  1. Police make claims all the time. They would never put anyone in jail if they did not. What is the big deal when citizens make claims? They may be false or true, but everyone, including Const. Jewers will get due process. Police should not be allowed to coverup anyything. If Rodney King did not have a video backing him up, the cops would have gotten off...oh yah, they did get off. But the point is, without a video, it would have been labled, just another empty accusation. Janusz must have gotten his information from somewhere. Lets see the police report, FWIW. Or are we living in a police state where that information is not for the public's eyes. Granted an investigation will have to take place before the information is released. The closest casethat I could find, was the following, but they indicate she had a knife and was shot only once. Knife-wielding woman shot by Mountie Last Updated May 20 2004 06:51 PM PDT CBC News VANCOUVER – A 26-year-old North Vancouver woman is recovering in Lions Gate Hospital after being shot in the chest by an RCMP officer Thursday morning. Jennifer Pound Jennifer Pound North Van RCMP say they got a call from a woman who said she had been threatened by another woman armed with a knife. Officers went to a building in the 1000-block of Heywood Street and began looking for the woman who had fled the scene, finding her 45 minutes later. "The female subject produced a knife, lunged at a police officer who in response fired one shot," says RCMP spokesperson, Const. Jennifer Pound. "The subject was hit. And the threat having being neutralized, members then rendered first aid until the arrival of an EHS ambulance." The woman is reported to be in stable condition Police have not identified her, only saying she was a resident of the building in question. The officer who shot her has also not been identified, and has been on the force for five years. Pound say there were witnesses to the confrontation. And RCMP Major Crimes investigators from outside the detachment have been called in to investigate, as is policy in these types of incidents. "Charges laid against woman shot by officer Last Updated May 21 2004 05:05 PM PDT CBC News VANCOUVER – The woman shot and wounded by a North Vancouver RCMP officer on Thursday now faces charges. Twenty-six-year-old Michelle Yasue Ibaraki was shot once in the chest after police say she lunged at an officer with a knife. Ibaraki is charged with one count of robbery and one count of assault with a weapon. North Van RCMP say they had received a call from a woman in the 1000-block Heywood on Thursday morning, saying she had just been robbed at knife-point. Police say officers went to the building, where the shooting occurred a short time later. The officer who fired the shot had five years experience with the RCMP. Police say the investigation is still ongoing. Ibaraki has been remanded in custody until next Tuesday. She remains in Lions Gate Hospital, but is being moved out of the Intensive Care Unit." Another incident, the shooting of Gerald Chenery, indicates how the facts are suppressed. Stories indicate the police shot at him 15 times, by the two rookie Vancouver cops and that he lunged at one of them with a knife. None of the stories indicate exactly how many times he was hit. (what is this, a JFK conspiracy?) Most of the stories do not indicate that the female rookie got slashed, but one story does. Perhaps if the police did not suppress the facts, there would not be the public outrage.
  2. How sad. Canada is becoming nearly as fond of suing as the USA. FWIW I read nothing judgmental in Janusz' post. It would be a shame if we could not even exchange techical advice about our bikes without a fear of being sued. Or post that we broke the speed limit by 1KMH without fear of a citation by Private Message
  3. As it is, our sumps are deeper than the Californias that have no oil coolers, produce more torque and often ridden as hard as our bikes. Granted they do not have the same HP, but I'll bet you could keep the stock sump and toss the cooler and only lose 10% of your engine's lifespan(assuming you bridge where the oil lines were so the oil does not pour out!) However if you live somewhere with traffic jams, slow speeds, and hot weather, keep the cooler or get the deeper sump. You may double the life. Deep sump and no cooler are fine, as everyone said. And if you are a city courier, or spend a lot of time below 20KPH, add a fan. Living in places like NYC in Summer are tough on air cooled bikes. Stockholm, or wherever you are in Sweden, I imagine is not bad at all. California is great as you can lane split almost everywhere, but I keep my oil cooler because I don't want to take chances, and once in a great while, I'll spend an hour slowly lane splitting in 90F weather through LA.
