  1. Sounds like this needs to be documented somewhere here, with photos Is the process and recommendations the same for the stock Marz and also Ohlins forks?
  2. Here is a similar thread that appears to have the same info... And here's a nice summary post: And here's the thread where I learned to no longer take the fairing apart piece-meal
  3. Hrmm, I thought there was a FAQ for this, but doesn't seem to be. I'm sure there was a thread eons ago, but it may have been lost with the upgrade from the original forum soooo long ago. Who knows All true as reported above.... comes off in one big piece as described once the hard mounting locations and turn signal wiring are disconnected. Be careful as the fairing is a little "floppy" once you pull it off, and you have to expand it a bit to get it past the valve cover mounting brackets to pull it forward and off. But once done, you'll see it's not a big deal But as an alternative, if you ONLY want to get to the headlight wiring for example, you also can just remove the small piece of the fairing up under the headlight. I think it is held on with four bolts.
  4. No moving parts...
  5. The P-38 was my favorite WWII plane when I was a kid. You are probably already aware of these stories, but I thought they were great. I spoke with the guys that pulled the first one out many years ago, curious if they'd go back for more. At that time it wasn't financially feasible. http://p38assn.org/glaciergirl/recovery.htm But.... https://www.flyingmag.com/another-wii-p-38-lightning-found-beneath-ice-in-greenland/ https://www.popularmechanics.com/flight/a22575917/wwii-p-38-discovered-under-300-feet-of-ice-in-greenland/
  6. Nice looking seat. I've had good experience with TLM
  7. That looks familiar ...I think they did a great job with as I recall this one year color combination. This was within just a few months of buying mine back in San Jose, California circa 2002.... approaching 20 years ago. Wow.
  8. That looks interesting, so I guess you'll need two. Let us know how well it works out, and perhaps some "how to" photos of the removal of the old plastic elbows and install of the new metal ones.
  9. Yeah I had to Google the headlight (SEV MARCHAL H1 +H3 Amplilux Headlight) yesterday when you mentioned it in the list above to see what it was. That's an interesting history and a sharp looking light. Now it makes me wonder if it would fit in a Lemans bucket
  10. Yeah, it's a shame the OEM unit is just barely good enough regarding durability and output. Not a terrible price... Does the new stator have any increased output? https://www.electrosport.com/collections/street-motorcycles-moto-guzzi-2000-v11-sport/products/esg814-stator-ducati-external-type-2-wire-012-2a These are interesting, but more expensive, options as well especially if one is concerned about power consumption/reserve: https://gtmotocycles.com/collections/electronics/products/eme-stator https://gtmotocycles.com/collections/electronics/products/eme-h-o-charging-system-upgrade
  11. No idea without someone testing, but here is the description from MG Cycle, which suggests it is designed to fit:
  12. Well, actually this would still allow your boot to be right up against the porkchop, so I'd say "no" it doesn't cause the same pigeon toe issue as something like the Buell pegs. ...although it may feel a little odd with more than half your boot on top of the pivot and bolt instead of the peg, where in the stock location it's a bit less. Another minor consideration is that it increases the distance between the pegs and the brake & shifter, but depending on shoe size this may not be an issue. It would be curious to see more detailed photos and specs on how the bolt on the right side was handled. So this might be a good modification for some and require minimal modification, and I think I now remember this being brought up as an option in the past as well that I just forgot about.
  13. If you do get photos of the bag, please start a new brief thread of the tail rack mounted, and the bag unmounted & mounted for posterity if someone asks again and searches. I have some photos of the rack unmounted and its hardware I can then upload to the same thread.
  14. Looks good, but with our short front fenders I wonder how well and long it will hold up to road spray and debris... I repainted my alloy one after the first year of being "blasted"
  15. Nice It looks like they are built to be mounted up under the rear seat/fender, so how will you mount them to the V11?
  16. Hrmm, I may have to look into that as a cost effective proactive item as I rehab mine in the coming months. I've already started a stockpile of little parts. My original angle drive hasn't yet come apart, but it's been sitting for years and based on reports seems to be almost inevitable. Anyone have any experience with this MG Cycle part?
  17. Here is some info specific to Ohlins, but may help in cross referencing: I thought we had a FAQ on rear shock replacements, but doesn't look like it. Another popular and slightly less expensive option some years ago was Penske, and as I recall many owners liked it it better than Ohlins for a variety of reasons. You might check with other manufacturers like Fox as well to see if they have something that fits. And of course I see used V11 Sport/LeMans Sachs shocks on eBay all the time...
  18. I agree 100%, which was my experience with fitting the Buell pegs from a decade ago. I made "extenders" for the shift and brake barrels/pegs, but it still felt odd. So I'm taking them off. I'll probably give the Motratech kit a try, and if that fails just go back to stock. I've seen a number of these types of lowering pegs, and many look to be very well made, but the same problem presents itself. For riders who find this pigeon toe scenario undesirable, you are only left with a few options: 1) Live with the stock pegs, which really aren't THAT bad honestly. It's no R1 2) Find some used Centauro controls, although I've not personally tested this. 3) Find some NOS Motratech controls, but he's retired 4) Someone design a different solution that slightly lowers the pegs but keeps them in tight to the bike.
  19. Great video. You know, these earliest V11 Sports are aaaaaalmost "classics" now as they approach 20-25 years old. Hard to believe how the time has passed.
  20. I too just ordered the set. They are on the way https://www.lonelec.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&path=57_20&product_id=51 I had a set from who-knows-how-long-ago and never was tested. I think it may have been an early set when everyone was first trying to figure out which cables really worked. So I'll just keep those questionable ones in "reserve" and go with the set everyone says works. I'm glad this thread popped up as I dreaded going through those long GuzziDiag threads to try and figure out which set worked and who to order it from. So, excellent timing!
  21. I thought I had a photo of the bag somewhere, but alas I don't seem to. But it is a teardrop/triangular shaped bag as I recall, with the red oval MG logo on top. It sorta matches the MG tank bag of that era, but the tail bag is much smaller... think lunch box sized Good luck.
  22. As mentioned, the rack is OEM MG. I had one, and as I recall the weight limit is pretty low, so be aware, likely because of how it is cantilever mounted. Looks great and welcome
  23. I *think* I have a set of these in a box somewhere... that I meant to install. I found the instructions as I was going through and organizing my documentation for the LeMans the other night. Did you have to raise the forks in the triples at all or very much to get the clamps on the forks above the triples? I think I remember looking at them and noting that they were taller than the OEM bar clamps.
  24. Very nice, that fairing never loses its appeal. And I guess it would be cool that it was Ewan's... https://www.ebay.com/itm/2000-Moto-Guzzi-V11-Sport/224080450606 I'm not sure if the Magni or Laverda fairing looks better, but the Magni is awesome
  25. Would be interesting to see all production numbers for the V11 Sport variants, broken out by market.
