doing a similar supercharger, not with a Duck, but building a triple where the middle cylinder is bored out to a larger displacement, reed valves to move twice the air. But yah, it would be tough to make it make more powerful than a real triple. Perhaps it would be more fuel efficient????
  8. http://www.tuneboy.com.au/TuneDownloads/TunesGuzzi.html Lists the LeMans with Catalytic Convertor. Isn't that a lambda equipped bike?
  9. Isn't the 15rc for the Breva 750 etc., not for the V11? I'd bet Tuneboy probably connects to the 15M that has an oxygen sensor input. But I am less sure about lambda options. The tutorial shows how to adjust the AF but it does not specify Guzzi. My bike has no O2 sensor, and I'll bet FE-427's bike has none either, but if his does, he should check with TuneBoy before ordering. They say they support 15M, not 15RC. Here is a link to the list of supported Guzzis http://www.tuneboy.eu/fitment.aspx They don't specifically mention some of the newer models, so maybe there is an incompatibility???
  10. A glitch? That is too bad. I thought it might prove to be better than tuneboy. You could try TuneBoy. I use it and love it, and favor it over PCIII and MY15M. Tuneboy can do more of what I want than PCIII, and it can do almost everything MY15M can for less money. Yet the number of Tuneboy sales is far lower. WTF?!?
  11. How about a list of the nations where the state murders people as a form of punishment: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Use_of_capita...hment_by_nation The USA is in good company there.
  12. Putting words in other people's mouths again?
  13. Touché! Funny how the Righties are for strong police state, but that is the fault they find with Cuba and Venezuela (which were police thugs states long before the lefties came into power) I am not saying they should not relax the police state, just giving a reality check to those in need. Which racist country imprisons the highest percentage of black people? I'll give you a hint, Ratchet lives there, and probably votes for the SOBs that make that happen.
  14. You could do a study to prove almost anything
  15. Very nice. Where do you get those?
  16. "Some people can put juju inside the helmets and when they are worn the victim can either lose consciousness or be struck dumb," LOL! That quote from the article makes more sense then the Harley rebels claiming "helmets are only good for a speed of up to 15-18 miles per hour." (which makes sense if you only measure the velocity towards an object, like sliding head first into a curb, but helmets DO protect at much higher speeds, as riders are launched into the air when cutoff or are high sided, or simply fall to the pavement sliding with head grinding and bouncing down the road)
  17. LOL! Maybe we should have language sub-forum to learn Australian, Canadian, New Zealandian, Bostonian, Irish, American, etc. I understood one word in that exceptionally great video, Volare (to fly) what a tacky song. Maybe the car commercials for the Volare ruined it for me.
  18. Did you get a chance to charge the battery?
  19. Regarding charging, opinions are all over the place on how to charge. If you have a Hawker battery, I'd recommend using one of their recommended chargers that take the battery to 100% with very little risk of over charging. However some have used automotive and trickle chargers allegedly without damaging the batteries. I assume Hawker sets strict guidelines to minimize warranty replacements. Basic trickle chargers don't apply enough voltage to bring it to 100% charged, but they can usually get it close enough. SOME automotive chargers can deliver too many Volts. You can start with 10 or even more amps(Hawker says there is no limit (since limiting the voltage will limit the amps)), but reduce the amperage when volts reach 14.8V. The secret is to watch the voltage and keep it below 15V. For a Hawker battery try to keep charging voltage between 14.2 and 14.8V
  20. Most batteries can be considered fully charged If they read 12.65V (Voltage should be read after resting for a few hours after riding or charging. Turn ignition key on and let fuel pump prime, do NOT start, then turn ignition key off, read battery terminals) The reason the brand is important is because AGM batteries such as the Hawkers and the Spark 500 (OEM on early V11s) are not fully charged at 12.65V but at about 12.75-12.85V. The reading is effected by temperature and battery brand. Keep in mind, that just because it reads 100% charged, does not mean it is a good battery. (see Raz and Dan's posts above) You could have plenty of Volts, but not enough amps available because of battery damage. We use Volt readings because they are easy. See chart below at http://img529.imageshack.us/img529/3681/so...erature2jq8.png Notice that the thick red line represents a Hawker at 77F while the other lines and the chart represent other AGM batteries.
  21. Should we have a poll? No, that would be absurd. We can't wait the same year over, unless of course the Large Hadron Collider messed up the time space continuum in just the right way. In that case this thread might not make sense. If this thread does not make sense, could that be evidence that they were successful with the collider and created a black hole or other quirky thang? Just in case, I wish you all a happy new year, again.
  22. Maybe this thread needs more photos of naked cush drives? Happy New Year and monolithic elastomers to the masses!
  23. What happens when two protons going in opposite directions at 99.999999999999999999999999999999% the speed of light collide? The end of the world? Is it time to move to a safer planet?
  24. Yah, licking a monitor just doesn't have much taste, but I'll pass on tasting your's.
