  1. That's true, they all should... LaFranconi makes the stock exhausts for the V11 Sport/LeMans Although on the carbon-fiber sleeved versions, I don't know if "LaFranconi" is clearly marked on them anywhere other than perhaps a decal?? ...as it's hard to "stamp" anything in the carbon sleeves Maybe on the end-cap?? I dunno. I've never looked at them closely... al
  2. ...oh shit
  3. Yes, "relay wiggling" is always "Step 1" for diagnosing issues like this on these bikes al
  4. Which ones? I don't have a part number, but mine are the FIAMM horns(one high, one low) from your local Auto-Zone, Kragens, or equivalent. I think they are about $10 each? al P.S. Mine weren't actually marked FIAMM, but some other brand, but if you looked at through the plastic, I think they said FIAMM somewhere, and the packaging was exactly the same as a similar FIAMM air-horn set next to them. Anyway, they're really easy to find.
  5. ...and perhaps a photo?
  6. Under V11 Sport Accessories: http://www.motoguzzi-us.com/accessories/v1...m/titanium.html And yes, AFAIK, all the OEM exhausts are basically the same for the various V11 Sport varieties. The only difference is the "skin" that slides over the silencer body, whether silver or black anodized aluminum, or a carbon fiber sleeve. The innards are the same heavy LaFranconi core. al
  7. NEAT!
  8. Paul, I'd be interested to hear the how and why you went with the "wave rotor" and the PVM caliper out back. It seems like the stock Brembo caliper and rotor are pretty good(other than the rotor/caliper groan issue of course)... ?? Just curious al
  9. I thought the advantage of the "wave rotor" was supposed to be in heat dissipation due to the greater surface area?? I really have no idea, but that was the marketing hoopla I thought I ran across at one point I still think they are ugly al
  10. Nope, different kit..... Staintune doesn't make a full kit for the V11 Sport/LeMans, just cans: http://www.staintune.com.au/exhausts/moto_guzzi/index.htm They only make(made?) a full kit for the Centauro, Cruisers, and Sport1100/Daytona. I don't know "how different" the Sport1100/Daytona kit would be considering the frames are similar, but perhaps someone like Carl or Paul with both bikes can chime-in on the difference in the exhaust systems. al
  11. When did Staintune start making a full kit for the Sport? I've checked their webpage repeatedly over the last year(not in the last couple months though) for a full system, and the only system they show is for the Centauro, Cruisers, and Sport1100/Daytona According to their website, they only make the cans for the V11 Sport/LeMans. http://www.staintune.com.au/exhausts/moto_guzzi/index.htm al
  12. Lemme know what you decide to do with your stock ECU once you make the change. I may want to buy it from you if you want to let it go. I need to send an ECU off to TLM for ignition remap, but don't necessarily want to send my only ECU off for several weeks I missed one on eBay for $50 the other day... dangit al
  13. ...not to hijack your thread, but on that note, I wish someone would come out with a semi-floating rear rotor for our bikes. I've seen the wave rotors on some Sports, so I know they make ones that fit. Just find the correct diameter rotors, made for our Brembo(Guzzi, Ducati) applications, and it should be fine. A quick "Google" for "wave rotor guzzi" yields the following: http://www.gforcecycles.com/Merchant2/merc...ry_Code=400.400 Give them a call, they have a listing for Guzzi "Daytona, Sport1100, and Centauro" which I believe should be the correct size(double-check). al P.S. DANG, those things are expensive, $270 EACH! Unless I was racing, one would be hard pressed to prove to me that they deliver over $500 of increased braking performance, plus no offense, but I think their kinda ugly For ~$500, if one wants really better braking, look up a thread from Paul regarding upgrading the whole front brake system(calipers and all) to Brembo's next better setup for that price
  14. I did, and I think it's a bloody shame. The german guy expected an '03 with the new finish and got a red/black with the fuzzy stuff. ... that's a bummer. I wouldn't have accepted it(if the engine finish was a priority for me) al
  15. ...good lord, my brain hurts
  16. mik, .... the "Nero Corsa" and the standard black '03/04 should be quite different than just the engine finish. Although, no stock black bikes should have the "crinkle" or "fuzzy" paint though, so this is odd The "fuzzy" finish was an '01(Rosso Mandello) and '02 feature, and the LeMans in '02(first year) was only offered in Champagne, and the Red/Gray schemes. All black and red LeMans were offered starting the second year, '03, and continue through this year, and these bikes were delivered with the new "satin" black engine finish. I suppose it's possible that a few early '03 black or red bikes were delivered with the "fuzzy" engine finish, but I haven't seen any Anyway, not doubting you, it's just odd. Your '04 Nero Corsa should have the black/gray checkerboard paint scheme, "satin" engine paint, and full Ohlins suspension, which is the big difference al
  17. ...yeah, that was "the diagonal" I was referring to that I wasn't aware was there before I went out and checked my bike soon after seeing this, making sure the 2002's even had that one... and indeed they do al
  18. I've got one from the "Oklahoma source" but haven't installed it yet. So far I just keep it as a talisman I'm waiting on the full set that is being researched/made soon?? al
  19. Wow, that's really interesting..... I didn't realize that there was THIS much difference in the 2002+ rear subframe assemblies. I certainly noticed the two forward arms at the bottom on my bike when comparing it to the 2000/01 bikes, but never realized that big diagonal was there. I'm glad you had the opportunity to photograph them side-by-side. Very educational! Big difference Thanks al
  20. Welcome Mal I envy your "back yard" Now, a comment on this thread/section... we have 992 members(hoo-ray!) but only have 55 "introductions" Come on folks, let us know who you are, your interests, where you are from, and your plans for your bike! al
  21. Well, because of the mounting location I chose, the angle of the horns as shown are pretty much the only choice in regard to "fit"... clearing the subframe, steering damper(missing/removed in the photo), fuel tank, etc... That being said, no, they are "loud as hell" Oh sure, I can hear them from the "drivers seat", but there's no trouble hearing them outside the bike.... about 1000x louder than the stockers(OK, that's an exaggeration ... but many times louder for sure ) ...and they're "stealth" al
  22. Looks good Here is my horn relocation for the LeMans: http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?...c=1499&hl=horns ...it really cleans up the front
  23. Any relation to this thread? Fuel Pump Phizzle? al
  24. Yeah, we chatted about this in the other thread.... and from what I've seen all the new cases are serial# free We mentioned that I guess one could get a serial# scribed on the block if it mattered that much to ya... But I don't think it matters, after all the bike ID goes by VIN, not the block serial#, and in theory MGNA knows they sent one's VIN a new case ....in theory al
  25. Very neat! Nice looking setup, but I'd still be concerned about the draw, especially in combination with any heated gear... since in my mind this would be a great touring solution, and that and night time are often in conjunction with trying to stay warm Do you have any experience with these lights and other accessories running at the same time?? al
