  1. Neat. I had no idea they invented the cartridge fork! Aren't most good forks today cartridge ones?

    Tank suck

Yup, it's built into the lid. Not hard to fix at all, just a couple of phillips screws. Problem solved
  3. Heck, I don't have a clue half the time in what any woman is saying
  4. I have never seen one for sale (I don't even know if they exist in my country) but if I ever do I will buy it immediately for whatever price I have to pay. Then, personally, I would convert it to naked (carefully retaining all original parts) with Guzzirider's bike as an inspiration, and just put the fairing on for longer trips.
  5. Never heard of it. It looks really cool naked, I want one!

    It's a V11

Is that a sump? That upside-down pyramid. Why is it shaped like that?
  7. Ah, so that's the 8-valve engine.
  8. Nah, don't give me a point, it would be hard to be proud over it and I do have one already. I'm more concerned about how I could get myself a stump. Anyway it was fun
  9. It's almost a 1965 Benelli 350/4 GP... but not really it
  10. 1972 Peripoli Giulietta 50cc Cross
  11. Ah, didn't see that. It was used to kill Count Lippe, not Bond. These are the better among my findings on who rode it: http://d6751420.u103.surftown.dk/Front.html (pick vehicles button to the right, then chose the BSA from Thunderball) http://www.brooklands-books.com/pages/bsaa50ack.html
  12. This one from Pyro Dan fits my Sporti, I'm not entirely sure it fits all V11's but I think it should at least fit the earlier ones.
  13. Man, I give up I've found two or three references clearly saying it was Chris Vincent. That doesn't necessarily mean they are right, but I can't find information on anyone else. I have never spent so much time googling for something so unimportant in my entire life At least today I rode my bike first
  14. OK, then. Chris Vincent! That was really hard to find.
  15. There's a thread somewhere with the exact same original question. Ah what the heck I'll find it for you. http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=10079
  16. There are discussions in various threads. Even if your spacer is correct, some say the wheel could possibly be machined too wide. If that is correct, the only safe way if you're really worried is to measure your own wheel. It's not that hard when you've pulled the bearings. The spacer should be a little longer than the width between the edges in the wheel for the outer races, like one or two tenths of millimeters. I'm not at my best writing in english here but I guess you understand the reasoning: the outer races must not be at tension, just the inner races. This bloody great post by Pete explains it in better english, in rear wheel context. The whole thread is hilarious.
  17. 5. @#$$#! Ziker Edit: the forum seems to not like his first name. It's D i c k. I would be pretty pissed if I were him and saw my name censored.

  19. That would be a nice pub story though. "I released the throttle and BAM she blew away the throttle plates. I found them embedded in the air filter, which probably saved my ass. It appeared to be a bit on the lean side after that." I've read some sport Mercedes is programmed to make some popping when releasing throttle, on purpose. I played with the thought of doing the same with my ECU Anyway, I wouldn't touch any of the screws before swapping the boot. You can't make it much better but you will ruin settings that may be perfectly good with a new boot.
  20. Can't find it either. Generally they say if it's not speced go for the standard values. If it's M8 that is just below 30 Nm.
  21. A set sitting on the shelf will actually make the installed ones last forever
  22. I've been told the V11 has the rectifier bolted to frame so it should have good grounding. Maybe there's some bad connection at the battery side. I guess you should check the positive junction at the starter too. Also, you may want to check voltage at battery before starting, and during idle when lamp glows as well as when lamps out completely. Maybe it could be sympthoms of a bad (as in end-of-life) battery, I'm not sure.
  23. All this mentioning of springs reminds me of a moped I owned over 20 years ago . It had no throttle wire, so we put the throttle spring under the throttle. Yiihaa, that was fun. Even worse, it had no brakes and no clutch. I hope I'll never meet such maniacs...

    Ring ring

Fairly easy. Alternator cover, stator, rotor, front engine mounts. Then tilt that engine mount subframe forward to get room.
  25. Cool, seems to be in fairly good shape. I love that tacho!
