  1. Triumph recalled a bunch of those fittings. They were breaking due to the stress of repeated tank removal. I do not know which ones they replaced them with though.

  4. Yes, and he measured my valves when I had my heads ported and dual-plugged. There was significant wear. I believe that Carl Allison also posted photos of his worn valves. I don't think it is anything to really worry about, but potentially something to check every blue moon if you are already "in there" for some reason. Al P.S.   5. Those are nice, but I had a set of toss-over soft bags like that years ago.... and while they were very convenient, they tore up my finish and were a pain to keep from moving all over. Mine were Tour Masters. Do these do better?

Since often so many folks fret for what seems like ages on finding the perfect avatar, I just decided to grab one of the "stock" avatars from the first forum, then add a little humor to it since at the time I was doing major tinkering on the bike.   7. I assume you meant "single plate" versus "dry"... as all the V11 Guzzi's are dry clutches But yes, the Scura and Tenni both benefit(suffer?) from the single plate clutch.... love 'em or hate 'em al
  8. Did you buy your Tenni new or used? I simply wonder because we have yet to find a V11 delivered from the factory with any WP suspension, and wonder if someone added a WP shock aftermarket to yours and #154 Although the marketing docs did hype WP suspension on the V11 models, from what we can tell(several threads on this elsewhere) all the production V11 models showed up with Marz forks, and Sachs Boge rear shocks(excepting Ohlins equipped models starting with the 2002 Scura of course). So yours would be a notable exception if it did come from the factory with a WP shock. Of course, with Mandello, anything is possible though Also, all 2002 LeMans based models came with the CF "dash" by default from the factory. In fact I believe *all* 2002 models did, but am not 100% sure if the base 2002 Sport also included it. al

  15. Are they making them now? The last time I checked, which admittedly was a whiiiiiiiiile ago... they didn't make any that specifically fit the V11. Although, if you simply do some measuring, I wouldn't be surprised if they had a set already made for another bike that would fit. al
  16. I don't know why your braking is performing as you describe, other than using both sets of brakes certainly is more braking power(nominally) than just the front by themselves. But like all bikes, the front brakes to the predominance of your stopping, so there should be little difference. The V11(Tenni, LeMans,Sport) isn't really a lightweight bike, so if one is used to riding a lighter bike, then the stopping power might feel a bit different. But that being said, the V11 has the same brakes as the Ducati 916-998, so it does stop quite well. So I'd do the normal maintenance routine... check pads, fluid, rotors, etc.... If your Tenni has linked brakes, it would be the first late-model Guzzi I've heard of having that feature, and certainly the first V11 I've ever heard of. So I doubt you do. al
  17. Just loosen the nut, the axle will not normally turn when it is still clamped in the ends of the legs. Then you can loosen the legs, and work the axle out.

And yeah, the fella that makes the lever that MPH is selling has suggested for a couple years he might make it's mate, but due to high costs and low sales of the one, he never has as far as I know. With all the people asking about lowered pegs, I was actually thinking about looking into reproducing the Centauro controls in something that wouldn't snap off once I got my set from France.     You have a 2002 spec bike if you have the wrinkle/fuzzy black engine paint, and external fuel pump. All 2003 V11 Naked models that I have seen are actually holdover 2002 spec models. As such, if you do not have a hollow front axle, and you have the huge "tinker toy" caps on the top of your forks with a "C" and "R"... you have the older 40mm Marz that have assymetric compression and rebound damping(only one in each leg), and no preload adjustment.     I did ALL of the above in my first car(well except for cheap beer), a 1980 Old 98 Regency... very "cush" And that 5.7L engine was actually pretty quick, and I routinely burned the rear tires off. Oh, and how many "delicate" sports cars out there can have the engine rev'd to almost redline, thrown into "drive"... peel out 10 yards, then be dumped straight into "reverse", still with the gas floored, then smoke the tires again? ...with no damage, repeatedly! That's a teenager for ya! But what's kinda funny, one could really "drive" that car once you knew how to handle it. Don't get me wrong, it definitely had it's limitations(heat faded the brakes many times ) However, amongst all my friends other "sport" oriented cars... guess who's car almost always was voted as the one we all piled into?
  24. Yep, the Tenni and V11(Sport, Naked, * Corsa, Scura, Rosso Mandello, Ballabio, Copa, LeMans....) are all essentially the same bike, and share many of their parts. Very little(other than cosmetics and in the case of the LeMans based bikes, the fairing) is different between the models. Now as a 2002 spec bike, the Tenni is a member of that unique "transition" year between 2001 and 2003 where the bike has some holdovers from the first generation bikes(00-01) and a few features that continued into what showed up in 2003. But other than the fuel system, and front suspension, any other changes are minor and should be interchangeable, other than some engine internals 2003+. For the most part though, the Tenni has the most in common with the first two years of production, so any parts from an earlier bike will fit just fine in most cases. And as far as some cosmetic bits like bodywork and things like black levers, that would come from a 2002+ bike. The only really significantly unique items to the Tenni would be the CF "chin pad" on the tank, TiN coated fork legs on the Marz forks, and maybe the accessory suede seat.
