All the more reason to drop the sump! You can have a look see & clean up inside. Just make sure you've gasket(s) handy. I always drop the sump for a filter change. I've never used the manhole cover, it doesn't look any way to do the job, to me. Filters can sometimes be very tight on & I've resorted to screwdrivers thru the side of them in the past. KB

As Guzzimeister says. There's a metal bush in either end of rod, & bolts torque up against bracket through these - ie. it's a fixed distance so no distortion of parts by normal tightening. Manual gives 45-50 Nm for 10mm bolts. KB

GraeV11, you might be interested in: http://www.motoguzziclub.co.uk/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=9951 - or of course, you might not! BFG, it maybe the nature of internet forums that they work for groups whose constituents are spread over large geographical areas & seldom meet, but that they don't work so well when membership is concentrated in a local area with ample oportunity to meet face to face? Maybe only a small proportion of motorcyclists participate in internet forums, & if you're targeting only one brand, in one location, the traffic might be very light? Perhaps something simpler - a facebook page? - as a means of communicating? Advertise the page/group/forum in Guzzi shop? Is that the forum you're thinking of changing into a Guzzi sport forum? Good luck whatever you decide. KB

It's good to see that someone isn't wasting their time razzing around burning up fossil fuels. This may be the answer! What was the question? Who cares! He MADE something! We can look forward to a better future inspired by the pointlessly focused energy of men such as this. Anyone see The boat that Guy built ? KB

Let the branding begin

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKmJPnAGUJk He was probably better off out of it anyhow, if that sword was typical of equipment quality. -
Welcome Trev. Right decision! Interesting how you're smitten by V11 - funny thing about old Guzzis! Was it like that with TDM at first? KB

No!Jaap! THANK YOU!

I dunno. For me it's always been about the bike & the ride. I never have found that I prefered the company of Guzzi riders to others. Mostly I ride on my own anyhow, but when in company I am just happiest with riders I respect; for the way they ride & the attitude they have towards motorcycles & motorcycling - whatever their ride. I'd rather spend time in the company of a genuine, knowledgable & enthusiastic ...insert brand... rider than a rider on a brand new Guzzi that doesn't know his r's from his elba. But I enjoy this Guzzi board - perhaps because attitudes are informed by such varying locations, experiences of, views on & enthusiasms for other motorcycles, & motorcycling & life in general. I used to like the Aussie Guzzi forum for it's similar mix of independent thought & lack of an orthodox "forum view". Membership here doesn't seem to be limited to, or by, a single attitude, or geographical location: it's scope is far greater than it's name advertises. KB

I'm still looking....

Still looking... I still feel it's a shame that all you sporty types have abandoned MGCGB forum, tho I can see why. But whatever - if you set up some sort of Guzzi slanted sports/enthusiast/modified etc etc etc forum i'll join in. Cheers & thanks for pushing it. KB

Great work Guzznax! Good luck to all of you ! Maybe one year I'll get over for your Guzzi-only day! KB

Or in some cases advisable BEFORE they happen..... theone&only......did Guzzi ever acknowledge a problem with exploding Scura flywheels - have you come across one yet? KB

It is a grammatical error. Sorry. KB

There is a thread on UK Club forum for a while now asking if anyone would be interested in a Guzzi trackday. It got ONE response - mine. Unfortunately, I am very unreliable - so if it was raining or cold, or I had to work, there may be zero riders turn up on the day & I don't think the organiser wanted to take that risk... I love track days, but it's quite an effort to get out & I rarely do them. Family & work take precedence & nowadays I feel a bit vulnerable sat in the paddock amongst all the vans & tyre warmers on my only transport home. I tend to tag on to an open trackday at the last minute (when I see the weather's looking good) - & that sort of attitude is no use to people planning a day. It'd be nice to be out with other Guzzis, but as BFG has recently been saying, it's about attitude & being out there, not the make of bike you ride, I kind of like being the weird old duffer in the corner on his unheard of antique, & the puzzled looks. I remember that day MGCGB did at Ty Croes. My gearbox had blown up & I only got it finished that morning but I rode up to have a look anyhow. There were some interesting bikes there, & I guess they're mostly still around but are the rider's past it? How many people do you reckon in UK are into sports Guzzis, or running tuned/modified bikes? I notice you no longer visit the UK forum, Guy. Seems anyone with a sporting interest seems to drop out after a while. The central clique there do not appreciate sportsbikes & are pretty discouraging. It's a shame & I've often thought similar to you - set up some sort of umbrella for those interested in that side of things. I think we need to do a bit of work on the name tho...any suggestions BFG? Tell you what, I'll start a new thread.... GUZZNAX: HOPE YOU ALL HAVE GOOD WEATHER & A GREAT DAY! KB

...yes but...if everything else is in Italian shouldn't it be MGClubbo Mundo or something? Roman numerals would be just fine.
