As I read the 2nd amendment, it is ambiguous enough that you cannot draw an exact conclusion. There is no restriction on what kind of weapons we can keep and bear, if we are a member of a well regulated militia. Nuclear weapons, chemical weapons, body armor, anti-aircraft, anti-battleship, air craft, battleships etc. But are we well regulated if we have Nuclear and Chemical weapons? I suppose that is where other laws like the Geneva Convention come into play. If we are not a member of a well regulated militia, we are not guaranteed any right to keep and bear arms, by the 2nd amendment. But, gun advocates have gone to great lengths to redefine the second amendment and courts have often ruled in their favor, and the popular consensus is that we have some rights to keep and bear arms, even if we are not in well regulated militias. Gun control has followed the assassinations of the Kennedys and the attempt at Reagan. Unless some right wing nut job goes and shoots at Obama, we are not likely to see any major changes. Maybe that is what they are betting on???? I just hope we don't more Waco like ATF raids. There is a big difference between building up arsenals for defense against the ever-coming armageddon, defense against burglars, or simply pleasure of gun ownership, vs. offense with purpose such as terrorism, treason, or crime.

Solutions to Higher compression are: Lower compression Reshaped combustion chamber and or piston. Reduced squish (a counterintuitive approach since it raises compression, but experts say it reduces pinging.) Solutions to combustion chamber deposits: Seafoam (never tried it) proper map to eliminate overly rich spots on the map. (apparently debatable) Solutions to lean mixture: tune-up re-map go back to stock mufflers Solutions to high engine load: ride slower Go on diet EDIT oh yeah, downshift (downshifting may be viable solution if you ping at 3000 rpm but if you ping at 6000 RPM all bets are off). Solutions to high ambient temperature: Don't ride in Summer. Big Bore water cooled kit.

Our instructions recommend keeping the right throttle idle screw off completely. The right throttle will remain in place by tension on the synchronization rod. The benefit of doing it that way is that the balance is better maintained when transitioning from idle to giving it throttle. But there are counter-arguments to this. There is more flex between the left screw and the TPS, so if you close the throttle ten times, you will get several different voltage readings at the TPS, but if you set the right screw also, the throttle closing will get a more consistent TPS voltage reading at idle. The difference between the two methods is small, at least theoretically. In practice I am sure we will see 10HP gains (just kidding!) If the idle screws were loctited in, I could see how it would be beneficial to lock down the two idle set screws so that two TBs would rest consistently at idle, in balance, with a more consistent TPS reading. But I can also see that setting the right idle screw causes the left cylinder to pull harder initially. Six of one, half dozen of the other as far as I am concerned. I am rich. You can count on me for 1 euro! But I think we should wait the bastards out. Piggadaggio is now left with a badge, some old parts that might be worth a little something, a debt, some patents, a money hole museum, and a bad reputation. They are going to find the badge next to worthless, unless they can build a better Guzzi with respect for tradition. The old parts are worth less than the debt. If we could get some of the Billionaires on this forum to contribute, we could wait on Piaggio's failure with the Guzzi Badge, which will happen when the bean counters say to turn the museum into condos. We then buy the patents for 1 million, the museum for another million, and the badge and parts for 1 euro. That is a debatable question. People get good results with all methods. I prefer to balance with the bleed screws and am adamant that doing so produces better results. I prefer not to use the right idle set screw because the transition to throttle on is smoother, but using the right idle screw may help keep a reliable idle, and give a more identical TPS reading with each closing of the throttle. Yes, do use the white knob to adjust the balance at higher revs, like 2-3K.

Ditto. If in doubt, reverse left and right hose. I have never seen any inaccuracy with mine. What has thrown me off is that if bumped it can lose the zeroing. Be sure to zero it before and make sure it zeroes after. I imagine they are delicate and Greg Field has probably had problems with damaged ones....

Be careful not to lose the ball bearings that actuate the brake light and clutch switch! Otherwise a five to ten minute job can turn into hours of searching for the ball bearing. Also be forewarned that if you don't find the bearing, the size of the replacement is critical to the point that the light goes on.

Another reason for short levers is to reduce the chance of lever damage when you drop the bike. (if you drop the bike) I would have gotten the short levers, but I am not strong enough to deal with hours of clutching with a short lever, and I wanted symmetry between the levers, otherwise I would have gone for a short brake lever. I keep the levers inward as much as possible, and the Napoleon Bar-end mirrors help protect the Pazzos, but with a high impact, all bets are off.

What you said is true. Certainly if you take a good running bike, add a free flowing muffler and it starts to pink, adding fuel is the proper solution. And in many other cases adding fuel is a good enough solution But I am not sure why you disagree. If you simply take a PCIII to a stock Guzzi tuned by the shop to compensate for emission legislation, add some overly rich map that you downloaded, you could be running rich enough to cause carbon build-up and eventually get a pinging problem. But heck, I could be missing something too, and carbon buildup may never cause pinging on our bikes, even running 10:1 fuel ratios????????? But I doubt that it is a non-possibility, and I'll bet many of our bikes with Power Commanders and downloaded maps, have more than ideal carbon buildup, so much so that if we put the bike completely back to stock we would have pinging issues. Again, I could be wrong...