  4. Heres the first post of the thread... http://forums.13x.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=70755 I Love It When "Stunt Bikers" Crash I was thinking about this topic & remembered a chase I had years ago after a "stunt biker." I wouldn't have even looked twice at him except he did a wheel stand for about 2 city blocks & you could hear his pipes from a mile away. I lit him up & the chase was on. Ya gotta admit it's sweet when they run from us warp 9 & that lil old lady pulls out in front of them. God I love it when they lay those big rice burners down & burst into flames. Ever seen magnesiun burn? I hate the smell, it stays in your uniform until you get it cleaned. Anyway, after I lit this guy up, he splits & heads for the fwy. We chased him so fast, the chopper helicopter couldn't catch us, our then new Chevys that had the Vette engine (plus I flipped the air cleaner over & put octane booster in the tank, the mechanic gets pissed but it makes the damm thing fly), the guy was craping a brick because at 110 we were on his ass, I could see the whites of his eyes. The bike was a Ninja 1100 something, he was 2 time loser that chucked a gun and some dope, he was running for his life. Sure enough, he lays it down going about 110, he hit a disel gas slick about 4 feet wide... We had 22'd the chase and were "observing" (yeah right) from a safe distance, the bike a Kawasaki 1100 cc cafe racer looking thing, started to spark as it slid across the fwy, the sparks looked like a Peacocks feathers... sure enough the thing stareted to burn as it finally stopped skidding. I lost sight of the driver in all the sparks. I caught him as he tumbled like a rag doll into the ice plant along side the fwy, head over heals.. I remember it as if it was slow motion like that old Evil Knevel crash in Vegas. He managed to break just about every bone in his body, his left leg was severed above the knee and the bone was sticking out through the skin, he lost all the skin on his elbows and those bones were visible as well. His right eye was buldging out of the socket, his jaw was hanging like only the skin was holding it on and I could'nt see a tooth in his head (he swolloed most of them). His wrists were snapped, two fingers were hanging by a thread and he was MOVING!! He had lost both shoes, and was wearing shorts and tee shirt, no protection. He had to cut the chinstrap to steal the helmit so it flew off almost right away. It was a cool scene, blood everwhere, shoes here, a few teeth there, the bloody, tattered, mangled carcas of a loser felon lying 1/2 on the shoulder 1/2 in the ivy, and in the background the warm glow of a a burning bike. I thought I smelled burning flesh, but idiot was'nt on fire, I looked at him a little closer and noticed his right leg was missing the foot, the stunt bikers foot has been torn off. As the bike and he slid together for about 30 feet, it stuck in the engine (how I have no idea) and was cooking like a piece of KFC. After all the damage that guy did to himself, he lived (dirtbags never die). They drilled holes in his head and anchored these metal rods in the bones of his skull to keep his head from moving, he was a a full body cast, had internal injuries, lost his eye, 2 fingers, a foot, all his teeth, bit his tounge in 1/2 and he pulled his hamstring so bad, it tore. He had a tube in his throat, up his nose, in his jones and the Doc anticipated him needing 20-30 surgeries and he lost the ability to sport lumber. I saved the tax payers from having to pay for his injuries by un arresting him (per 849b1) before they took him to the hospital. That way, he has to pay all his medical bills. We had a hearty laugh and a few 16 oz Buds after work, our LT paid because we didn't dent 1 unit and he was happy.. Stunt bikers, for all you, this Buds for you. __________________ Vice Sergeant Where the sewer meets the surf
  5. Dang! I like that blend, lawyering without braincells. Of course there are all types of LEOs and I am sure most of us have met the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly cops.

Yep. No more Tonti Frame like the California, and the spine frames are going to be new styles like the Griso, Breva 1100, and the MGS01. It is hard to say they are really spine frames. Progress? I don't know. If the frames are lighter, more rigid and make the bike easier to work on, all the more power to them.
  7. Very nice! I am considering Supertrapps under the oil pan. They make some pretty short, and the adjustability is a plus. Got a picture of the crossover?
  8. Hey here is another fun game. Try posting the US vice President's name @#$$#! cheney What other words are censored?
  9. I don't like this game. Why am I Fudge Sucker instead The Boss? And it must be true if George Bush is Fudge Packer and John Kerry is wannabe! @#$$#! Cheney is Fudge Sucker, too...oh well.
