  1. 68C, Which dyno you going to?
  2. I didn't get it? was he looking for somewhere to eat? And he could have done with a nice top box to keep all his hats & stuff. KB
  3. ......a ravishing ignorance?
  4. It'll most likely be easier when you've done it a few times. More room if you can get rear of bike up highish (stock rear mudguard assy?). I always remove caliper bracket etc. Far as I can see you did same as I do. Don't forget to clip brakehose back in place. KB
  5. Well better you found out now than there? you still going out there? got work? Good luck . K
  6. Hey Macguzzi . May well try that sometime, I go up to Edinburgh occasionally. See no price in the ad? How you enjoying Mallorca or whichever sun-drenched Mediteranean island it was that you ran off to? KB
  7. I guess I'd look at it another way: if a story about the lives of Grand Prix racers can't incorporate themes of sex, love & jealousy sucessfully - themes integral to the chosen subject - it is a lesser story. Grand Prix is not a special interest documentary. KB
  8. Countless wasted millions; decades of fruitless development; untold man-hours frittered away by the greatest brains using the finest materials & facilities - & here alone, the enthusiastic visionary wielding a couple of lengths of donkey dong & a bottle of octane booster in his yard has created the ultimate expression of the sporting motorcycle. Forza Enzo, see the sceptics prostrate in the lightning glow of your unfettered vision. Witness here how the ignorant minions have scolded: http://illuminatiguzzisti.forumcircle.com/viewtopic.php?t=17564&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 :eg...I vowed I'd completely ignore/overlook/discard anything you posted. Doubly so when combined with the preposterous abortion and sellection of truck-store sidelights and rhinocerous-penis bling that serves no function in either engineering or even aesthetic terms on your poor, long suffering V11 (Pete Roper)...or......get a whoopee cushion, place it on the seat, fill it full of gasoline, connect a hose to the bit where the fart noise comes out and fix a spray nozzle from an empty paint spray can...When it starts pinging bounce up on down on the cushion on seat of the Raptor..........fatten the mixture right up Enzo style (Nick in PRC) - these people clearly don't recognise the presence of genius. 9. Have you seen this tread Jaap? http://wildguzzi.com/forum/index.php?topic=47074.0 Scarred me for life, that film - saw it when it first came out - can still remember the feeling watching all that carnage ...& that music...always that music... KB

  11. Was it pinking on same fuel before latest mod?
  12. Is the bottom end OK?
  13. Illuminati Guzzi forum - some wacky stuff there .
  14. Hey Enzo, I see where you got the hoses... [/url]
  15. Oil dipstick is crap, there are aftermarket ones available, or some modify stock one - I drilled holes in mine, but it's still crap. You have to get it really dry before it goes in if you want an accurate reading. Be aware it can pick up oil on sides as it goes in & comes out. These bikes can suffer from oil starvation on hard acceleration, (or even some say on v steep climbs)esp if oil is low. This is because the oil migrates away from the pick-up in the sump. It is worth maintaining oil level at or slightly above max on the stick. There has been much discussion on this - try search. Many have fitted a sloppage plate (available from Pete Roper) to keep the oil in place. I'm not a mechanic but, ime, worn cams & rockers would be good indicator of lack of oil. KB
  16. Great story ScuRoo! Dunno how many others been following your escapade but I enjoyed it - & it's episodic delivery. Can't quite figure where you ended up - somewhere South of Ouarzazate I guess - did you get around Zagora or Erfoud (Erg Chebbi dunes)? Get your pilot to tell you where you've been! Lovely that you did it on a Guzzi too - & trouble free - I don't know much about the Quota, but mighty impressive - it looks like a pretty well cared for bike - what's it's history? Thanks! KB
  17. Enzo's also ensured that his wt is far forward as possible cos he'll slide down the seat to the tank. IMV the further forward you can get on these the better. A shorter tank would help. KB
  18. I burnt a valve on my old roundhead. Cleaned up the seat, new valve & lap was fine, still is far as I know. Can't remember what I used to clean up the seat. Dunno what they are made of, but whatever comes to hand within reason, if you're slow & careful with it I woulda thought it'd be OK. KB
  19. Enzo, I'm sure others might have different views on where you should stick it, but I think you need to stick that tail pipe up under the raised seat - even longer pipe run - even less drag - even faster than the fastest! KB
  20. Me too, but there's always a trade-off - discomfort distracts & that which you have protected yourself against becomes more likely to happen. Comfort's important too! And there's perceived risk where you will take more risk if you feel more secure. One real hot day, T shirt & jeans, I had a worn front blow out & spit me off. After the gravel rash I got from that I wear proper gear & check tyres. IME you're far more likely to pick up a puncture when a tyre is run towards limit. KB
  21. Enzo, they scoffed at all the great innovators. A man of vision will always have to put up with the wailing of inferior imaginations. Stride forward with purpose on your journey. Don't let reason or petty logic deflect you: they are the shackles of mundanity. "To infinity... & beyond!" Peace & love to you and yours. KB
  22. Great stuff ScuRoo . To be honest I thought you were bullshittin about going to Morocco & would probably end up doing a couple laps of the M25 & a trip over the South Downs - but no you gone & did it. Good on you! Looks like you had a great time & the Quota looked after you well Great choice - & brave one too. I got nothing against GS's - I have a GS80 & it's a very able bike - but you don't HAVE to have one to travel further than Sainsburys! Great pictures & story. Thanks. KB
  23. See you're still ploughing you're own furrow, Enzo - & Good Luck to you! Fastest Guzzi out there? Cure didn't stick then ? KB
  24. I don't understand ECU/FI set up. I fitted Ti kit & took it to a bit of private road. Did half a dozen runs flat out through the gears, swapping between stock & kit ECU's. With kit ECU it ran a bit lumpy, with stock ECU it was smoother but a bit flatter. Neither was great. I had also fitted a Stucchi x-over. I had Moto Corsa do FI set-up, PC111 & dyno (crescent dyno round the corner from them) & it pulled like a train - except for occasional bottom end fart. This was 6k miles after stock FI set up by Corsa Italiana (Baldrick did a good job - got rid of flat spot below 5k) & settings could have gone out a bit (? bike was running fine) so I don't know how good it could be with perfect FI settings & without x-over, PC111 & dyno. KB
  25. That looks a looks really clean bike - with crashbar n'all. How did you get on?
