  1. Indeed it is... I had a brain fade there I remembered late last night because I was searching old email to see who I had purchased the shock from, etc, and found an old email from them. Well, now we have them in the thread for twice the impact!
  2. Another recommendation: Kyle Racing I completely forgot about them The World’s Largest Ohlins Dealer https://kyleracingeast.com/ Palm Coast FL 831-402-0240 https://kyleusa.com/ Monterey CA 831-394-1330
  3. Thanks for the quick response! @doccAnother quick question just to clarify: To install the CB, did you literally just pull out the spade connectors from the 30A location in the fuse block, cut off the female fuse spade connectors, and then wire the CB serially where the fuse had been?
  4. Thanks! @docc It didn't seem clear, or perhaps I missed it, but did you also end up running a larger gauge wire to/from the CB directly to/from the regulator, or fuse block, or... ?
  5. Does anyone know which years benefit from grounding the regulator to the engine case, and at what year they started including a direct path to the negative battery terminal instead? And @docc ...checking in at not quite your 2025 checkpoint, but in 2023 the CB is still working fine? Also, as I assume the CB isn't waterproof; have you had any issues related to water getting into the CB? Given the years and miles you've put on the bike since installing the CB, I think your attestation that water hasn't been an issue would definitely be a "good enough" determination that water shouldn't be a concern
  6. The following threads have some photos of how I mounted the Formotion clock and thermometer on my Lemans. I'm glad this thread was started because I was curious how this new larger series of clocks and thermometers from Formotion looked on the V11. My clock is long dead, but just needs a battery I'm sure. But oddly the thermometer is stuck at 80F, when it was 40F outside, so that aint right I saw some mention above about adding silicone oil back to the thermometer, so maybe that's the fix? Maybe I'll reach out to Formotion to find out what they recommend. To be honest, with smartphones coming along a few years later, and all the services/apps available these days; having the clock and thermometer, and unlighted at that, mounted on my bike probably isn't quite as useful anymore but kind of nice to have aesthetically.
  7. Some questions raised in this thread about "wasted fuel", tank capacity, and how the older and newer tanks differ may be partially answered in the threads below. And as pointed out, the incandescent dash indicator and warning lights can all be changed to LED without any modification, except for the low fuel light. One either has to leave the fuel warning bulb as incandescent, or apparently per a reply above the LED can be wired in parallel with the low fuel incandescent bulb for the bias between the bulb and thermistor in the fuel level detector to continue working properly. Although I then have to assume one loses the gradual brightening effect of the incandescent warning bulb. I changed mine all out to LED except the fuel warning bulb, which I left incandescent. It doesn't light that often or for very long, so I would assume that bulb should last forever.
  8. This is a great thread. Once validated, it would be helpful for future reference for someone to post the correct hose type and size for the external lines on a 2003+ (in-tank fuel pump) model. Then it will be tracked here, and maybe in the FAQ section later. The thread below has a little additional information I gathered about the 2003+ (in-tank fuel pump) tanks:
  9. On the other hand, there are also many examples of where a manufacturer has worked with and supported owners and fans, recognizing the value they bring in "free advertising" and that they don't present a threat to the corporation, branding, or trademark. The corporation and the "fan entity" sometimes do have to come to a legal agreement though to allow use so that there is no risk of unintentional legal trademark issues. An example of this is the Riviera Owners Association, which uses a stylized logo similar to the Buick Riviera. They obtained permission from GM at some point to use the likeness, etc. Riviera Owners Assocation Home Page (rivowners.org)
  10. I reached out to Joe and as before, the wait for the next batch is probably late 2023. But he said it was a good time to get "on the list" as the factory owner is in his seventies and the staff employed has been reduced by half this year so everything is taking even longer.
  11. eBay, searched for "Ducati Monster footpeg"
  12. @FuelCooler Great work on the hugger modification I've always been on the fence a bit with the OEM hugger's styling and bulkiness, and I think this is a great way to keep the OEM look and durability but lighten it appearance. This may go "on the list"
  13. That's great to hear, and a really good deal. And yes I'm certain you are correct about where most are actually made As long as they don't break off when I stand on them, then that's OK. https://www.aliexpress.us/item/2251832622654235.html
  14. Thanks, yep I just got a NOS Ducati Monster peg for $22 to test
  15. I have a twin-plugged bike, and the ECU was reprogrammed by TLM to accommodate the ignition modification, which I don't recall was advanced or retarded after all these years. Once I get Guzzidiag and the reader going, for reference I'll download the BIN so others can take a look at what was done.
  16. I am sure you are correct that the "tune" makes a difference When I first bought my 2002 LM 21 years ago , I think I was a bit more interested in wringing out engine and suspension "performance" than I would be now, where today I would be focused on reliability, economy/efficiency, comfort, simplicity, and then only consider any additional performance opportunities that don't significantly degrade the first four After I get the baseline issues sorted on my bike to make it road-worthy again, "phase 2" will be to revisit the state-of-tune for this very reason to simplify and step back from "top HP" goals and instead focus on a smooth and efficient tune.
  17. This is extraordinarily helpful information for anyone looking at this generation of bikes! Thanks
  18. Oh those look nice too Did you find them to be well-made and a tight direct no-mod necessary fit?
  19. Looks like you were responding just as I was... Yep a little Googling of "ducati monster footpeg" and that appears to be it. Do they seem to fit well? Again, I see a few on eBay for cheap, so maybe I'll just pick one up and see. Thanks!
  20. Yep, that's the plan. I found a relatively cheap (under $30 including shipping) used one on eBay which I may get, although I hate spending a whole $30 on an R&D part I've also dropped a PM to @FuelCooler to see if he knows which pegs are shown in the photo ...the tread pattern on his looks more aggressive than the pads for the parts shown above.
  21. I wonder if these are the pegs, which are also available as individual parts from Harpers, etc: https://www.af1racing.com/AF1-AP81450345-AP81450355-OEM-Aprilia-Touring-Footpegs--Kit---AF1-AP81450345-AP81450355
  22. The hugger modification looks great Any additional photos from other angles or in-process would be helpful. What bike are those rubber foot-pegs from, and were they a direct bolt-on with no modification?
  23. Refresh my memory; but similarly I also think it was the general consensus that for the bikes with the wider 5.5 inch rim, the stock size is 180/55-17, but that stock size pinches the tire into a more triangular shape and smaller contact patch, so the recommended size is 170/60-17 for better handling.
  24. Well after all the very positive feedback in this and the other thread... dangit, looks like I may have to budget another $1k toward the rehab list Maybe a phase 2 after the basics are covered and issues sorted...
  25. That's what she wants. Doesn't have to be an SPG, but that era.