  10. Jason, the gizoogle no lie, and Tom's a smart guy, so "Open Your Eyes" and see more evidence: "A call from a friend in England informed me that a BBC entertainment report 10 April 01 quoted a friend of Nicole Kidman who reported that Nicole related to her that "Scientology is evil.' Nicole is reported to have said that "she absolutely will not have her children anywhere near scientology." And that " Tom believes L. Ron Hubbard's teachings that all humans have invisible alien spirits attached to them and they are the cause of human problems." Nicole said that "she could not get Tom to see that these beliefs were demented and a bunch of crap." According to the friend, Nicole is afraid that Tom will try and indoctrinate their children with these insane beliefs." source: http://www.lermanet.com/cos/tom.htm So, if some women said my beleifs were demented, I'd call her bitch, too! But then again the Prison Bitch Name Game gave Tom the name Moustache Girl, Nicole the name Skidmarks, while Penelope got Nut Buster! So Tom may be in for even more trouble with Penelope! The internet does not lie!
  11. And just to confirm she is a bitch, I did one of your gizoogle searches and found: Pimp ... F-to-tha-izzor) thats off tha hook yo. Al R. says none of the V11 sixspeeds are Catalytic convertor equipped. And as far as I have heard, all should have interchangeable slippons. Some have Oxygen sensors, which may create concerns if adding a crossover, but not mufflers.
  14. They would be a VERY tight fit. If anyone finds something like this, but a little smaller, let us know! Ideally something allowing more ground clearance and a couple inches shorter in case length. Here are the specs: Price $90 (a little cheaper than a QuatD, but maybe not after the labor...) 17. I am pretty sure those are Mistrals marketed as Moto Guzzi racing mufflers.

    I know...

Aside from the scraping and grinding your's is probably normal as it should make noise with the clutch pulled in. However Brian has a noise when the clutch is out. This is normal on the single plate clutches found on Rosso Mandellos and a few other models, but not normal on a V11S. So, Brian should have it checked out before the clutch ungracefully leaves the housing. Al R. posted above that someone had a V11S with a single plate clutch, so anything is possible. The single plates are known for better performance, but are less reliable(on our generation of Guzzis) And just to be clear: 1-Single Plate as found on Rosso Mandello, noise is normal when clutch lever is out. I am not sure what happens to the noise when clutch lever is in...I think there should be NO noise, but it could just be less noise. 2-Double Plate as found on V11S, noise is normal when clutch lever is pulled in, but not normal when clutch is out. There should be no obvious clutch noise when the clutch is out.
  19. Try contacting the V11lemans forum member named, Ragin' Pit Bull. He works or worked for FBF. I don't think he has posted in a while, so try the email link rather than the private messaage link. Good Luck!
  20. Something like this, but shorter, and packable. Dynomax from summitracing.com
  21. No sarcasm intended. The only attempt at humor was aimed at the result of my photoshop interpretation of drill bits. I truly appreciate a good hack job! And your documentation was excellent. Other great muffler hack jobs were done by Frank, and Enzo, and I forget his name, begins with S? who shortened his stock muffler. I too, am after increased flow without excessive noise. So, drilling or otherwise opening up the exit pipe sounds like a good way to get just a little more flow without a great increase in noise. I want to keep the packing in as it seems to be killing the most decibels while not greatly reducing flow. I also want to fit the mufflers under the gearbox and that poses a greater challenge. I like your idea to copy the design with wider diameter piping. I wish I had welding skills. The other alternative of replaing the core with a steel wool and glass packed core might be fairly simple and could be done with rivets and wire.
  22. Racial LOVE! Enzo, thanks for the sort of apology. I suspected you meant no harm. Besides, I don't think anyone who does not think Guzzis are not the bomb should be forced to ride a Puch moped for eternity.

Do we have to wait until 2006 to see the interceptor? The 2004 looks hot enough
  24. But you probably did not ride the bike with the QuatD. With Ear Plugs in, nothing sounds better! Yes it is a little tinny, as that is the nature of stainless steel mufflers without fiberglass packing. But they are not as tinny sounding in real life as the recordings on my site or Zeb's I agree that from the perspective of bystanders and audience, the QuatD is not impressive sounding. What is impressive is how the sound emanates from under the bike, rather than from behind you. How it is louder to the rider than to your neighbors. I want it to sound good for ME! I miss my QuatD I really want to improve on the design with something similar, but with two outlets and more peak power. Frank may be on to something with his slick setup. And Enzo with his Cobra.
