  1. Yes, all Calis were 5 speeds as were all 1100Sports, Daytonas, Centauros etc. V11 6speed gearbox is not used in anything else. Clutch hub (variously called clutch centre, centre boss, clutch gear etc) is #6 in second diagram. I'm not sure about compatability of hubs. Also not sure 5 & 6 speed clutch pushrods (#6 in first diag) are interchangable - I doubt it given 6 speed is shorter & pushrod runs thru length of box - check length & diameter...before you assemble it! KB
  2. Guess it won't be news to most, but here you go: BTW apparently it's not a hoax. KB
  3. F****** shame. Talented boy. Gave it everything. God rest you, Marco. Thanks for the show. KB
  4. Coffee. I don't know anything about his circumstances other than what is in the film. Presumably he put together the bikes - very nice they were too - & maybe he earns a few quid from it? Looked like a bit of an advert for a business to me - I dunno? Maybe it's family farm - nothing owing, no kids, he doesn't have to earn? Maybe he has other work. But whatever, that's his life, this is mine: I feel like somewhere along the line I stepped onto the treadmill & now I have to run just to stay where I am. The quality & pace of the movie, the attitudes & bikes therein are an inspiration to quit whinging, lose some of the shit, find time out of the many wasted hours, & get back to some things that are important to me. For me, there is no substitute for making stuff just for the love of making it. What's it mean? I guess it's one of those...if you have to explain...things... Thanks again BFG, I love this stuff. KB
  5. Thanks again BFG. Exactly. Lovely film OK! This winter.... KB
  6. Hey BFG, thanks for posting that. Made me think a bit. This got me off my arse when I started: "Looking for something to inspire you to work is an escape from taking action. The decision to take action is the only way of seeing". Terry Frost. Now I work solidly but there's always something perched on my shoulder telling me "that's not good enough". I turn the music up but I can still hear it. It's a real pain. I used to spend hours in the shed making bits for the bike etc, very satisfying time. Now everything's a rush, no time for anything that's not earning to pay. I haven't read the books you mention but will look them out. Thanks. KB
  7. Michael, You'll need to lock flwheel whilst releasing bolts that fix it to crank - I use a steel plate which I bolt between crancase studs & outer holes on flywheel - be careful not overstress those studs. You'll need something to centre the clutch plates - I use an old clutch hub. You have to get clutch centred properly or it's a real pig to mate motor to trans. Can't think of anything else at the moment. KB
  8. Hi Michael, yes, there was a bit of pissing about with RAM unit: kit was supplied without bolt set so I had to dismantle to fit & centre button was wrong size & I replaced with stock Scura piece. Richard100t's sounds a great offer. KB
  9. I replaced mine with a RAM kit from Agostinis. Though the stock Scura clutch uses some RAM parts, it is not the same as the RAM clutch kit. KB
  10. Thanks Guy, will check Monday. KB
  11. Thanks Pete. I've sent you pm. KB
  12. Hey Soren, tell us about your clutch. KB (currently bikeless thanks to a FU'ed front UJ ..... )
  13. & long may it remain thus...
  14. I have no doubt your product knowledge is vastly superior to mine tho I'm not entirely convinced you are right in this matter... KB
  15. rbt1548, your bike also appears to be missing it's registration plate off the front mudguard. KB
  16. Like the paint. Reminds a bit of a pre-production 1100Sport tested in MCN years back - silver/red - looked great but Guzzi never produced it. Those stubby cans look great - but what's holding them up? Are you familiar with Paul Minnaert's Daytona http://www.fastguzzi.nl - frame mods & longer s/a, would work well! KB
  17. Good rescue! Nasty job on the wiring - good grief... The rear brake hose is held up by a clip on inside of swingarm. It's very flimsy welded on steel piece - bends easy - hose probably not retained. There have been a few V11's with overheating rear brakes & this could be cause of some of them. Will be a nice bike! Good luck with it. KB
  18. It's said that the situation arose due to a misunderstanding over the nature of a telephone booking for a group of men "in full leather-gear". Consequent disappointment led to a chain of events too sordid to recount here, but so terrible that clearly some victims are still traumatised. KB
  19. What do you expect if stop for tea? If you must stop, do it in an out of the way place where no-one will bother you. KB
  20. I dunno why US beer gets slagged off all the time. Can't remember names, but most places seemed to have something drinkable on tap & I never had to drink anything as crap as Worthington Creamflow. There's masses of bottled ales too. Guzzirider - For all it's disharmony, this is The United Kingdom - or Great Britain. There's good & bad in everything, & history, but I wish all constituents would just get on with it & either put up or shut up KB
  21. Check in with belfastguzzi of this parish - he's in ...well you can probably work that out... KB
  22. Thanks for that Slavomir Musilek. Will likely stick with the 2CT's, can't fault them really except for slight shoulder to front when worn, just wondered how the Pirellis compared. KB
  23. I'm sure you're right, I said it was reasonably brisk above 6k - who said it was "fast"?. Original poster was asking after a bike easy to ride slowly & as you say the V11 is that & more. Anyhow re. fast - it ain't what you got, it's what you do with it... KB
