  1. 2002 Champagne Le Mans in Cortez, Colorado $5500 USD https://cosprings.craigslist.org/mcy/5200383109.html 21500 miles with some of the typical "go fast" modifications, bar risers and appears to be all there.
  2. Here's a Tenni in the San Diego area, just posted a day ago. Approximately 31k miles. It's well loved, but not too bad. Someone fitted a nice Penske rear shock. http://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/mcy/5229612499.html
  3. Thanks Orson ....good to see many of the old crew still bouncing around, although I've read where many have moved on or also don't participate as much anymore. That's understandable though as what was a brand new model about 15 years ago is now a "classic" and we'll probably see more old-timers like us drop as time passes and "new blood" trickle in a little less frequently. But that's just the nature of these things, and this forum like those for other well loved makes/models will distill down to the die hard owners and those that discover the V11 later or finally capture that long dreamed chance at ownership. ...but yep, have been out of the loop for a few years now with kids, work, etc. A new daughter back in 2004, then a move to and another within NC, house remodeling, and job change derailed riding for quite a while and the bike got mothballed and kinda forgotten while we focused on other things. So the kids (one married, another a HS senior, and the youngest now in middle school) are getting older now and I'm tinkering with getting the bike freshened up over this autumn/winter now that my garage is a little more cleaned up. Fortunately it remains in great shape and just really needs some fluids changed, a "tune up" and checkout, and a new battery to get it going again. I'll probably do a bit more than that though, including cleaning up some prior work, installing my Roper plate, some new foot controls and maybe some bar risers, so it will be ship shape come spring. One headache I'll still need to sort out is the 3-4k RPM stumble it gets once warmed up. After the all the engine work, I never did get a chance to get it back on a Dynojet to get the PCIII properly remapped and it's been finicky ever since. So I'll have to do some research on this new (to me) GuzziDiag, etc and see what I can do. I'd really love to get rid of the PCIII and have the 15M ECU handle everything, so maybe that's an option now. There's nothing wrong with the PCIII, but it would be nice to have that simpler with the 15M alone tuned to deal with the current mods. We'll see.
  4. Indeed, congratulations .... I remember test riding mine, then riding it home and hanging out in the garage with it for hours, and my GF as the time (now wife) not being quite as thrilled with my diverted attention
  5. Welcome indeed! At least by the '04 model year most of the significant issues were sorted. You'll have to start a thread to tell us a little about its history, is it stock, modified, low/high mileage..... etc
  6. Bringing her out of the mothball fleet!

  7. As I recall, I think we had a vigorous debate many (10+) years ago about "ram air" and the consensus was that at road speeds there is no benefit as the velocity isn't enough to "ram" any more air into the airbox than atmospheric pressure, and in fact turbulence introduced from any such exercise must be considered too as that could impede airflow. However, there was agreement that any method to get cooler and unimpeded air into the airbox was generally a "good thing" But I can't speak to the photo above. Because of my tank modification I can't run an airbox anymore (unless I remove the tank balance tube), so for me it is pods. Plus I think they look pretty cool and I got good dyno results with them once tuned Al
  8. Can you expand on the issue of tanks delaminating and "ethanol worries"? Thanks Al
  9. Ah, so sorry to hear this has happened. At least the garage was detached and the house and your family was unharmed.
  10. Heh, he probably will! I remember spending many weekend afternoons up at various MC gatherings in the Santa Cruz mountains where lots of more "esoteric" bikes would show up and the MGs would always get attention I saw my first V11 there, a red frame green Sport and immediately was smitten
  11. Heh, no the Pashnit site is not mine, but is by a guy that started out with collections of MC trip photography across California in the late 90s, which he then turned into a MC tour business (in your neck of the woods as I recall) and created a forum as well. He collected reviews of bikes he liked, and we shared a history with the FJ, and asked me to write a review of the V11. Always meant to join him on a ride, but then we moved from CA to NC.
  12. That sounds like a great upgrade. I didn't even know it was a possibility (guess I assumed the tank dimensions had changed along with the frame length). What's involved in doing this swap? Is there a topic on this? I did some searching but couldn't find it if there is one. Dan Yep here you go, the link below is the 'how to' of my retrofit of a 2003 tank: http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2459&hl=%222003+tank%22 I struggled with the tank suck and vapor lock on my 2002 for a long time and tried various remedies as documented in the FAQ below, and in the thread above: http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=462 Ultimately I decided the proper fix was to acquire and retrofit a 2003+ tank with the interior pump, regulator and filter. Al
  13. BTW, exchanged email with Todd and he says the one he sells will fit a LeMans bucket.
  14. Always up for a new t-shirt. I think my old V11lemans.com t-shirt may be long ago worn out.... Something else that might be nice are small stickers or a very thin license plate frame that has the forum logo/name along the top or bottom. Not so sure how possible the latter is at a reasonable cost though.
  15. I've checked out the forum "Member Map" and it seems that we only have a few members in North Carolina That is one downside of moving from NorCal where we had a pretty active MG community. Does anyone know if there is a group of MG owners in NC that socialize, go on rides, etc? I am located in Sanford, which is essentially dead center in the state, just about 50 miles south west of Raleigh. My bike has been mothballed for a while, but have plans to resurrect it this Winter. So I thought I'd ask around to see who is in the vicinity Al
  16. Anyone fitted the bulb at GuzziTech: http://www.guzzitech.com/store/product/led-headlight-bulbs-usa/ ..... specifically will the bulb at the Amazon link above and/or the GuzziTech bulb fit into the LeMans bucket?
  17. Quick aside question: If one already has VDST, does VDST already do everything that GuzziDiag does (at all, better, worse?) I've had VDST and its requisite cabling new in the box for quite a while and haven't tinkered with it, so I'm curious if I should bother with VDST at this point. I've never gotten my 3k RPM stumble sorted, and I'd love to ditch the PCIIIUSB and modify the ECU directly to simplify things. Not sure if VDST will get me there to remove the PCIII & get things sorted, or if I need GuzziDiag instead. Thanks.
  18. Yep, nice looking machine, but not a fan of the race-repli tail. ....particularly like the wheels
  19. Mine is here: http://www.pashnit.com/bikes/V11-Lemans.htm 2002 Champagne
  20. Who else spotted the brief image of the left hand side of a Griso engine during the Maserati Ghibli Superbowl commercial? Al
  21. Great find, email sent. Is it confirmed that the the harness/TPS connectors are the same for all years V11 Sport/Lemans variants?
  22. I wonder if this is a direct drop-in for the Lemans bucket.... anyone try? The dimensions looks very close from my recollection. Would be curious if a Kisan headlight modulator would still work with these LED lights since the draw is different. I don't know if the Kisan modulator uses the current draw as any sort of trigger or reference, so perhaps. One would just have to test.
  23. Thanks everyone.... it's a tough decision to be sure. Certainly if we have to make the sacrifice for our daughter, the decision is easy, but the bike would be missed. We're still looking into options and not making any "rash" decisions! My son did joke the other day that he could start riding it to high school! I don't think his mother was too keen on that! heh And yes Joe, I would be happy to buy you and Mike a hamburger at Alices if we're ever back out that way again. ....remember when we briefly had our MG SF area meets there? Al
  24. Re-reading the old Pashnit thread and seeing the photo of the bike in our old backyard in San Jose and all the tinkering and memories such as riding through Yosemite, Santa Cruz Mountains, Nevada.... I should probably modify my statement that I am just not "keen" to reflect that I will be approaching "heartbroken" to sell it
