  1. I have decided that I'm going to add a pair of Mistral exhausts to the Billybob, and thought I would look at the Power Commander site as well. Under Moto Guzzi, they list V11 Sport, but only 2000-2001 years. Will that PCIII work on an 04 Ballabio? Another quick question. Does anyone have experience with a carbon fiber can? Does the finish hold up, or does it go to hell quickly. I think the black carbon would look nicer on a red Ballabio, but I don't want to have to refinish or replace them every two years. If you had a choice between the carbon cover or the titanium covers, which would YOU choose. Thanks for the help. Doug
  2. I ordered mine from Todd as well.
  3. The sound of that Ferrari is intoxicating. I have on my hard drive, a similar video of a Porsche 911 being chased through the streets of Stockholm by the police. This was not professionally filmed but rather something the driver wanted to do as "sport". It has a forward and rearward facing camera as well as one on the side. Fun to watch. Ahhh... the sound of an air cooled flat 6! I actually found a link for it: Porsche Enjoy!
  4. Great. Thanks for the info Tom!
  5. I wonder about that too with the 2004 Billybob. Does the ECU require and/or control tune in accordance with the Lambda? Will just changing over to a Stucchi with the stock exhaust require using a PCIII? Thanks, Doug
  6. Thanks! That's the answer I was hoping for.
  7. Just out of curiosity....does adding the Stucci crossover give the stock pipes a better sound, or is it strictly a performance upgrade?
  8. Just a couple of quick questions... Do you need to know the specific model and year V11 we are ordering for, or are they all the same? and... Would you prefer I hold off ordering one from you until the next batch is done so you can see if there is going to be an adjustment in price? Thanks, Doug
  9. Congratulations fellow Ballabioisti ! Hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine.
  10. Dougie like.
  11. Odd...I find the steering very light and precise.
  12. I was trying to decide on either the Pilot Sports or the Pirelli Diablo Corsa's. After reading a bunch of reviews, I decided to go with the Pirelli's. After putting a couple of hundred miles now on the Pirelli Diablo Corsa III's, I can honestly say they are the best tire I've ever put on a bike. They also seem to warm up pretty quick. Very confidence inspiring. If the tire is squirming around a lot, it leads me to think it's pressure might be a bit off. Either that or the shelf preserver they put on the tire was still in the process of wearing off. Just a thought.
  13. You might want to try Cycles 128 in Beverly, or perhaps Greater Boston Motorsports in Arlington I think. They usually have a good selection.
  14. With those choices, I think I'd go with new every time.
  15. Man, this weather is just not very conducive to riding motorcycles. Damn New England straight to hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! just kidding.
  16. I actually just got a Suomy Spec 1R through an Ebay dealer for about 125 bucks less than all the retailers near me and he had FREE shipping. All in all...a great deal.
  17. Yeah, except that the valve stem is plugged into steel, aluminum or magnesium which has much less flex and heat than a tire under load.
  18. Replacing the tire = sleeping better at night. I don't know about you, but at 100+mph, I just don't want to worry that maybe, that plug isn't quite right. I've used plug kits to get home and to the shop to have it replaced, but never driven any real distance on a plugged tire. IMO it's just cheap insurance to get rid of it.
  19. Man....that MGS has been kicking unholy ass!
  20. I just took my first ride of the Spring, and for that matter, my first ride on the Ballabio and must honestly say I'm smitten. It's better than even I thought it would be. Great torque, great sound, great brakes. I can't wait to get this thing out and give it a proper flogging . This week it's getting its fresh Pirelli's, all oil changes, (forks, crankcase, tranny, rear end, brake and clutch fluids). On another note, the new Suomy Spec 1R helmet I just picked up seemed to be pretty good too. Much nicer fit than my old HJC. Seems quieter to me too. It's gonna be a long week without the bike.
  21. How about trying a very light abrasive metal polish liquid? I've used some in the past on brushed aluminum and if done carefully, will usually take out minor scratches. Remember if you do this to only polish in the direction of the brush of the finish, not little circles. IMO I would avoid using a scotchbrite type pad.
  22. I'd bet you anything, that it's the ethanol they're adding to the fuel. Alcohol has a nasty habit of eating through stuff.
  23. A weekend would definitely work better for me and probably allow for a longer ride, but I could also do a weekday. I get outta work at 3:30 in downtown Boston. Thanks, The other Doug
  24. Well....what was potentially a great week of decent weather with one day reaching about 70 degrees, quickly degraded into a one day Nor'Easter with 8-12" of snow. I think this has pushed the motorcycle season back a week or so.
  25. Putney could be a pretty nice meet up spot. Us "east side" guys could perhaps take Rt. 2 and then meander northward on some of the small backroads. There's some pretty roads heading that way. Does anyone know of a nice lunch spot in Putney?
